2. Does anyone know if plug-in hybrid (PHEV) or fully electric vehicles are allowed to be used for ride-hailing services in Nigeria? I'm curious about the regulations around vehicle types there.

6years on the road as an Uber pilot.... The best car u can get with ur budget is Honda civic 2004/2005, not EOD or DC oh.... Another good car ur budget can get is Ford focus, just be sure to do thorough inspection before payment.... But if I'm the one buying personally, I'll buy a manual Peugeot 307, super great car with madt fuel efficiency, but u need high level of experience like mine to handle and enjoy a 307..... Regd Honda crosstour available?

Just look for an i4, VCM is only on the v6 models, pre 2013 models with the 6 cyl are prone to vcm failing at higher mileage, it was fixed in the earth dreams engine that came in 2013. If you're buying 2010 to 2012 avoid the v6

I would be on the lookout for them here in Nigeria but they seem scarce

Its actually more performance especially ehen you're idling and at lower speeds. VCM basically shuts down 3 cylinders when you don't need the extra power, under hard acceleration it fires up the other 3 giving you better acceleration, turning it off means you always have all 6 cylinders firing but at the expense of fuel economy

Nothing is wrong with the cross tour as long as your engine doesnt have VCM , when it goes gaga you will experience severe vibration and issues

crosstour doesn't stand a chance beside an RX, crosstour is just an accord wagon I mean the accord was butchered at the back and they just added a wagon to it shikena.

Meanwhile, you will not get a Honda DC for 600k, maybe a not so good EOD will will worth 600k

Even the engine+gearbox alone is 400k so how will you get a full clean working Honda DC for 600k?!
In my opinion, My Honda DC is better than the overrated Corolla, but Corolla is priced at 1.5m.
Even if the DC is stolen vehicle, it's worth more than that believe me.

If you really want a clean car, you should be ready to pay the premium price.

You need to increase your budget to get a car that will give you peace of mind and not a 600k car pls.

Honestly, some 2006/7 Accord were brought brand new in Nigeria, and never the newer versions.
I remember Honda place NG making adverts on radio back in the days for the Accord EOD, that was where the word "End of Discussion started from" then later to "Discussion continue".
I bashed another guy claiming an accord 2008 was bought brand new in Naija perviously cos Honda never sold anything 2008 above in Nigeria.
I'm not supporting anybody here, just pointing out the fact.

Thanks a lot for your swift response. My confusion is I need to replace the Charge Controller as soon as I can but I would prefer it to be embedded in the inverter. I saw the prices of Victron and Growatt 3KvA/24V inverter and I think I can afford that.

My dilemma is:

1. Can 1 more 230Ah/12V tall tubular battery be enough for my Load?

2. Is it advisable to use the 280W Solar Panels you proposed in conjunction with the 180W I have before? If so how many more do I need?

I don't mind if you can help me with answers. I have a solar system of Genus 1KvA inverter, 1 230aH/12V Genus Tall Tubular Battery, 4 × 180W Solar Panels and a 60A PWM Solar Charge Controller
The Solar Charge Controller got burnt
That's another story though

Prior to it getting burnt, I inquired from the installer about upgrading the Solar System to accommodate a 1HP Air Condition (Inverter type) and a 250 Litres Deep Freezer

He then told me I would need to buy a 2KVA Inverter, 1 More Battery, 3 More Solar Panels (375W - I suggested that to him though) and I would have to buy another Charge Controller in addition to the one I had (which got burnt presently)

So now that the Charge Controller is burnt, I looked up Luminous Cruze 4KvA Inverter and I think I like it

How many Solar Panels can I use in addition to the ones I have?

Can't I use one charge controllers for everything?

How many batteries will I buy?

Dodge, yes I mean the Dodge Caliber (though it is an hatchback but it has quite a good ground clearance and a sturdy appearance) and for the Pontiac (I mean the Pontiac Torrent)

For the Ford, I know Escape to have parts available, Maybe cause my Godmother uses it (5 years and counting now); less issues so far and it is well maintained..

It depends on what you wanna use your vehicle for, long commutes, daily runarounds within the city etc. I'd have mentioned RAV4 but it is darn expensive and it's beyond the budget you gave. An Honda CRV will be great, but you can barely get toks for that price due to the dollar inflation. A Neatly Naija used will be awesome for that price.

If you are still bent on toks, then the Dodge Caliber and the Pontiac Torrent is good, I saw a Ford Escape on AMDMan thread for 1.7. Check his thread and ask him for both cars, also ask your automedic how good these cars are for further recommendations
