HealthRe: Evil Nurses & Doctors In Nigerian Public Hospitals by biggaboy: 2:54pm On Jan 28, 2010
The situation in nigeria is quiet pathetic, last year Nov. i lost my new baby due to negligency of the nurses. my wife gave birth to a baby boy 4 min to health centre in ajah ( hospital). instead of the nurses to give my wife and baby the support required , they referered us to akodo/epe general hospital. before we even move an inch the baby has gone , it now remain how to rescue my wife , it was a sad experience, i pray noone experience it again,

to nigerian docs: we need to change the way we do things .if not our family too will invovle one day.

~Sissy~:
sometimes many young couples are so much "in-love" with each that they fail to look in their rear view mirror and i believe its the job and responsibility of parents to advice them, guide them and direct them especially when it comes to marriage. marriage, i believe is a journey, and in that journey one will encounter many storms and waves, the parents are there direct them, tell them what marriage is and not.

even after marriage, i believe they still have a role to play as an outside advisors, however, there should be boundaries as how far they can come. . . . meaning not everything that happens between a couple should they be aware of. inasmuch, they should be there, couples should learn to manage their conflicts and martial issues without a phone call to mommy or daddy.
nice points.
FamilyWhat Are The Roles Of Parents In Their Child Marriage? by biggaboy(op): 2:03pm On Dec 30, 2009
Pls i will like to know the roles of parent in seeing their child (ren) gettting marry. Even after marriage wht are their roles?

I have a guy , that is in love with a girl and the girl love him too, but the girl's parent (mother- a widow) is against it base on religion differences. while the lady in question has already changed to her guy religion. Her relationship with the guy's family is perfect but it is only her family standing as obstacle,

so wht are the roles of parents in marriage?

* Are they to determine spouse for their child?

ojebird8, as biggaboy has said he is not a doctor. I would advice you to ignore him!!! Postinor is whats called morning after pill. As long as it is taken within 72 hours after intercourse it should work. Assuming you girl didn't vomit it up or didn't have diarrhoea at the time. It leads to irregular periods. Advice you use condom in the mean time. Hope you didn't continue with unprotected sex after she took the tablets. Might be worthwhile doing a pregnancy test

dr. balo, am just sharing experience nothing more ,

As for your problem biggaboy, problem with smell could be sinus problem or problem in the front of the brain. Is it complete loss of smell or partial. See an Ear Nose and Throat surgeon and hopefully they might do a chemosensory test on you. Sometimes they might not find the cause. Good luck and no more advice to people on this site from you!!!
thanks.

SportsRe: Siasia, Amodu, You Or A Foreign Coach For Super Eagles Job? by biggaboy: 5:45pm On Oct 08, 2009
o ga gan o, when is nigerians going to  learn? all the time we clamour for change of coach, but most of us  support one or two clubs in europe you never clamour for the removal of the coach immediately the lost major match.as the club mgt will not even change the coach e.g united , aresenal). the coach need time to get things right we should try and always exercise patience with them.
amodu, siasia, they are good caoch as am not in support of any foreign coach, they are here to chop out money and they will be acting  like original but they are fake in there land,

we should give our coach approapriate support whether loss or win. imagine man-u lost  out in first round of champions league 05/06 season , but 06/07 they entered semi-final, 07/08 they win the it, 08/09 final again, feggy still reamin o,

PoliticsWema Bank Sacks 150 Staff by biggaboy(op): 11:08am On Sep 08, 2009
Wema Bank sacks 151 workers, ASSBIFI threatens showdown
By Adeyemi Adepetun

FEARS of job losses in the banking sector yesterday became a reality as Wema Bank Plc disengaged about 151 workers, in what was described as the first phase of the workforce trimming exercise.

The sack was confirmed to The Guardian yesterday by the Head, Corporate Affairs Department of the bank, Mr. Tunde Olofintila in a telephone interview.

Olofintila, said: "Some workers have been disengaged, but up till now, letters of termination are still being dispatched. I will however not be able to confirm the exact figure."

But citing illegality in the workers' sack, the Association of Senior Staff of Banks, Insurance and Financial Institutions (ASSBIFI), has said that it would shut down the bank until the action was reversed.

ASSBIFI explained that it decided on the option as the organisation did not follow due process of the law.

In a statement made available to The Guardian yesterday and signed by the Acting National President and Secretary-General of the union, Mr. Olusoji Salako and Jarvis Erhomosele, ASSBIFI described the situation as very unfortunate.

ASSBIFI stressed that it had appealed to the management to follow due process, as stated in Article 5(b) Part II (Section I) of the Collective Agreement relating to redundancy and S.20 of the Labour Act, but it was surprised to discover that the financial institution has started laying off their workers.

The statement, with the heading; " Enough of lawlessness in Wema Bank Plc" reads:

"Over the past few weeks, rumours of mass staff retrenchment in Wema Bank Plc had rented the air. We have since severally written to the management, cautioning that if and when such need arose, it should follow the pattern in Article 5(b) Part II (Section I) of our Collective Agreement relating to redundancy and S.20 of the Labour Act. None of these letters were acknowledged let alone replied; we called for meetings which also were ignored.

"We are pained this evening (yesterday) to get confirmation from management and staff that workers are being retrenched, albeit without due process/rule of law. Only an irresponsible Union would fold its arms in the circumstances.

"Accordingly, we have decided to help management shut down the bank until it reverses itself and learn the art of due process.

"Meanwhile, we advise all customers/depositors of Wema Bank Plc to make haste in rounding off their outstanding transactions with the bank before management's action closes the institution. It would be total labour action against Wema Bank of Nig. Plc.

General public to please note," the union added.

It was reported in some dailies yesterday (not The Guardian) that the institution would prune the current 3,500 workforce to "manageable" level.

The report further stated that 25 senior management workers, including assistant general managers, principal managers and senior managers were handed their letters of disengagement from the service of bank on Friday, which confirmed the workers' fear after several weeks of apprehension.

The report stated further that 220 officers and about 500 junior workers have also been pencilled down for retrenchment and would have got their letters yesterday.

It seems your describing the symptoms of refux disease. If I understand you correctly, you have a feeling of something coming back up through your esophagus(food pipe). If that is correct, then, some form of anti-acid, or proton pump inhibitor would do you some good.
sorry for the mix-up

Dr. you are the bomb!, i really appreciate your response. the anti-acid, can you recommend one in particular? syrup or tablet?, pls what is proton pump inhibitor ? thanks once more

Many young women of mentrual age are really anemic in NIgeria and other developing Worlds. Iron supplement is a good idea. Another option is to try a form of contraceptive that would drastically reduce the amount of blood lost during menses every month. Though, I don't practice in Nigeria, I know that many pharmacy stores do carry some form of Iron sulphate, gluconate, or ferro-sulphate or another. I would recommend the Iron gluconate, but they maybe more expensive. Like all Iron pills, they may cause constipation, so you may need to add some form of stool softner to your therapy.

Food safety check and control is alien to the system and they are clamoring to stay alive, miracle, eeh.

It quite unfortunate for the man, giving foods to the poor during ramadan is among things Almight Allah encourage us to do especially during fasting in order to benefit much in Ramadan. HE created us , so definately HE knows everybody intention.

People should think abt about it , the man too is affected , meaning some thing somewhere is wrong with the food or someone is after the man,
