Lots of power but using 1/2 the fuel of the older generation, and better speed. I know the new Camry muzzle (07 ) is priced north of 2.5M Naira,  My Touring  is offered way below current market and well below value of 3M Naira

This is not a baby car it's performance is awesome. Please review the specs and pictures enclosed, additional information available to serious buyer's.

Car Talk › Re: Choose Btw Toyota Highlander And Honda Accord by bfire(m): 10:17am On Dec 03, 2011
The two vehicles serve a different purpose on the road even though they are both basically to commute from one point to anoter.

Highlander V6 AWD is preferable. The I4 cylinder will move the same traction as the accord hence the 4 cylinder accord is preferable to 4 cylinder highlander,

Man, go for the V6 highlander AWD.

Politics › Re: 15-Year-Old Used Rail Coaches Are "Good Enough" - Fashola by bfire(m): 5:36pm On Oct 16, 2011
There was nothing, i repeat nothing wrong with those coaches LSG bought from Toronto. They were all still in use but because they are changing to a newer faster model that was why they had to sell those to finance the current sub-way trains.

It will actually take 5 - 6yrs to build newer coaches to specification. They are not building just a coach and there are things that had to be modified to the existing sysytem and usage before you can say the coaches are ready; it takes time; not 1 day, moths on 1 year.

In order to effect changes and get to where Lagos state is, the action taken by Fashola becomes necessary and he has done very well. That is governance.

Those coaches just need little modification which he has mentioned.

These things he has done go into his record. You are either a winner or loser. He has chosen to follow his dream for Lagos and he'll get there.

It appears the FG has removed the Cargo Tracking Note (CTN) palaver and about 10 clustered government agencies that gathered at the Nations port doing nothing but extorting importers.

Jonathan got this one right.
Car Talk › Re: The Confessions Of A Crooked Car Dealer. by bfire(m): 7:30pm On Oct 10, 2011
It is criminal to have a roll-back odometer on any car and it's a stupid act in my own opinion.

Actually, there are lots of low mileage older vehicles that may not necessarily follows the normal mileage reading/accrued.

There are instances also where the owner might have changed the engine to a newer better lower mileage but the rules in North America do not allow roll back.

The most important thing to a buyer is to drive, inspect the car to understand how good it is. Mileage, low or high do not make a car better; all depends on the maintenance attitudes of the owner. In a nutshell, there are cars of 150,000 miles that will handle and perform better than 15,000miles car.

Car Talk › Re: What Are The Pros, Cons And Costs Of Buying Salvaged Cars? by bfire(m): 11:54pm On Sep 27, 2011
This is a clean title car .
Avoid it.
When rebuilt, you hardy noticed the accident and it is a "clean title"

Car Talk › Re: What Are The Pros, Cons And Costs Of Buying Salvaged Cars? by bfire(m): 11:50pm On Sep 27, 2011
Clean title:

These cars are the most desirable if you actually know what you are looking for and can afford it.

Clean. What it is:

Some cars are decleared clean even if they've been a an accident before. This depends entirely on the adjuster opinion. Mind you some cars are never reported accidented and will have a clean title history.

What are the tricks?
In some states, as soon as a vehicle is rebuilt, it becomes a clean title car ( cleaned salvage cars).

In some instances car are presumed clean title when the owner have a first choice of buying back the car after an accident for a consideration of a lower compensation from the insurance company.

What you should do:
Some clean title/repaired cars are so well repaired that you hardly noticed the difference.
Check by taking a test drive.
Check the door rail/guard/panel.
Open the hood/bonnet to check the frame.
Open the trunk/booth to check the tire storage compartment.
Check car history.

Remember there's always a choice of the; good, bad and worse.

There are those who could afford to marry a queen and others can only marry an orange hawker. You decide what is good for you, can afford and will make you happy.
Car Talk › Re: What Are The Pros, Cons And Costs Of Buying Salvaged Cars? by bfire(m): 11:32pm On Sep 27, 2011
Honestly ignorance is surely a disease.

Lets break it down this way and write  the little i know because i dont build the vehicles.

Salvage : what it is:

Vehicles are classified salvage when insurance adjuster declared it so whether the damage is substantial or not. The Ministry of Transportation, in North America, say such vehicles are repairable/rebuilt and should pass certain test for it to be on the road.

Why salvaged? Many things make a vehicle salvage. Flood is one of those thing. Road impact , small or big; hard or scratches. Hail, blood stains, vandalism and theft recovery and many more.

What you should ask the seller when buying a salvage.
Let the seller shows you pictures of the damages sustained by the vehicle.
Test drive the vehicle.
Demand for alignment if you agree to purchase the car.
If hail or flood vehicle make sure you are taken to a diagnosis center of your choice for electrical examination.

What you should not buy:

Viperman has already stated it.

The good:
Most of these vehicles are daily driven before the accident occured which seems to suggest that the car is road worthy.

The bad:
If it is not new, it's not the same as new. Salvage or not.

Nisan Pathfinder 991/2 - 2000: this is good on suspension and fuel consumption of 3.3L engine

The 2001 - 2004 :also good on suspension and a 3.5L engine.

The 2005 upward is a monster performance with a 4.0L engine and it consumes fuel more.

Honda Pilot:

2003 - 2005 is a beast on it's own with a good handling why driving and consumption is a 3.5L engine.

2006 - 2008 is very sleek with a good body trim that helps in performance also with a 3.5L engine and a better improvement on the tranny.

Toyota Highlander:

2001 - 2003 is the best in engine performance (not power oo pilot is more powerful) overall

2004 - 2007 same body shape only the light and grille mounted on a 3.3L engine.

On USA SUVs: your best bet is Ford Edge

On Mitsubishi truck: go for Montero/Pajero.

No, lease is not prepaid for the entire period of the agreement. The parties may agree on payment structure which must not contradict existing property laws.

There are terms and conditions that should be agreed to by the lessor and the lessee. Any such agreement is what is binding on both party.

Yes, the agreement is better compared to month to month rentals and guarantees the lessor (landlord) of a steady income.
Properties › Re: My Landlord Insists On 1year Rent. by bfire(m): 4:09pm On Sep 05, 2011
@Coogar:
Full rent? Please, explain.

It's a pay as you go monthly thing and lease would not bind you to pay, say 2ys lease, total lease due for 2yrs at once. No?
Properties › Re: My Landlord Insists On 1year Rent. by bfire(m): 3:58pm On Sep 05, 2011
Lease, in the context of rental property, do not allow you to collect multiple years rent. It only binds you to an agreement for a specified minimum rental period.
Properties › Re: My Landlord Insists On 1year Rent. by bfire(m): 3:33pm On Sep 05, 2011
@Spyder:
Im very disappointed about the way you are tacitly implying that the landlord is right.

Though, it's your opinion that matters to you, there are some of us here who likes your style and assume you stand for the truth and the rule of law.

Yes, you are not the only one commenting on this  topic, but you are a very big house member on the property section and your opinion counts a lot just as much as Lawyer's and Nexthome.

The law has been enacted it is therefore important that we adhere to the rules. There are no other ways to it. Whether you own  a property or you feel bad about  it does not matter as such since it was done to protect the weak and majorities.

It does  not count whether Fashola, Tinubu or Jonathan are selling  a plot in space  for N10b naira. We must learn  to put  our law and fellow human beings first.  Anyways, we'll not carry all these wealth to heaven now. Haba!
