You can't "increase gear performance". You can however increase the ratio, i.e make it higher. Overdrive is like an extra higher gear, for more relaxed motorway cruising. When overdrive is selected, the engine revs will drop, whilst still maintaining the same road speed, or increasing it.

I beg to differ on rule numer one. Am just a year older than my wife and i call the shot any time any day. The most important thing is just to make sure your wife is from a very humble back ground and never ever allow her to dominate all the time . You must disagree to agree. Give her the chance but be in control !
