'You Are Already Rigging the Election'; Group tells President Jonathan’s PDP

A Political Group, team for progress (kwara 2011), has accused President Goodluck and his party PDP of rigging the election even before the voters registration begins. At the meeting of the team held on the 3rd of November 2011 in ilorin, the kwara state capital, the spoke person of the

team Mr.Yusuf Hassan, accused kwara state opposition as being selfish and self centered, he argued that most of the so called opposition are not there for the good of the people, but rather for their selfish interest and if given the opportunity will do worse than the incumbent. If all these people claim they are fighting for the people, why is it so difficult for them to unit and save us? From his view, only few of them are truly here for the struggle and we will help identify and support them.

The Leader of the Team Com.Abdulrazaq.O. Hamzat assured kwarans that with his team, “you are sure of knowing your true heroes and with our collective efforts; we shall deliver the state come 2011. He further explained that many people have argued that what we are doing is a waste, but we want to use this medium to inform them that if at this time you still don’t believe there is a way in what we are doing, then you are ignorant. You are ignorant because you fail to see light at the end of the tunnel and you fail to see how we will let the people know their true heroes”.

He explained that “we're entirely funded by our members—no corporate contributions, no big checks from CEOs. And our tiny team ensures that small contributions go a long way. We get our fund from our ordinary members, friends and those who appreciate what we do. Anybody could be part of it. We are doing this because we believe, and our belief shall deliver the state at the end of the day insha Allah”.

When asked on what he thinks on the presidential election, he accused President Goodluck and his party PDP of rigging the election before the voters registration, Mr. Abdulrazaq said, rigging begin with falsely hyping the PDP by the introduction of zoning argument.

He noted that zoning is an internal affair of the PDP, but the party willingly holds the country ransom by forcing the issue of zoning on the lips of every Nigeria through the media. They PDP want all their presidential aspirants to be more popular so that whichever amongst them emerges at the primary will eventually win the general election. He explained we are not there when they are doing these laws; they didn’t bring the laws to the news when they completed it, so why bring it now?

He urges Nigerians to standup against this undemocratic act; else the PDP will continue to rig elections in this country.

He stressed that every now and then, you see the issue of PDP in every daily paper even when the news is irrelevant, and this media propaganda to me is the beginning of rigging;

When asked on why is he so concerned about this issue at this time, he answered by saying; "first I am a Nigerian, and secondly, I am concerned about this because this propaganda not just happen at the National, but also at the state level. We call on all Nigerians to stand against the incumbents using the media for propaganda".

Back to the issue of his team, he assured the people that as from November 8th, "we would start releasing the information of the Governorship aspirants for our people to see, and comment on it, each candidates profile will be on our page for three days before releasing another. After these, we will release our view on each aspirant and allow our members to comment before finally release our best rated candidate for all the elective positions that we are working on i.e governorship, senate and the house of representative".

We are youths who are dedicated to liberate kwara state from dictatorship and backwardness with seriousness and sincerity. We came out after seeing how hard many people have fought to liberate kwara state and there fulminate actions in many occasions, and how they linger over it with no avail. Out of our optimism in their resplendent resurgent, we have decided to stop the talking, but do the acting by finding away to show  the people of kwara state and Nigerians entirely that we are being enslaved and the only way out is to collectively do the fighting.

Many of the people with resources doing the fighting on the people's behave do not have the same ideology and it is causing a lot of misunderstanding which as been making it very difficult to get the people out of the slump.

For this reason, we initiated this idea to finally end the 30 years of darkness in kwara state politics.

We are not politicians, neither are we sponsored by any political party or aspirant, we came to rescue our people and proffer a way forward for our beloved kwara state.

OUR FREEDOM

We know that for our state and people to see the development we truly deserve, we must adopt a candidate that will bring New Thinking with a strong and realistic agenda for New Developments.

To do that, we know that godfatherism must stop.

For godfatherism to stop, it is beyond political party but truly identifying a real candidate based on merit that we all can support.

Our special team which we call The Team for Progress (Kwara) have done lots of research to identify candidates based on ideological believe, achievements and history.we are still doing more search as we believe your contribution will go along way to help us identify the best candidate to support.

So after the conclusion on our search, we will present the the major contestants in the Governorship and senatorial position and pick our best candidate for you to criticize.

We will provide you there history as we have gathered and achievements. and we will also present our analysis of all candidates.

With your constructive criticism, we will review our stand on some candidates based on your point and finally pick our final best candidate to support in all the positions irrespective of there political party.
