Olawepo-Hashim, who had earlier emerged victorious as one of the foursuccessful contenders of the fourteen screened by the elders of the Middle Belt Forum about four months ago, was in high spirits on Friday as Dan-Musa described him as a purposeful politician. Dan-Musa, in a letter he submitted to the National Chairman of the ANN, Pastor Emma Dania, to intimate him with his decision to withdraw from the race and team up with Olawepo-Hashim, said he consulted with his teeming supporters nationwide before taking the action. He said his supporters would be mobilized to ensure that Olawepo-Hashim clinched the presidential ticket of the party, adding that the same effort would be invested in the February 16, 2019 presidential election to ensure his victory. Dan-Musa described Olawepo-Hashim as “a proactive politician who understands the dynamics of Nigerian politics. He is a very vibrant youth who has been part of the politics of the forth republic where we had both, as foundation leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party, played prominent roles. He was a foundation deputy national publicity secretary of the party.” Olawepo-Hashim said Dan-Musa’s decision to withdraw from the race and support him was service to Nigeria and the ANN. According to him, “You have not stepped down for me but for Nigeria and our great party. You have made a great contribution to the party. You have demonstrated the spirit that the ANN is made of. “This development is very important to me because Alhaji Dan-Musa, a prominent politician and an accomplished entrepreneur, has structures nationwide, which he is deploying in support of our campaign to rescue Nigeria. We will all campaign together and form government together by the grace of God.” https://www.thisdaylive.com/index.php/2018/09/22/dan-musa-steps-down-for-olawepo-hashim-in-race-for-ann-ticket/?amp |

Adamawa SDP faction defects to ANN A faction of the Social Democratic party in Adamawa, led by its former chairperson, Ibrahim Bebeto, and other aggrieved members that included a governorship candidate under the party’s platform, Abel Behora, have dumped the SDP for the Alliance for a New Nigeria. Their decision to dump the party was taken against their alleged infiltration and hijack of the party by Chief Emmanuel Bello, a governorship aspirant under the SDP in Adamawa State. Bebeto who spoke on behalf of the aggrieved members said the mass exodus of members was as a result of the alleged brazen abuse and violation of the party’s constitution by undesirable elements that have infiltrated the party and thus hijacked it from those who sacrificed to build the party. He said the crisis rocking the SDP started following the rejection of Emmanuel Bello, the SDP governorship aspirant, who demanded that the party executives should adopt him as the sole candidate of the party. The members said they had no option but to leave the SDP for another party after it learnt there were plans to frustrate their participation in the 2019 election. https://punchng.com/adamawa-sdp-faction-defects/ |

But the truth is that President Buhari needs to go and rest. ANN is practically prepared to give him a befitting rest. “I am therefore better placed to bring the country back together and most assured that I can get the job done given my record of accomplishment. “I will restructure the economy from a dependent one to a self-reliant one, by investing in iron and steel, research and development and other critical sectors of the economy.” National Chairman of the party, Pastor Emmanuel Dania, who received Olawepo and his supporters, said that the ANN was coming to deliver Nigeria. yinnyme:Any serious political party must have a long term plan. The economy of a country cannot be done in isolation of its reality. he promised to move Nigeria's economy to a $4trillion economy in 10 years to be at per with middle income countries like malaysia, which we have slightly better economy than at independence. That's a target. But before 10years, the economy would have been set to approach that target, starting from his first year. So, the idea is to give Nigeria a larger picture of the plan. In 5 years, obviously the economy will hit $2 trillion. But that doesn't take us to be at par with middle income countries. he has a target to get us to a relatively comfortable position to get us out of poverty and based on their plan, that can be achieved in 10years. |
