Phones › Re: Fraudsters Swap Lady's Airtel Sim And Steal Her N400,000 by Billygee2u: 4:16pm On Feb 06, 2016
FlirtyKaren:
My name is Adetoke Oluwo. I feel it is necessary I share my story so as to shed light to the way fraudsters dupe unsuspecting Nigerians and also to expose the shady AIRTEL STAFF who aided them.

My purse with other documents and ID cards were stolen last year April and as usual, I got an affidavit for it.
This year January, I got a call from Airtel Ibadan concerning a sim swap I wanted to do in Ibadan (I work and live in Lagos). I immediately informed them that it's fraud when
if you are with all the evidence as you you have stated, sue the scam and useless Airtel to court
they told me the person brought one of the id cards that was stolen.
I immediately went to AIRTEL IKEJA CITY MALL to report and told them to flag and fortify security on my sim as my Airtel line is connected to all my Bank accounts. I even asked how it was possible for anybody to walk in and almost swapped my sim without any form of security . The staff said they will do something about it.
On Thursday night, 4th of February, I noticed my network was down and I waited till Friday to go report and they told me to wait for hours. THEY DID NOT TELL ME MY SIM HAD BEEN SUCCESSFULLY SWAPPED BY FRAUDSTERS, The Staff tried to hide it and told me to fill a form of sim replacement. I did not know at that point that my money was being moved as I sat there!!!
I left the Office and discovered on my other phone that 400 THOUSAND NAIRA HAS BEEN TRANSFERRED FROM MY GTB ACCOUNT THROUGH MOBILE MONEY WITH THAT NUMBER ALL THE WHILE MY SIM WAS DOWN FROM THURSDAY NIGHT TO FRIDAY AFTERNOON.
My email address must have been seen in one of the documents stolen, and the number is where Yahoo would send my recovery password to. All it took them was to SWAP MY SIM and click on forget password to access my email that had my Bank details saved.
It was when I went back to AIRTEL IKEJA CITY MALL to shout that the Staff told me my Sim had been Swapped. Before they lied that it was damaged and told me to fill a form for REPLACEMENT! !!

I requested for the Staff who swapped my sim for this FRAUDSTERS and they refused to say anything. They even harassed me and sent me out of their store for causing nuisance.

This money is meant to be part of the Course I saved a Year for to go study in London, I was maltreated and duped and an AIRTEL STAFF AIDED THE FRAUDSTERS. EVEN AFTER I COMPLAINED SINCE JANUARY FOR MY SIM TO BE FORTIFIED!!

BECAUSE HOW IS IT POSSIBLE FOR SOMEONE WHO ISN'T ME TO SUCCESSFULLY SWAP MY LINE WHEN THEY HAD MY PICTURE RIGHT INFRONT OF THEM!!!

PLEASE SHARE SO I CAN GET MY MONEY BACK, SO JUSTICE CAN BE DONE, SO OTHER NIGERIANS TOO CAN LEARN FROM MY EXPERIENCE AND PROTECT THEMSELVES. PLEASE SHARE.

Buhari has nothing to offer. He just came back to power to play 'catch up' with other former military leaders by amassing more wealth as he only took a little then because his rule was short lived. The brand of Tinubu politics that brought an illiterate coup monger back from oblivion to preside over the affairs of a democratic nation is still a case study among right thinking people at this time. Also Putting the south against the south just for A NORTHERNER TO COME BACK TO POWER is really an interesting phenomenon. We are all watching in HD.

The issue here is not about being sick or seeing a doctor. The issue is why did he have to travel overseas to get the treatment? So he doesn't trust the hospitals in a country he presides over?

Foreign Affairs › Re: Deadly Earthquake Leaves 7 Dead And 318 Hospitalised In Taiwan. by Billygee2u: 2:53pm On Feb 06, 2016
luciomoggi:
According to Taiwan's disaster response centre , an earthquake in Southern Taiwan on early Saturday morning has killed seven people leaving hundreds injured.

The collapse of eight buildings which was caused by the disaster is the main cause of death for the victims. While a 10-day - old baby and a 40-year-old man are among those that lost their lives, 318 people are currently hospitalised as of the time of filing this report .

The collapsed 17-story Wei Guan building which is located Yongkang District of Tainan, houses more than 90 households which accounts for 256 people. As a result , 246 people have been evacuated from the building after the disaster, making it difficult to ascertain the whereabouts of 10 residents in the building .

Firefighters and soldiers were seen using excavators and ladders to take survivors out of the rubble and broken windows as the Wei Guan building had collapsed hence lying on the ground.

China mainland has also offered to help Taiwan following the crisis. Also 2 million yuan (US $304,268) has been offered to Taiwan by China's mainland's Red Cross Society to help relieve the displaced.

According to China Earthquake Networks Centre, the earthquake that hit Kaohsiung City had a magnitude of 6.7, with a depth of 15km at 3:57 a.m Beijing time on Saturday.

Taiwan is not new to earthquakes though the are usually minor with the heaviest been the September 21, 1999 earthquake which left more than 2,000 people dead.

I guess obama's doctors are also in Saudi Arabia,Dubai or Australia. What is wrong with our leaders, both the clueless and the "so called" incorruptible ones. Even though we know you need to go for medical check-up,why rub it on our faces because you know we can do nothing about it. How can our healthcare system get better with this kind of frequent medical trips. I'm sure his life is more precious than the lives of the average Nigerians who risk their lives in our ill-equipped hospitals in Nigeria!

Politics › Re: I Didn’t Know Why I Came To Rule Now – Buhari by Billygee2u: 9:25am On Feb 06, 2016
khalhokage:
President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday said that with the quantum of problems his administration inherited, he sometimes wondered why he had to seek power at this time.

Buhari spoke in London while addressing members of the Nigerian community in the United Kingdom.

Our correspondent obtained a transcript of the President’s address to the gathering on Friday.

Buhari said he wondered why oil, which used to sell for over $140 per barrel, would reduce to $30 per barrel during his time as the President.

Notwithstanding the problem, however, Buhari said he kept praying to God to be merciful to the over 170 million Nigerians who are exposed to poverty, illiteracy and other social ills.

He said, “With the problems we have in this government, I sometimes wonder. At least, this time around, I asked for it, I prayed for it, I went round the country and I asked for it. But the first time under the military, I allowed the military to take decision.

“But I say why me? Why is it that it is when they have spent all the money, when they made the country insecure that I returned?
“Why didn’t I come when the treasury was full? Oil price was over $140 per barrel and when I came, it slipped down to $30. Why me?
“I keep on praying to God to pity Nigeria and its over 170 million people who are exposed to climate change, illiteracy and poverty.”

The President, however, said his administration had succeeded in mopping up over N2.2trn as of January through the Treasury Single Account arrangement.

He said although the TSA was introduced by the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan, that administration could not implement it for reasons best known to its officials.

He said his administration decided to implement the arrangement when he came on board and discovered that the country was broke.
The President said, “You know the condition we are in now. I am sure with demands from home, in spite of what your effort is, you know we are really in trouble.

“We have tried to impose what we call Treasury Single Account. The reason is simple. This government did not initiate it, it was initiated by the previous government. But it was so unpopular to the bureaucracy, so the previous government for its own reasons, could not impose it.

“But when we came and we found out that we were broke, we said this is the way to do it.

“I will tell you two examples to convince you. Firstly, the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation had more than 45 accounts. Ministry of Defence had more than 70 accounts. Tell me which Accountant-General can trace all these accounts?

“So, we imposed TSA. By the end of December, coming to January 2016, we mopped up more than N2.2trn which would have been used through bureaucratic system to raise vouchers and sign cheques so that they don’t go into the next budget.”

The President said Nigeria owed the United States and Britain a lot of appreciation for stopping the former administration from rigging the last presidential election.

He recalled that ahead of the elections, the former National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki (retd.), urged the service chiefs and the then Inspector-General of Police to tell officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission that they could not guarantee their safety during the polls.

He said the then Chairman of INEC, Prof. Attahiru Jega, however, gave a comprehensive report at a meeting of the National Council of State, where he said he would be able to deliver, at least, 60 per cent free and fair election.
The President said as of that time, the country had never gone beyond 45 per cent.

He said it took the intervention of US Secretary of State, John Kerry, for the last administration to conduct credible election.

He said, “Then we insisted that election must be done according to the constitution.

“At this point again, I must hasten to thank the United States for sending the Secretary of State, Kerry, to go and read the riot act to the previous government and speak to Prof. Jega, the Chairman of INEC and speak to us as opposition that the US would not tolerate any election outside the Nigerian constitution.

“They maintained the pressure from that date until after the election and the formation of the new government.

“I think Nigerians honestly should thank the US for this. The same thing with Britain, they used all their experience and their powers to make sure that the Federal Government did not rig the last election.

“We thank God, we thank these super powers and we thank technology. Why we thank technology is because of the permanent voter cards and the card readers.”

Buhari said the issue of Diaspora voting had been coming up in all the countries he had visited since the inception of his administration.
