Good day friends, just to quickly announce to the house that I picked up my visa yesterday.

It took exactly 9 working days after my interview to get the approval. Please note that on my call, my program coordinator asked the Aliens Office to please speed up my visa process as my enrolment deadline is fast approaching and fixed.

Of course it wouldn't have been possible without God; hence I'm thanking him again for answered prayers. Also, many-many thanks to every member of this thread, some of whom often go out of their way to help others here: Y'all are the best!

To those awaiting approval and those yet to apply, I wish Y'all success #GodGotY'all. Cheers

I wonder why some are taking cheap shots at me for my input smiley. Anyone doubting the content of my previous post should turn to google. To even think I made up those reports? Sigh

When I dropped some lines last week, regarding Arabs and security, someone here quickly called me names. I'll continue to say that Arabs are highly dangerous! And this is in no way about religion but about the Arabs! Yeah, I was born a Muslim (now a Christian) and my dad till this day, remains an Islamic scholar. I see some people are already taking swipes at others for sharing their opinions and fears, to you lot I say - Nobody holy pass!

Just this week alone, there's been reports of Syrian refugees rioting in a German city, injuring scores of policemen and civilians (Germans & Foreigners). The said Syrian refugees also destroyed properties ranging from: Cars, Houses and what not; during the riot.

In another report this week, a group of Arab refugees now living legally in Germany, have started posting pro-terror pictures on facebook with a view of raising awareness of a terror group's presence in Germany, in order to unite old members and as well recruit new members.

Arab refugees are also in the news this week for posting several extremist comments on social media platforms about how they are already taking over Europe, and directing racists comments to the same Europeans who have welcomed them to their abode. There's also a report about the apprehension of a terrorist recruiter who tried to gain entry into Germany under the guise of being a refugee. One simply can't overlook the thought of many of his kind, slipping through, unnoticed.

This is only early days and some totally extreme events already unfolded, and realistically so, more will follow! And to those saying we're all the same; whether student or asylum seeker - Please, I'm sure we all know that student and refugee are two very different categories. Free tuition doesn't translate to asylum seeker, please! And in fact, some of us are paying heavily, I mean HEAVY tuition fees for our studies in Germany. Moreover, I believe many are only worried because the asylum seekers are Arabs, and their record speaks for itself!

Personally, I was attracted to Germany for its numerous job opportunities after my MBA, security and high standard of living. Now, a number of uncertainties becloud my German dream smiley but I find solace in the popular saying "Que Sera Sera", and I hope those reading this, who like me also have their fears/concerns, do too.

God really came through for those of us that were interviewed today! And I have reasons to believe that the interviews wouldn't be intense henceforth, at least for the remainder of winter 2015 visa application period. Best to all hopefuls and them bosses in the house.

PS - Congratulations @kciano, I tap from your success smiley

Following the asylum topic that came to light on this thread last night, I quickly made a rough research this AM. Below are my findings and personal opinions:

First, it must be said that the EU got the asylum structuring all wrong. There is a reason countries like US, Canada, Australia et all are very strict with the process of absorbing asylum seekers into their country, especially in enormous numbers.

It appear the bulk share of the asylum burden currently fall on the laps of Germany as the number of refugees in the country is slightly greater than that of other EU countries put together, excluding one or two countries in the EU of course; who receive nearly half the number of Germany's.

It's also worth noting that the German government are apparently bothered about the asylum scheme. As a result, many refugees in Germany are subjected to deportation while hundreds of thousands asylum applications are being strictly scrutinised, although some highly placed German politicians and stakeholders are kicking against such developments.

Additionally, some Germans are irritated by the drastic rise in number of refugees in their country which is evident in the ongoing protests in the German state of Bavaria, and is predicted to spread across the country. And in my opinion, barbaric reactions by Bavarians such as: torching refugee settlements and assaulting unarmed refugees are petty and uncalled for.

While I believe refugees aren't necessarily a threat to Germany's economy, I do have my concerns regarding security - underrate Arabs at your own peril! And that's not being racist or bigoted, it's just me being logical. It also brings to mind the so called German visa 'anti-terrorist form', which at this point I believe is quite laughable, as 80 - 90 percent of the asylum seekers/refugees hail from hot zones like: Syria, Iraq and Pakistan.

Conclusively, Germany should be applauded for being a BIG BROTHER to displaced persons, countries at war and most notably; its EU counterparts. But Germany should also remember that 'it is a cold world' we live in, where generosity comes at a price, often very costly.

Hey guys! I finally got an interview date after resending my request to the embassy. Special S/O to everyone giving much needed meaning to this thread, may our prayers be answered IJN, amen.

Meanwhile, I'd like to partake in the networking trend since it's the right thing to do. So here is calling on all Nuremberg residents and hopefuls on here to please drop me a line. Cheers!

Thanks for responding. The embassy would definitely hear from me tomorrow morning. Thanks again

lmuhopeful:
Bro, some people have earlier complained about this same issue. The news is that the embassy currently has so many student visa appointments on its hands such that there are hardly any free dates. Perhaps you can call them and inquire about this so as to calm down. All the best.

Greetings house. Please I need help here! It's almost 2weeks since I applied for an interview appointment and I still haven't received a reply from the embassy. Is this a normal occurrence or am I missing something? I actually booked an interview appointment on July 29th, via the email written at the back of the account oppenig receipt just about few hours after applying for the famous blocked account at the German embassy in Lagos. And yes! I attached the 3 required files along with my appointment request. Guys what's your take regarding this issue? Please advise..
