You have a good point. The problem is the law of the state should work if the government want it to work.

Let me ask some of you questions.

How many of you pay 2yrs in advance to PHCH

How many of you pay your govt fees in advance for 2yrs

How many of you pay your workers for 2yrs

How many of you pay your community fees in advance for 2yrs

Properties › Re: Collect More Than 6 Months’ Rent, Go To Jail, Fashola Tells Landlords by bfire(m): 12:18am On Aug 26, 2011
Is it not greed that's making most of us collect more than month to month rent or probably financial mismanagement.

Whether you collect month to month or 1month and another month for deposit it amounts to same 2yrs rent. The problem is most of the landlord lack financial discipline not that they are really investing in real estate rather they marry more wiffy or get a chiefee title.

These houses we build will at least last for 30yrs unless you build 'manage' stuff. Try to create a separate account for your real estate and you'll be surprise how the money will grow.

Please, respect the law of the state. If you don't you are as bad as the politicians you call rogues, corrupt, evil etc.
Politics › Re: How Chinese Firm Sabotages Power Supply – Fg by bfire(m): 5:40am On Aug 23, 2011
It's very sad that the level of corruption in this country is the worst i've noticed in all the places i've been to.

How on earth are you suppose to get a good return from a country that sells/export 98% of generator we use in this country when it comes to building us a good power plant. Has corruption "congeal" our brain from functioning?
Business › Re: How Far Is Nigeria From Economic Growth? by bfire(m): 2:20am On Aug 12, 2011
In terms of growth we have not actually been able to understand where we are or the economic challenges we are facing. These problems are:
-Impact of globalization
-Information technology
-The challenges of emerging economy
In other for us to overcome these challenges we need to:
- be innovative
- invest more locally
- people should be allow to contribute:do something unique; going local; become indispensable; be versatile ( language and maths)

We can fix these problems now by:
fixing it now;
end irrational spending - security votes;
invest instead of consuming.
getting the jobs back by making the young work force more competitive
improve education - emphasis on training. retraining and technical education
research more on local contents.

In my opinion, the government role should be geared towards:
-human elements that are actually the catalyst for innovation by putting in place an action plan for renovating and rediscovery of self
-giving innovation tax and exclusions
-setting up innovation funds
-reducing spending on current expenditures

I personally believe that our resolve to be bigger economically is not been tested or pursued from a real sense of urgency. It is also my believe that we are a sleeping giant
Car Talk › Re: Tokunbohs Are Now Very Scarce In The U.S. by bfire(m): 3:22pm On Aug 10, 2011
Honestly, this problem is getting worse by the day. Imagine the prices increasing by about 20 - 25% at the auction; it's killing.

Most of the dealers i know here have actually scaled down on exporting all these Japanese products to Nigeria. In about 3 - 6 months time, if this trend continues, it's going to be difficult getting cheap tokunbo's, salvaged or non-salvaged.

If you factored in the Naira palaver, it's going to affect many automobile products like, parts, lubricants and so many more.

How do you plan to survive the onslaught that these double edge sword, vis, Naira and auction price going up?
Business › Re: Questions On Non-Interest Banking For Mallam Sanusi by bfire(m): 9:00pm On Jul 31, 2011
There's nothing like free banking.

Please stop deceiving yourself and ask relevant questions about how he intends to run this bias bank system.

Let me give you an example:

You want to get a car cash for 1,000,000 Naira cash from the seller, and you don't have such money.

The Islamic bank comes in and tells you that you can take the car. They pay for it on your behalf.

The costs to you from the Islamic bank comes to 3,000,000 Naira to be paid over specified period of time.

Now, tell me who is deceiving who.

Just another useless religious bigotry that often time divide this country; who needs this bank anyways.

Autos › Re: Attention : All Auto Dealers And Sellers On Nairaland by bfire(m): 5:19pm On Jul 24, 2011
Please, i will refer you to a site called KIJIJI. It's sponsored by eBay and more like NL see and read how things are done there; free. And none ever asks for any form of identification because it's a free listed site.

Study it very well and don't get yourself entangle into any cob-web because some people want to promote their own integrity.

You are in a business where you don't charge for adverts and as such should not involve yourself in any others persons legal obligation. Let anyone who wants to be proven find a lawyer to do his/her job. Face your own core business.
Autos › Re: Attention : All Auto Dealers And Sellers On Nairaland by bfire(m): 5:06pm On Jul 24, 2011
This appears to be a very good idea; appears.

Now, have you guys really done your home work as to understand the ramifications in law of what you are getting to?

If, by any chance of imagination, NL endorsed a member on this forum and there happens to be any problem(s), you are bound also by law to have been an accomplice.

It's not only on auto sections that big price items are sold and advertised; there's the property section, computer/technology section, are you going to enforce this same idea on there.

Let's remove personal interest and sentiments from all this idea and we might save us alot of embarrassing situations. The're those who don't do pre-order and should not in the first place be included on this demand that they provide their personal information. Besides, the forum is a free site for your advert and should remain so until changes are made.

Let's, i repeat, not bring personal feeling/sentiments into this auto section. If we MUST do this, it should also apply to all other section on NL where price items are sold/advertised for sale.
