MEET THE NIGERIAN NAVY PERSONNEL WHO GUNNED DOWN FIVE ARMED ROBBERS IN CALABAR

Mohammed Mubarak is a sea man, a gallant marksman and a skillful Navy Personnel. His display during the encounter with armed men that attacked Uddy King Filling Station in Calabar some time ago has gained him recognitions and awards.

He recently received a Gold Medal award from the Eastern Naval Command of the Nigerian Navy in Calabar for displaying such gallantry and bravery act in bringing down the bandits.

Mubarak was said to have returned fire in the defence of himself and passerby and his courage and marksmanship even in the adverse conditions led to the killing of the 5-man gang and seizure of their weapons.

The Flag Officer Commanding Eastern Naval Command, who presented him with the Gold Medal Award, said the Gold Medal Award is for any personnel that distinguish themselves for bravery and gallantry.

If the Nigerian Navy or other Security agencies in the country can have skillful, gallant men like Mubarak, robbery and other criminal activities would reduce and peace returned to the country.

The issue of Robbery, Kidnapping and Killing has become a usual activity in the Country as the security system is porous, posing threat and fear in the minds of Nigerians as no one knows who could be the next victim

The Islamic State claims to have killed 90 fighters of “a militia” affiliated with the Nigerian army near Borno

Wow (not good)... potentially huge shift in targeting. If ISWAP now considers villagers "allied" w army as targets & justifies massacring them, it could mean victimizing large #'s of civilians, unlike ISWAP b4 (but akin to Shekau). Will moderate factions emerge? Will this b 1off?

Common man, two force men. Not one o. Two force men. No way.

They would still die anyway, why not fight and get killed. Am sorry, i would never be in that situation. But two sensible force men would have plotted something. And fought to death rather than kneel down and get shot. No way....

Did you call those men gallant?

A soldier and a policeman could not wrestle those terrorists. Except they are more than 5, I will fight them and get killed, rather than kneel down like that.

Why kneel down to get shot? Smh. There are few 'men' in today's world.

grin The wails for BTR-80, no be today we don de cry am. As for cougar, maxxpro etc, they all are in the weight class of the Ara the same guy was lampooning for being "too heavy".

Sometimes, the fish of komekn's post has too many heads.
Yeap I know but the Proforce do not have the capacity of producing over 100 vehicle a year and we can’t wait for them.
Am talking about immediate use and MRAP with RWS we really need a handful of them. Buying this fairly used vehicles from Russia and America, that’s doesn't stop us from still patronizing Proforce has they do not produce RWS and other surveillance equipment.

If you say it's not a BTR 60 then tell us what it is please. Please educate me.

Below a picture of the more updated recommended BTR 80, with a 30 mm cannon. Far from perfect but much better than a soft skinned pick up gun truck.
Honestly I wouldn’t mind the NA getting this BTR80 and other variants mixed with fairly used Maxxpro MRAP and Cougar MRAP with some that comes with the RWS for immediate use grin

It doesn’t stop us from patronizing Proforce and other indigenous companies.
