Hello house,

I recently received an email from the embassy stating

""noreply@diplo.de

Thu, 25 Apr, 14:41

to me

---The Federal Foreign Office’s appointment management system---

Dear Anon,

The waiting period for appointments for the purpose of study increases each year with new registrations on the waiting list.

Many applicants change their travel plans due to the long waiting period and no longer require an appointment. This results in appointment slots not being used, since applicants do not cancel their registrations and do not appear for their scheduled appointments. In order to decrease waiting times for all applicants still interested in perusing their plans in Germany, you are required to confirm your registration within 30 days of receiving this email.

Kindly confirm that you still wish to apply for a visa for study purposes with appointment number ### at the German mission abroad in Lagos by clicking on the following link.

Any registration that is not confirmed within the deadline will be deleted irreversibly.

Thank you for helping to make the waiting time for everyone as short as possible.

Kind regards,
Embassy/Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany
in Lagos""

I've confirmed the appointment, But I'd like to know, does this mean I'll get an appointment this year? I applied on exactly 17th May *2023*

Thank you all in advance!

Read the email and do as they asked you too. They've been sending this email out since April 23rd. They are sending it from 2022 till 2024...

So, it is saying is that they will give dates faster soon. But, I doubt they will give 2023 before 2022. Because they are still following the sequence

Please o is it a MUST one write German A1 before he /she travel to Germany . Does the embassy need it ?.be cause my school doesn’t even want it . But I hear people are writing it ?

No, they don't need it. Your school might not need it either. But, you will need it to make your life easier in Germany.

I did.
Does it mean we'll get a date soon?

No, it doesn't. It could mean that after 30 days things should move faster. But, till 30 days pass, we aren'/t sure and as this moment the last date they gave (that we know of) was 2nd September 2022

Okay .I booked the date for sept 5th 2025 , and I’m asking what if sept 10th or maybe past the date I booked for and they haven’t still called me for AD.should I just cancel because they said “ If you don't receive an appointment confirmation email prior to your
mentioned date of the beginning of your studies your registration can no longer
be considered. In this case please cancel your registration. Thank you!“

If you booked on the Nigerian site, it doesn't work that way. You don't choose the date you want, you choose the date you're expected to start. And right now because of the long wait time, it doesn't matter if they passed the date all you need is to have a valid admission letter.

On what date did you go on the embassy booking site to do all this??

Because currently people that did this in 2022 are still waiting for a date

URGENT!!!,
I registered on Nov 30, 2022, I chose masters and also the date of beginning of study visit I put is May 30, 2023.
I didn’t know the 18 months wait process then.

It’s over a year of waiting, wanted to know if I’ll still get a date and I have changed to mind that I’ll go for BSc instead of masters in September, 2024.

Or should I leave the application or try another country?

In whatever you decide to do, just know that it won't matter whether or not you booked for Msc or Bsc or whether your initial start date is passed, you'll still be able to attend your interview.

Good day everyone, I'm new to these Germany visa process and I'm planning on going for my bachelor's degree in computer science. I have some few universities I want to apply to, for the 2024 summer semester. Please, how's there visa process. Will I be able to get the visa before my resumption in 2024?

You'll need to book an appointment most likely in Category B.

As of now, the wait time for an interview date is over 18 months.

April 7th (2022) got a date today though

Guys, good evening.

My sponsor just returned my call yesterday and gave me the "Go-Ahead" guarantee that I should proceed with my plans for a German visa application via MA/MSc route.

My passport capturing is on Monday at Festac and I'll get my Academic Transcripts shortly afterwards (and have it notarized/validated).

Have you found out what category you're under and booked your appointment?

Current wait time for an interview date from the embassy (for Category B applicants) is at 18 months

My Language Skill Tests will follow early January (I plan for 2024/25 session).

Please, what next should I have lined up after these processes?

I very much appreciate all support and valuable information.

Thanks

Hello my people!
Please I need advice on applying for appointment.
I want to apply for bachelor's program with some schools next year. Which date can I choose as my start date while booking so I could have a better chance instead of waiting one year. Should I choose this year October or next year October. I need advice please. 🙏🙏🙏 Also which embassy is better. Abuja or Lagos?

The start date doesn't determine anything. As long as your category B, you'll wait over 1 year. You'll have to use the Lagos embassy. You can't really choose

I suggest going on the embassy's site and getting more information. The German waka is not the same as with the US.

Good day, house. I wanted to study for my masters in Germany a few years back but later dropped the idea due to their unwillingness then to give interview date for Nigerians, please
1) are they giving interview dates now
2) Would it be of help if I already have B2 certificate even though my intended program would be taught in English
(3)What's the summary of the entire process from application to visa now. Thanks and remain blessed.

1) Unfortunately, it's even worse now. The wait time is now almost 2 years for an appointment date (for Category B applicants that is)

2) No, it would have helped some years ago, but doesn't matter if you're up to C2 now sef.

3) It is recommended you apply for your appointment date before looking into schools to apply for admission.

If you can get a scholarship, are going for a PhD or research or if you graduated with a first class and your degree was issued after 2020, you can get boosted to Category A and get a date within 3 months.

If you cannot get a scholarship or sponsorship letter, you have 2 years to start saving up the €11,208 needed for your blocked account.

Concerning the visa, before it was almost like a rule that if you waited up to a month to hear back from the embassy after your interview, then your visa approval was certain. But, this isn't the came anymore as there are people that wait up to 1 month and still get rejected. People that get approved have been known to now wait for 13 weeks (could be less)

I hope this helps, if you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Please how many times can admission be deferred in Germany given this long awaiting period for AD.

I got admitted to university of kiel winter semester 2023 and I'm planning on deferring my admission to the next winter Semester but they said they can defer it to summer Semester 2024 for now.

They don't offer online classes.

Has anyone especially from university of kiel defer their admission twice?

Thank you

As many times as the school lets you.

Hello, please I applied last year December 2022. Is there any chance I’ll get an appointment this year? Have they started responding to people who applied late last year?

I mean, there's the grace of God. So that's a possibility.

By the facts, no. People from April 2022 are still receiving dates.

Good day house.please, a cousin of mine who is 36years and with a CGPA of 3.1 with a NECO certificate wants to apply for masters in Germany. Her sister in-law is her sponsor because she has been there for sometime now. Please, is the sponsor good enough and what other qualifications does she need?

Her sponsor needs to be at least a permanent resident and have enough income to support her after her expenditures on herself and family have been deducted.

These rules differ by the region, city or state. So, I suggest you look into the rules for the state your sponsor is in. Some allow any permanent resident and some allow permanent residents that have had their residency for a certain amount of years.

Just do the research

Please, is it possible to apply for German visa appointment in Nigeria without school admission letter?

If yes, please what is the procedure?

Yes, very possible and actually recommended for Category B applicants. Go on the embassy site (Nigeria.diplo.de), scroll down to "Visa" and just find your way from there. I have a checklist I can share with you.

For MS in Germany, so many schools i'm researching are asking for English Language test.

Please is this a common occurrence or am i not checking the right schools?

I'm going for an English-taught MSc related to Agriculture / Agribusiness and Food processing.

Also some schools are asking for tuition fee.

Yes, it's common for schools to ask for that. But, sometimes, they can accept a letter from your university stating that you learnt in English. Email the school to find out specifically.

Yes, private schools have tuition fees and some courses in some private schools also have tuition fees. But, recently, there's been talk from universities in Bavaria that they want to re-introduce tuition fees for students from third-world countries. It all depends on what and where you're searching
