Exnavyboy62:Thanks for defining what terrorism his, I have stated in my previous comments, some Arab countries have been supporting, funding and harboring terrorist organizations, likewise the US government sponsoring terrorism covertly. One of them attacked Israel on October 7th, An evil act that woke the sleeping lion; thanks to HAMAS, Israeli intelligence might not discover tunnels used for smuggling arms and ammunition into Israel for future attacks. Whatever is happening to Palestine, Lebanon, and Iran today is a fact and testament of past reality that Israel is surrounded by enemies and they can never be trusted. Israel has learnt a lesson from the Six-Day War and Yom Kippur War, They cannot afford to lower there gaurd down. |

Nigeria Must Fence Its Borders To Be Secure - Musa https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Su1Bk-GcS8?si=RUMYA8K63uOsmTp5 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QAVygTUXS2E?si=b1Nb0-Iwf2Eu-Y1e Take away from the CDS's words: it's high time we start planning on how we erect fences on our porous borders. Like he said, the Sahel region is heating up on a daily basis. Entrenched insurgency driven by armed Islamist groups affiliated with al-Qaeda (JNIM) and the so-called Islamic State Sahel Province are attacking and taking over military formations and if this persists, Nigeria might be soon. It's high time cattle ranches/grazing reserves should be established. The recent killings and attacks in Edo & Benue states between farmers and herders have become a recurring incident; the rate seems to be increasing in recent times. It appears the word FORGIVENESS is not in the dictionary of both parties; hence, the almost vicious cycle of attacks and counter- attacks |

VonSmallhausen:You've made a valid point here mate. I would say we are not over focusing on strike equipment, and there is nothing like overkill when dealing with terrorists, bandits, and other criminal syndicate. We need to send a clear message. You mean our Mi-35M gunships, not the Mil-28. Talking about the chopper-borne troop-carrying capacity, I think that should not be a priority for now given the current threat situation. Our ground fighting force needs all the adequate air cover they can get, both fixed-wing and rotary assets. For the Mil-28, we can get few for now for logistic roles, I think the NAF brass are just placing there priorities amongst scarce resources. |

Exnavyboy62:I think the military problem is to keep sustaining this types of offensive, taking the fight to the enemy, the airforce carrying out more ISR missions, interdiction and timely ground support for surface troops. I know this entails alot of funding from the government, For the fencing thing, I don't see that happening soon and foe me it's not a solution ending cross border attacks from terrorist, they can easily blow up such gence and make way anywhere. We've seen this criminals blowing up power grids easily without been caught. |
Again, NAF Jets Decimate Terrorist Enclave in Bukar Meram in Lake Chad As part of ongoing efforts to sustain pressure on terrorist elements and deny them freedom of action, the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) has conducted another successful air interdiction mission at a terrorist enclave in Bukar Meram, located in the southern axis of the Lake Chad region. Zagazola Makama was reliably informed by sources that the mission, which was executed in the early hourz of Monday, June 9, at about 0545 hours, was carried out under the auspices of Operation KALACHEN WUTA II. The sources said that the operation formed part of a broader strategy aimed at disrupting terrorist activities before, during, and after the Eid-el-Kabir Sallah period. He said that intelligence-led surveillance revealed that the terrorists were regrouping at the Bukar Meram location with intent to launch coordinated attacks on Marte and Monguno general areas. Prompted by this credible intelligence, the Air Component swiftly mobilised to engage the enclave. Airstrikes were conducted with precision, leading to the neutralisation of several terrorists. The strikes also resulted in the destruction of critical terrorist logistics, including supply vehicles, makeshift shelters, and weapons storage points. The decimation of the enclave not only inflicted significant losses on the terrorists but also disrupted their operational planning and movement. The sources added that Battle Damage Assessment (BDA) conducted after the mission confirmed that the planned attacks on Marte and Monguno were effectively thwarted. Further intelligence gathering is ongoing to assess enemy reactions and possible movement patterns following the successful interdiction. Ground troops have also been placed on heightened alert to exploit the gains of the airstrike and maintain pressure on fleeing remnants. |
