JUST IN. Nigerian Army participates in Ex CAMBRIAN PATROL in Wales UK: Officers and soldiers of the NA actively took part in EX CAMBRIAN PATROL which is the world’s toughest patrolling test organised by the British Army in Wales and hosted by 160 Infantry Brigade. They distinguished themselves and were given a commendation for their debut performance.

Exercise Cambrian Patrol itself began in 1959, when a group of Welsh Territorial Army soldiers designed a weekend training event, featuring long distance marching over the Cambrian Mountains, culminating in a shooting match on the Sennybridge Training Area.
The COAS Lt Gen TY Buratai has commended the contingent for doing the NA and Nigeria proud during the competition.

Speaking during the commissioning, the Guest of Honour, the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, represented by the Chief of Administration, Headquarters NAF, Air Vice Marshal Kingsley Lar, stated that the project was geared towards enhancing the welfare of personnel to enable them focus on their duties and contribute more meaningfully in adding value to the Service. While congratulating the beneficiaries of the new accommodation, the CAS enjoined them to make the best use of the facilities and also ensure its proper maintenance at all times. Air Marshal Abubakar also seized the opportunity to thank the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari for the continued support that had enabled the NAF record numerous remarkable feats within the past 3 years.

Earlier in his welcome address, the Commander 251 Base Services Group Bauchi, Group Captain Mohammed Aliyu, expressed appreciation to the CAS, under whose visionary leadership the NAF has been soaring to greater heights. According to him, the newly commissioned project would further reduce the burden of accommodation on the Base. Henry240:
The Nigerian Air Force has again confirmed the service is in the process of acquiring the JF-17 Thunder.

The Air Force has taken an incremental approach to the induction of the JF-17. Considering the fact that it does not operate an advanced modern fighter other than a number of F-7NI which are a variant of F-7MG.

It seems sensible to have ordered 3 or 6 JF-17, on which maintenance crews would get trained, followed by pilots that will form the core and be available for follow-on inductions.

The Tucano which is the more strategic and tactical aircraft the NAF requires at this time has so far being paid in full.

Another reason why the light purchase of the JF-17 is a masterstroke by the Nigerian Air Force is, it leaves room for a future purchase of the more advanced JF-17 Block III fighters with a large number of pilots and ground crew already trained.

By this time next year, the Nigerian Air Force would have trained nearly 150 pilots in 4 years. Impressive!
I have these strong feeling that in the coming airforce annual budget 2 jf17 would be paid for, till the required numbers are reached.
In the last two years budget, two new jf17 jets where been paid for.
