36STATES: Cheating is a very serious issue that has to be comdemed. One of the greatest problem with most of us Nigerians is our lack of sense of responsiblity. It is so rare for a Nigeria to plead guilty even when he's caught red handed; we simply don't like taking responsibity for the consequences of our actions. We lack sense fairness. That's why jobseekers are asked to pay money to get non existent job by govt officials. We lack sense of meritocracy which is a vehicle to make sure a society is lead by its best hands. Those that cheat in exam and forge result take opportunities away from those that have really worked for it and are more capable. To cite such ignominy as cheating to pass exam as a positive thing is very tragic.

I think you don't seem to understand the impact of cheating in exam,... maybe you have not had the opportunity to observe how things are done in other countries.
what's your own sef... could you just write your experience and if you don't have any leave this thread...I wonder why you have to keep repeating your self about how things are done in schools abroad...if you want ppl to know you are schooling abroad, just say it and stop citing it all your comments

#14: Delhi Purple Sapphire
The Delhi Purple Sapphire has had an equally wicked history. According to Edward Heron-Allen, a scientist and personal friend of Oscar Wilde: “This jewel is accursed and is stained with the blood, and the dishonor of everyone whohas ever owned it,” or so said the last owner of the beautiful gem. Though many people consider this rare gem a purple sapphire, it’s actually a large amethyst. Edward Heron-Allen offered the gem to the London Natural History Museum in 1943 claiming that it was indeed cursed, causing grief and loss to his family and himself.

#15: The Florentine Diamond
The Florentine Diamond is a massive 139karat, amber-colored diamond that is also associated with a long line of infamous deaths. Of the most famous deaths, or at least a listing of the most famous misfortunes are seen in the dramas of Queen Elizabeth I of England, King Faruk of Egypt and Maximillian of Austria, notably that of King Louis XIV and Mary Antoinette, the jewel’s ill intent can also be seen as the cause of Archduke Ferdinand and his wife Sophia’s assassination on 28 Jun 1918 in Sarajevo, thus igniting World War I. Though only coincidence for many, the fact that Sophia was wearing the stone at the time only fuels inquiry of a paranormal kind.

#10: The Cursed "Chair of Death"
In 1702, a convicted murderer named Thomas Busby wasanonymous about to be hanged for his crimes. His last request was to have his final meal served at his favorite pub in Thirsk, England. He finished his meal, stood up, and said, "May sudden death come to anyone who dare sit in mychair." It is said that throughout the years all who have set in it have died. I guess its best to take curses seriously.

The large, blue diamond when it was stolen from a sacred idol in India, for which holding a curse of misfortune and death to anyone other than the prescribed guardians, who touched it, letalone anyone who would steal it. Belcourt Castle was founded by Oliver Hazard Perry Belmont, a wealthy American socialite and politician, in 1894. Visitors who sit in the chairs say they immediately feel cold, queasy, and uncomfortable. Their hands feel like their pricked by static electricity when held near the chairs, and many people have claimed that they've felt like they're sitting on someone when they attempt to sit in the chairs. Several visitors have actually been ejected from the chairs by an unseen force.

#7: Haunted Doll
This is another haunted doll that inspired a movie; you may know it as “Child’s Play”. Though this doll was not possessed by serial killer, it was an evil doll. Given as a gift by a voodoo priestess to a little boy, it would seem that the woman didn’t like the family because through the dolls time there it terrorized the whole family.

#8: The Women of Lemb StatueNicknamed "The Goddess of Death,"

#9: "The Anguished Man"
This scary-looking painting was kept in Sean Robinson's grandmother's attic for twenty-five years before he inherited it from her. She had always told Robinson that the painting was evil, and the artist who had created it had used his own blood mixed with the paint, and had killed himself shortly after completing it. She claimed to hear voices and crying when the painting was displayed, and to see the shadowy figure of a man in her house, which is why she locked it away in the attic. As soon as Robinson took the painting into his home, he and his family started experiencing the same kinds of creepy phenomenon. His son fell down the stairs, his wife felt something stroking her hair, and they saw the shadow man and heard crying.Frightened, Robinson soon put the painting down in his basement, but he is not interested in selling it.

musiwa95: I beg to disagree with you, I am an Engineer, that is not a normal building collapsing, that is a terror attack. If a building has structure problem, it will gradually crack or even if that collapse was same day, it will give few minute to go down. That was man made collapse building.

1. pictures onlines does not show any earth crust shift..in its foundation . Which could make it collapse.

2. The building had enough reinforcement from one side.. It had 10 reinforcement, beam looks Ok

3. The distance of the floor space to each others.. looks Ok from picture.. I would say about 7.5-8 feet. Which is Ok

4. There was no earthquake

5. The helicopter vibration was not enough to bring it down

6. History of the area may have been Swamping but, because there are no visible earth crust shift. I pass it.

My conclusion.. they either planted bomb at the base or earth shift or the helicopter had something, it is carrying to blow it up.

I believe there most be standard the way, they build in nigeria.
if you an engineer with all these your analysis, then you'll have to return your certificate... which standard states that a two story base foundation can carry 3 more floors built on it... and in which country does it take a planted bomb to explode after one hour, if you are an engineer, you could have looked at video critically to notice the time difference in the cctv footage and find out that it was edited to serve the purpose of deceiving ppl including an engineer like you....smh

2. Y did it take them a whole day to release d video if it was actually caught on camera by their CCTV?

3. Therefore i think dis tape is mere fabrication.

And less i forget, d owner of dat voice shud b arrested.
that is cos they had to edit the video.. the time interval bw the last flight and the collapse is a whole one hour... watch the video again looking at the time on the cctv

EducationRe: Some English Words With Nigerian Origin. by Bezed(m): 10:58am On Sep 12, 2014
ZACHIE: This is misinforming.
The etymologies of the specific words you listed up there are not exclusive, rather borderline assumptions.
Okra,Juju,Tango, etc have much wider spread and use than Nugeria.
The only genuine addition to English language in that list is a Yoruba word: DASHIKI which describes a traditional clothing item.
There are indeed several other words absolved into English emanating from Nigeria b7t certainly not the ones captured by the op in that they are not exclusive.
SUSU is exclusive in area catchment, meaning and application.
I will update this later.
you are the one missinforming your self and others who are busy liking your comment without proper verification, you think the o.p just stood up and started assuming... any way, for that of okra; The word okra is of Nigerian origin and is cognate with ọkwurụ in the Igbo language spoken in Nigeria.[2]Okra is often known as "lady's fingers" outside of Africa.source(Wikipedia.com)

for juju, juju noun1.an object venerated superstitiously and used as a fetish or amulet by tribal peoples of West Africa.
2.the magical power attributed to such an object.
3.a ban or interdiction effected by it.OriginHausa1890-1895 source(dictionary.com)

Stop supporting lame duck projects.

It's simply unacceptable for Nigeria.
you don't not understand me., I do not support a badly executed project... all I was complaining about is how we Nigerians criticize and blows things out of prop.. you earlier said something about those other floodings been caused by maybe typhoon... why I'm saying this about this particular topic is cos I 've been there.. the topography is not even close to being a flood prone zone, but this has happened, which means there must be an extra amount of rainfall than usual..for me when I'll refer to it as a bad project is if necessary things are not done to avert such from happening again since it has started happening... blame it on climate change..

Maybe those floods were caused by typhoons and such??
like you said "strive" such news about such flooding has never been seen in that airport , which makes it a new development, so the striving aspect would now be placed into consideration.. this is like to say an earthquake happens in Nigeria and we start blaming ppl for not makin the house that were affected to be strong like that of the Western world , without considering the fact that the western world puts the consideration of having an earthquake implace be4 construction...even here if you try to put the American standards into place in a building, our contractors will simply tell you that it is a waste of material
