Hmmm................l hope what they are telling you is correct,because it smells like a scam to me, beside, if it is genuine, it shouldn't take more than 1 day to rectify the mistake,but, l do have my reservations, there are so many scams going on with the so called employment visa, l wish you luck though.

Not necessary; you should be fine with 5 to 7days or maximum 14days, just be very brief when responding to questions as a first time traveller, and dont be scared of them, they are human beings like you, if they sense you are afraid/scared/nervous, then you have indirectly shot yourself on the foot and you now give them the opportunity to pull you aside and ask for MR biggs & Suya...

1. The day you choose to travel does not really matter, you will still have to deal with immigration/customs/ndlea & other security apparatus in the airport.

2. Yes, hotel reservation is a must or else be prepared to give gala, Mr Biggs, suya, black,blue and brown envelops + ragolis water to all the security agents you will meet in every post/counter.

3. Yes, taxi price might be between 50 to 70 dhs or more, depending on the kind of taxi you take, most of the taxi's in the UAE are metered.

4. Are you coming via Emirates airline or Etihad, if Emirates- destination is dubai, and if etihad- destination is abu-dabhi before heading to dubai by bus.

Well,it has been explained to you before few days ago that accommodation is from $200 which is about #32,000naira per month, as regard the fee for getting a job, let him explain better to you since he is the one arranging your trip, although,as regard age issue, the visa requirement might say so,but, you can get around it, if you do the needful with whoever is assisting you with the visa applications, lastly, be careful and cautious of your brothers friend in Dubai that is arranging your trip, walk wisely so you wont be a victim on arrival. l heard of a uniform salary scale might be coming into force for security personnel across the UAE in 2014, but, honestly, it is just speculations, l also think it might be very difficult to implement a uniform salary scale across the board not just for security personnel and other professions due to so many reasons, if you google the UAE labour law you will also see where it was proposed to make 5000AED as the basic salary in the past but it couldn't be implemented because of so many interest & politics and wide consultations that has to be put in place to carry out such a big policy change.


Again, another reason why it might be difficult to enforce such a policy especially in the private sector which is the engine room of the UAE economy is because of the fees, fines and other levies imposed by the government on different companies who ply & do business in the UAE, those working with/in the government sectors already enjoy some huge benefits in terms of good salaries & allowances,but, l really doubt if it might extend to the private sectors, but, big conglomerate like AL-FUTTAIM MOTORS and it's subsidiaries already have a minimum salary of about 4000AED as basic salary in place(l know because l have few friends working with them).


Lastly, another reason why even if it is announced, implementation might be a big problem is because the government already know that some companies pay meagre/slave wages and when confronted by the government maybe during conflict with an employee in the labour court you see such companies complaining that they have spent so much in procuring their licences and also pay monthly additional fees & levies to the same government and hence they are able to get away with that argument because the government knows that most companies go through so much to survive in a competitive economy like the UAE.This are my personal and honest opinions.
