Hulu:Am hearing this for the 1st time yesterday, but it's possible. |
Odunayaw:Hmmmmm I havent thought in that direction, @odunayaw is making a valid point. Let's take Egypt for an example; they bough one of the largest if not the largest fleets of F16 from the United States. But Uncle Sam has refused the Egyptian airforce air-to-air missiles with a range greater than 85 km, restricting there airforce long/medium air-to-air missile arsenal to the AIM-7 Sparrow and 35 km shorter ranged AIM-9 Sidewinders. However, in response to the pause, the Egyptian military undertook drastic measures to counterbalance their country’s dependency on U.S. military hardware. Towards the end of that year, Egypt began negotiating the purchase of Russia’s MiG-29M2 fighter jets, Ka-52 helicopters and Antey-2500 anti-ballistic missile systems. By 2015, Egypt concluded a deal with France to procure Rafale fighter jets and a FREMM frigate. Lesson our top brass should learn is "dont put all your egg in one basket". |
ocelot2006:The Mi-35m is an agile rotary aircraft inbits class and I'll want us to procure more of them. But we still need other dedicated attack aircraft like the T129 etc The viper is also a good purchase but guys are just infuriated by the price tag and for the fact that we are not getting any missiles with it. Don't forget that this deal was between both governments, the AH-1Z procurement was estimated by the US Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) to be valued at USD997 million. If it there was a middle men/contractor one would think that the prise was infliated or suspicious. This deal includes the helicopters, related equipment & future upgrades, spare parts, weapons/ammo, training, and support. American military hardwares are f-u-c-k-e-n expensive, especially airforce hardwares. For me I love the viper and the deal itself but my only pain is that we are not getting any missiles. And this might change in the future. |

Odunayaw: ![]() Why ? Hisbit because we are bot getting any missiles ? Or his because of the sexy T129 ATAK. |
kenpaul0:I doubt if they would ever do that, even the NAF that releases videos in the time past has stopped long ago. Nigerian military takes and operates strict secrecy in its operations unlike militaries like Mali, Burkina Faso that releases drone strikes/operational videos. |

NAF ESCALATES AERIAL ASSAULTS ON TERRORISTS MAUDI MAUDI AND ALHAJI NASHAMA’S ENCLAVES IN KATSINA AND ZAMFARA STATES, ELIMINATE SCORES AND DESTROY THEIR STRONGHOLDS Air strikes conducted by the air component of Operation Hadarin Daji on terrorists’ enclaves in Safana Local Government of Katsina State have yielded the requisite outcome. The strikes, carried out on 5 March 2024, were executed at the stronghold of the infamous terrorist leader, Maudi Maudi, and several other terrorist kingpins situated south of Tsaskiya in Safana Local Government Area (LGA) of Katsina State. The strikes were prompted by painstaking Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance operations conducted in the targeted vicinity where clusters of huts were observed amid rocky terrain. The surveillance also confirmed a substantial presence of armed terrorists loitering among the huts, after which the authourization to strike was obtained. A post-strike Battle Damage Assessment revealed the targeted location engulfed in flames, with a few survivors observed fleeing to safety. Though several terrorists were eliminated, it remains unconfirmed if Maudi Maudi was among those neutralized. Similar strikes were also carried out on 6 March 2024 at the stronghold of notorious terrorist kingpin, Alhaji Na-Shama, situated to the East of Ussu village within the Nasarawar Mailayi District in the Birnin Magaji LGA of Zamfara State. Reliable human intelligence has confirmed the neutralization of several of Na-Shama's associates and the total obliteration of his camp and logistics. It is yet to be confirmed if Na-Shama was among the victims. The precision strikes by NAF aircraft have continued to give the expected outcomes with the elimination of several terrorists and the destruction of their means of mobility. These efforts served to protect civilian lives as well as disrupt their logistics support bases and motorcycles. This proactive approach aligns with the mission objectives of Operation Hadarin Daji, which majorly focuses on securing the Northwestern region of Nigeria from the menace of terrorism, kidnapping and banditry. Ukraine Is Now Fighting Russia in Sudan In fighting against In fighting against Russian-backed rebels in Sudan, Ukraine hopes to make the war more costly for Moscow, Sudan’s military ruler, Lt. Gen. Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, asked Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky for help after being besieged in the Sudanese capital, Khartoum, by rebel's Rapid Support Forces in Summer 2023. ▪️ Burhan had been quietly supplying Ukraine with weapons since shortly after Russia invaded Ukraine in 2022, according to Ukrainian and Sudanese military officials. ▪️ Within a few weeks of the appeal, Ukrainian special forces arrived in Sudan and began fighting to push the rebel forces out of the capital, Khartoum, according to several Ukrainian soldiers involved in the operation. ▪️ The first wave of Ukrainian troops—nearly 100 soldiers, mostly from HUR’s Timur unit—landed on a charter jet in Sudan in mid-August 2023. ▪️ Theie first mission was to help get Burhan out of Khartoum, where the Rapid Support Forces had surrounded him. But not long after they arrived, Burhan drove in a convoy to the compound outside the capital where the Ukrainians were based. His guards had smuggled him out of Khartoum, according to Sudanese officials. ▪️ The Ukrainians helped their Sudanese allies with acquiring Turkish Bayraktar TB2 UCAVs, which arrived in February 2024, according to a Sudanese military official and an RSF adviser. (Officials from HUR declined to comment about helping Sudan procure Bayraktars). |
