MajorJeffery:You are right. It's unfortunate that those who claimed to want a better country are the one's engaging in illegality. I am very ashamed that the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo can flood ANN with billions of money belonging to the Nigerian people simply because they are scared of Hashim. |
cbrass: cbrass:You are funny. While the APC, led by Vice president has given your man billions to hijack the party, they are still not confident that money can buy the members. They are still engaging in illegality by violating the party's constitution. |
cbrass:It's unfortunate that you are a liar, a cheat and someone with no morality. Just few days ago, you came here to lie that Olawepo brought all the party exco. You even claimed that he and the party chairman are from the same church. You claimed that he has done this and that. But it is you and those failed people that are trying to violate the rules of the party. The party's constitution says at least 7 days to any primary, list of all delegates must be made public to all. Yet, you are asking why he his asking to know the list as required by the constitution. How can a primary hold without the aspirants knowing the modalities? |
cbrass:Because every aspirant must have the list of the delegates |
It is well |

Olawepo-Hashim Pulls Out Of ANN Presidential Primaries Mr. Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim, a presidential aspirant and key financier of the Alliance for New Nigeria (ANN), has announced his withdrawal from the presidential race, on grounds of breach of party’s constitutional procedure in the build-up to it presidential primaries scheduled for Saturday, September 29. Olawepo-Hashim, hitherto the favoured aspirant to clinch the party’s presidential candidacy slot, said in a letter addressed to the party chairman that the abnormalities he mentioned to the chairman at their Wednesday meetings have not been corrected, in what he alleges amounts to a disrespect for the constitution of the party. Dated September 28, the aspirant who has toured a substantial part of the country campaigning for delegates’ support noted, “The list of delegates has not been provided to me as a presidential aspirant on the platform of the ANN. “This is contrary to the Constitution of the ANN and the Electoral Act. This is such a fundamental flaw as to render any exercise purporting to be presidential primaries to be nugatory.” Olawepo-Hashim said it is unfortunate that even on the eve of the so-called primaries, guidelines for the primaries, which ought to have been approved by the National Executive Committee (NEC) and issued at least seven days before the elections, are not available. “The absence of guidelines to guide the conduct of the primaries constitute a grave violation of our party’s Constitution and the Electoral Act. “The arrangements for the presidential primaries have not been published so that everyone will know. Who are those to conduct the primaries, including accreditation of delegates, screening of aspirants etc. As a presidential aspirant, I am yet to know the arrangements put in place for the conduct of the primaries. “I regret to inform you that I will not participate in tomorrow’s primaries until the constitution of the party is respected and all the defects are rectified,” the statement read in part. https://independent.ng/olawepo-hashim-pulls-out-of-ann-presidential-primaries/amp/ |

Baselm:Before you comment, use your brain. Or at least, seek knowledge. Gbenga's father is Abdullahi Hashim. He his from Kebbi State. Since 2015, he has added the name of his father to his name. Olawepo is the name of his step dad, whom he lived with. He loved his father and his step dad and both of them are held in high esteem. |
We wish Kwara election is as credible as Osun election https://mrrightsng..com/2018/09/we-wish-kwara-election-is-as-credible.html Kwara Must Change wishes to inform the general public that we carefully followed the recently conducted Governorship election in Osun state and the reactions that trailed its outcome. While it is true that Kwara Must Change didn’t go to Osun to observe the governorship election, it is important to state that we carefully studied the position of several local and international observers that monitored the election. Before we go further into giving our position on the Osun election,it is necessary to remind the general public that in November 2017, local government election took place in Kwara State and during the build up to that election, some peaceful youths in Lafiagi town, Edu local government were violently murdered in broad day light by Senator Shaaba Lafiagi's security. Until this day, nobody has been held accountable for the murder, neither did the Kwara State Government issued any statement in recognition that some Nigerian citizens under its watch had been cruelly denied of their fundamental right to life. In the November local government election in Kwara State, the world witnessed the height of impunity and rape of democracy. Not only were the peoples mandate violently stolen from the winners, we also witnessed an outright murder of people who were only exercising their democratic rights. It is with this background that Kwara Must Change took special interest in the Osun governorship election and followed all reports emanating from credible observers monitoring the process. One of the credible observers at the Osun governorship election is the United States embassy, led by its Consular General, Mr John Bray. The United States Consular General, Mr John Bray described the process as credible. The U.S embassy head in Lagos, who personally observed the Osun governorship election was reported to have said, ‘’he didn’t observe any malpractices or violations of the Electoral Act in Unit 17, ward 5 where the election took place’’. Many other observers also reported similar things. However, some other observers reported something contrary, which is also worthy of note. Center for Democracy and Development (CDD) through its director, Idayat Hassan lamented that the conduct of some key stakeholders clearly ran contrary to democratic norms and standards. Other observers also shared similar opinion. For us at Kwara Must Change, we are of the views that, there seems to be some short comings in some of the polling units which needed to be improved upon going forward. Notwithstanding, this didn’t make the overall conduct of the election and its outcome less seminal. While we urge the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to improve in its conduct of elections in the future, we wished that an election as credible as this is conducted in Kwara State. We also wished that all those raising their voices in the osun election also did the same during the rape of Kwara election. Surprisingly, those who violently raped Kwara and openly stole the peoples mandate are the same set of people complaining about Osun’s election. Kwara Must Change therefore call on the Federal government to bring all those who are responsible for the killings of youths in Lafiagi town to book. Abdulrazaq O Hamzat Kwara Must Change |
I’ll stop crime by tackling poverty, says Olawepo-Hashim Alliance for New Nigeria (ANN) presidential aspirant, Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim, has promised to tackle poverty, if elected president next year. While beginning his ‘Talking on the Issues (ToI)’ series yesterday, Olawepo-Hashim told newsmen that most of the nation’s problems, including insurgency, partly emanated from poverty. ToI is a talkshop on his ideas to reposition and develop the country.According to him, the problem should be dealt with, “with the urgency of now”; it should not be an unending song.“Poverty is not just a physical, realistic thing; but also a state of the mind. It is about depravity, deprivation and visible lack of resources to feed the body and the mind. “The state of lack brews anger and revulsion for the environment where the victim resides and causes alienation from modernity. It can also lead to violence,” he added. Olawepo-Hashim argued that no amount of crime control system could stop the ills in a poverty-invested society. His words: “Crime is one outcome of poverty, and I would rather deal with the cause of a problem than concentrating on the symptom. “All hands will be on deck from February 2019 when I am elected president by the grace of God and the voting power of fellow Nigerians”. “Crime is caused partly by the poverty of ideas revolving around radicalisation, indoctrination and a situation where an individual cannot reason from the other side. “That level of poverty is worsened by the inability to afford basic meals. We have been in this kind of quagmire for ages, and it is time we found solutions to it. “ANN is a new party, bubbling with ideas and vision, with young, vibrant politicians in the mix. We are ready to be the solution. We are, in fact, the solution, and our time has come.”He revealed that the ToI series would continue ahead of the ANN primaries and the general elections, as it was embarked upon to let the populace know the party’s readiness to take them out of the woods. “Ours is a party of ideas. I am also a man of ideas. We are ready to take on the issues. We encourage others to follow this part, so we can elevate the level of electioneering process in the land, exactly the way it is done in the more advanced democracies. https://www.google.com/amp/s/guardian.ng/news/ill-stop-crime-by-tackling-poverty-says-olawepo-hashim/amp |

Here is a birthday message to my friend Our lady of Fatima, in the ancient city of Kano, that’s the church I occasionally visit with my bosom friend and brother, Olaoye Rotimi Benjamin in our childhood days. Benjamin on the other hand often followed me to Mosque to pray and shout ‘’Allahu Akbar’’. As I am writing this, I can still visualize Rotimi in our Nawahirudeen Mosque and Islamic school shouting ‘’Allahu Akbar’’ along with me. As kids with no prejudice against any religion, going to church with Rotimi is one of my most cherished memories of our childhood days. That memory is even more important because when one takes a look at what is happening in our society today, particularly the toxic nature of relations between Christians and Muslims in which adherents of both faiths have lost their godliness under the guise of religiosity, many will agree with me that in our country today, there is very little thing left in religion to emulate. Both Muslims and Christians in our society today are not worthy model of their respective religion. Against the dictate of both faith, Muslims and Christians hate and deceive each other. Without any conscience, they lie and violate each other’s humanity in total violation of their creeds and as if that is not enough, they cash from their religion in the most crocked manner. This is the genesis of the numerous crisis in our land and we must do all we can, to return our land to the ways of God. Like I have always said, ‘’until religion stopped being a business, you will never see God there’’. Rotimi and I were like twin brothers, we were inseparable. Whether in Church or in Mosque, we were inseparable. In food or soccer, we were inseparable. And even till eternity, we will remain so. Although, in some moments, we may fight like Tom and Jerry, but in the next moment, we are back together like head and neck. One thing that usually causes friction between us is rubber band. Robber band, which we often described as robberlee in those days do cause some kind of friction between us, but we will end up moving beyond it. Bros, abeg, where did you keep all those robber band sef? Rotimi was an expert in that robber game. Benjamin, I know life has created space between us, distance has attempted to erode our connectivity, but be rest assured that nothing will ever take away our brotherly bond. As you add another year brother, this message is to celebrate you and our brotherly union. Though, the message maybe coming late, but it is to remind you that no matter how far apart we seems to be, we will always be together. Wishing you long life in good health and abundant blessings of God. Remember, life may throw its difficulty at us, but we will always prevail. Challenges may rise, but you will always overcome. Keep the hope alive. You will eventual live the kind of live you had always wanted to live. Let’s keep hope alive. My paddy, happy birthday Don't forget to extend my greetings to your lovely wife. HAPPY BRITHDAY BRO From your friend, Abdulrazaq Hamzat |

GOOD THINGS THAT HAPPENED BEFORE IN OUR LAND BY GBENGA OLAWEPO HASHIM In 1950, Olorunimbe was the first Mayor of Lagos, while Mazi Mbonu Ojike was his deputy, just as Chief Ekwuiyasi from Ogwashi Ukwu represented Benin West in the Western House of Assembly in 1952, and a Fulani man, Mallam Umaru Altine became the first mayor in Enugu in 1956, in an election he twice ran for. Other than this, in 1957 Felix Okonkwo, was a special member of the Northern House of Chiefs in Kano, while Mallam Umaru Yushua, the Sarkin Hausawa or Chief of the Hausas in Onitsha, was elected a member of the Eastern House of Chiefs in 1957. Additionally, Aba, an Igbo society, voted Margret Ekpo, a non-Igbo, in 1961, just as Abakaliki voted Chief Eyo Bassey to represent them in parliament. There are more. Alh. Ibrahim Abubakar Imam from Maiduguri represented Tiv land Gboko in the House of Representatives, and Chief John Umolu from Etsako represented Port Harcourt in the Eastern Region House of Assembly. In the South West, as well, Obafemi Awolowo led the campaign for Ernest Ikoli, an Ijaw man to defeat Chief Akinsanya in a Lagos election. Nnamdi Azikiwe also led the NCNC to a clean sweep of legislative seats in Lagos, and an attorney in Calabar, Atta Mumu, from Ghana represented Calabar in the parliament. This fact has been well documented by well-meaning Nigerians, and it is my intention to return us to this glorious era of detribalization. |

FPP Unveils Nigeria Peace Index with Rating of States An independent Non-Governmental Organizations (NGO), Foundation for Peace Professionals (FPP), has unveiled Nigeria Peace Index (NPI) research focusing on measuring peace tendencies through foundational indices. The Executive Director of Foundation for Peace Professionals (FPP), Ambassador Abdulrazaq Hamzat explained that measuring peace at the national level allows a country to assess the social, political and economic factors that create peace. He pointed out that ‘’human attitudes, which often impede peace is a total summation of human life experiences, which if improved upon may lead to a more peaceful society, and failure of which leaves us with constant unrest’’. Explaining the methodology used in developing the index, Abdulrazaq stated that, in attempting to rate the level of peace in Nigeria, NPI investigated the extent to which states experience social, economic, political and environmental factors that either hinders or promote peace. Five broad indicators were adopted for the index and they include, Level of Poverty, Crime Rate, Level of Education, Rate of Human Rights Abuses and Level of Incarceration. ‘’We collected data for year 2010-2016, an average of which gives us the result of Nigeria peace Index 2017’’ He said. Abdulrazaq also added that, ‘’The NPI was referenced in a special report presented at the United Nations in 2017 by United Network of Young Peace builders titled ‘’Mapping a Sector: Bridging the Evidence Gap on Youth-Driven Peace building’’. Speaking about regional performances, South West emerged as most peaceful region in Nigeria, having two of its states, Osun and Ekiti as 1st and 3rd most peaceful states on the Nigeria Peace Index. Additionally, the South South region, despite the activities of militancy groups still has more tendency of peace than South East, North Central, North West and North East region. The NPI report indicates that Osun and Kogi State are most peaceful states in Nigeria, followed by Ekiti, Kwara and Imo State, which emerged as 3rd, 4th and 5th most peaceful states respectively. The index also revealed that Yobe, Kebbi, Bauchi, Zamfara and Sokoto State are the five least peaceful states in Nigeria. This is apart from Borno State that was not considered in the research due to insufficient data and the Boko Haram red light. The representative of Statistician General of the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), Mr Ichedi S.J also commended the efforts of FPP, stating that the organizations effort is an attempt to begin the process of changing Nigeria’s narrative. While urging FPP to seek collaboration and endorsement from statutory government agencies, he assured them of the willingness of NBS to provide all necessary support in the future. Engr. Chinedu Okpalanma, Co-Convener of Citizens Action To Take Back Nigeria (CATBAN) who unveiled the document expressed delight with the effort put into the index. According to him, this excellent research work came at a time when Nigeria dearly need peace in its quest for nation building and this important report will go along way in shaping our perception as well as provide appropriate policy direction for peace building. https://forpeacepro.com/2018/09/03/fpp-unveils-nigeria-peace-index-with-rating-of-states/ |
