Troops exploit airstrike site in Chonogolo Kura, neutralise terrorist, destroy hideouts Troops of 21 Special Armoured Brigade (SAB) under Operation Hadin Kai have conducted a successful exploitation of the airstrike location at Chonogolo Kura, Borno State, neutralising a terrorist and destroying several enclaves and logistics structures. Zagazola report that the exploitation followed an airstrike carried out at about 10:40 a.m. on Feb. 3 on terrorist hideouts in the Chonogolo Kura area. Sources said that at about 12:45 p.m. the same day, troops of 21 SAB departed to assess the Battle Damage Assessment (BDA) and the impact of the strike “Troops arrived the objective observed that the general area of Chonogolo Kura with several new enclaves was very active, but the effect of the strike was huge. “The remaining terrorists fled in different directions as own troops approached the location,” the sources stated. According to the sources, troops exploited up to a one-kilometre radius around the target area and discovered medical treatment items believed to have been used to treat injured terrorists. “During the exploitation, troops neutralised one terrorist sighted hibernating within the shrubs. “Troops also discovered and set ablaze harvested guinea corn belonging to the terrorists from their large farm. “Thereafter, troops destroyed some of their life-support structures. Signs of a fresh grave were also observed,” it added. The military said movement during the operation was hitch-free, adding that the general security situation across the area remains calm. It noted that troops’ morale and fighting efficiency remain satisfactory, as operations continue to degrade terrorist capabilities and deny them freedom of action in the North-East. Source: @Zagazola

EXCLUSIVE ON TERRORIST DETENTION FACILITIES DEEP INSIDE THE TIMBUKTU TRIANGLE DESTROYED BY TROOPS OF OPERATION HADIN KAI Troops of the Joint Task Force North East Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), recorded a major operational breakthrough following a carefully coordinated operations in the last 2 weeks leading to the capture and destruction of notorious ISWAP terrorists detention facility deep within the forested Timbuktu Triangle in Gujba Local Government Area. The development marks a significant advance into areas long considered beyond the reach of security forces and underscores the growing effectiveness and sustainability of ongoing counter-insurgency operations. The operation was conducted as part of Operation DESERT SANITY V, following sustained offensive pressure and intelligence-led manoeuvres that forced terrorist elements to abandon critical facilities deep within their strongholds. Their exposure and destruction clearly demonstrate that troops of OPHK have advanced well into inner sanctuaries of ISWAP terrorists denying the group both physical space and psychological advantage. From 21 January 2026 to date, troops uncovered and destroyed 3 major terrorists detention facilities concealed within the Timbuktu Triangle forest which stretches across Borno and Yobe states. Preliminary assessments indicated that the facilities had the capacity to hold up to 300 detainees, highlighting their strategic importance to ISWAP terrorists operational and coercive framework. Further findings indicated that sustained offensive action by troops directly led to the escape of over 70 captives previously held by the terrorists. This was corroborated by many of the escaped captives who later resurfaced in several villages like Goniri, Buratai and Mandaragirau among others. One of the escapees, Malam Jidda Ba Jidda, a native of Kufi village near Buratai in Biu LGA who was abducted on 22 December 2025, disclosed that he escaped during the gun duel between the terrorists and advancing troops in the Timbuktu Triangle. During the series of encounters in the Timbuktu Triangle, ISWAP suffered significant combat losses, with no fewer than 32 fighters neutralised, including 2 Qaids and 3 Munzirs, while several others sustained serious injuries during fierce engagements with troops Following thorough clearance of the area, the 3 detention facilities were deliberately demolished, permanently denying ISWAP the ability to reuse or reoccupy the site. The operation was conducted successfully and without incident, reflecting the resilience, professionalism, discipline and combat effectiveness of the troops of OPHK. The destruction of the detention camp marks more than a tactical victory. It degrades ISWAP’s internal enforcement mechanisms, disrupts the terrorists ability to detain and collect ransom from civilians, and further constricts their freedom of action. The escape of a large number of detainees not only deprives the terrorists of a key tool of funding, but also undermines their control over local populations while potentially providing valuable intelligence and testimonies that can aid ongoing operations. While the general security situation across the Theatre remains calm but unpredictable, troops’ morale and fighting efficiency remain satisfactory. The Armed Forces remain committed to sustaining pressure on terrorist elements, denying them safe havens, and restoring lasting peace and security across the North East of SANI UBA Lieutenant Colonel Media Information Officer Headquarters Joint Task Force North East Operation HADIN KAI 3 February 2026

bidexiii:OPERATION FANSAN YAMMA: TROOPS STORM NOTORIOUS BANDIT KINGPIN GWASKA DAN KARMI’S STRONGHOLD IN ZAMFARA, NEUTRALISE SCORES Troops of 8 Division Nigerian Army operating under Sector 2 Operation FANSAN YAMMA In a fierce firefight have successfully neutralise scores of bandits in the camp of notorious bandit leader Gwaska Dan Karmi after a fierce gun battle in Maru Local Government of Zamfara State. The operation was triggered by credible intelligence revealing that over 100 bandits had gathered at the camp to coordinate large-scale attacks on local communities and military supply lines. Following days of intensive surveillance, ground troops supported by the Nigerian Air Force (NAF), intercepted the bandits on January 31, 2026. A fierce firefight ensued as the terrorists attempted a flanking and encircle manoeuver. However, they were overwhelmed by the superior firepower of the troops While many bandits were eliminated, others fled iwith gunshot wounds. The Camp was set ablaze before the troops withdraw. The NAF component is currently conducting interdiction missions to intercept the fleeing remnants, while ground troops maintain dominance over the area. Regrettably, some gallant soldiers paid the supreme price during the fierce encounter and one combat enabler vehicle was hit by the enemy's Rocket Propelled Gun,which caught fire. The Nigerian Army honours fallen soldiers' sacrifice and remains determined in its mission. Combat efficiency remains high as troops continue to dismantle bandit networks and disrupt their supply chains across the region. BREAKING: Finland jails Simon Ekpa six years for terrorism, tax fraud By: Zagazola Makama A Finnish court has sentenced Simon Ekpa, a self-acclaimed Prime Minister of Biafra, to six years imprisonment for terrorism offences and tax fraud. The Päijät-Häme District Court found Ekpa guilty of inciting a public crime committed with terrorist intent, participating in the activities of a terrorist group, aggravated tax fraud, and violating the Attorneys Act. According to the court, Ekpa sought to promote the independence of the Biafra region in southeastern Nigeria by illegal means between August 2021 and November 2024. The court said he used social media to build a politically influential position while supporting groups designated as terrorist organisations. It said the movement under Ekpa established armed groups, supplied with weapons, explosives, and ammunition through his network of contacts. “Ekpa urged and enticed his followers on his X account to commit crimes in Nigeria,” the court said. The conviction marks the most high-profile ruling in Finland involving terrorism-related offences linked to Nigeria. @DHQNigeria @HQNigerianArmy
