Yes the Lord has done smth great for me. I applied for spousal open work permit and by God's grace today I have my trv. I promised myself that I will share my testimony in dis room n I appreciate God for making it possible. This will also encourage anyone applying for SOWP.

Application submitted online: 6th of Sept
Biometrics done: 8th of Sept
Medical mail : 30th of Sept
Medical done : 1st of October at consultant practice
Medical passed mail: 14th of October
Passport request mail: 15th of October
Submitted 16th
Dispatch mail: 21st of October( in d morning, n dis got me so scared because I didn't get an approval mail)
Approval mail 21st of October( but came later in the evening).

I'm so thankful to God for this opportunity n helping me to be part of this thread. I joined this thread from page 1 of part 8, though I know I'm not going to Canada thru study but just got addicted. Ok.....so I started following this trend recently. I applied for SOWP and I got my TRV. I know most people here are applying for study permit, but just to encourage those that have spouses that would like to apply in the future.
Application.......Aug 12th
Biometrics.........Aug 14th
Medical Request mail.........September 21st
Medical done...........September 22nd
Medical passed.........September 25th
Passport Request.........October 7th
Approval mail.....October 13th

I applied September 15th via paper route and got the mail for medicals September 29th.
I did the medicals on October 1st and yet to get any further response.

Hello House,I have a strange scenario,my sister applied for a work permit to Canada to go meet her hubby with their son..she was called for medicals about a month ago,she got a request for their passport earlier today while she was jubilating,she got a rejection letter later in the day.I have never seen this before .Please what can she do.anyone seen this before?

Yes it was at IOM Ikeja. They sent me a mail the 2nd working day that my cic account has been updated...and when I checked, they said I passed my medicals.

Sorry I applied through paper route, so I really can't answer the first question. However it takes consultant practice about 1 week to send your result to CIC, while I think it takes 24 to 48hrs to update your medical result in ur acct.
My Candid advice, nothing you do now can influence CIC's decision (except prayers). From experience this is about the toughest phase, u'll refresh ur account almost every hour and be forced to think and think. ....pls just get busy, and think less about the application...... If u track from now till God knows when, it won't make it faster. So pls hope for the best while you occupy yourself with something productive.

I have battle so long with this, i don't want to make any mistake as i will love to put in for a january admission and the school said there january application closes October ......

I believe Spring should indicate January but nothing like Spring admission in the application portal.

From my understanding, if you are applying online then you should pay online but if it's through paper route then you would have to pay at vfs in cash. I hope this helps. Cheers

Online applicants are not required to pay any additional charges, but ensure you have your international passport (hard copy) + 2 photocopies and your biometrics instruction letter when you show up @ VFS for your biometrics.

Good morning house. Yes finally I got a dispatch message last week Thursday after I sent them a mail upper Wednesday (thanks to @dudet who gave me a better email address) about my application. So I picked it up yesterday at vfs n was delayed and only purpose of visit was ticked, I'm sure it's because d reason for my application has passed. I still thank God I didn't have to go to the embassy to get my documents. And I pray for all trv hopefuls dat God will grant every one their heart desires. Amen.

@bimbofela......you are not alone on this cic application issue.have been reading this thread from day one.i also applied for visit visa along with my friend on 2nd june,2015.but i never get any reponse from vfs since then,having mailed both cic.and vfs three times but no reply.my friend got sms 2wks ago that his package is ready for pick up at vfs.but he is going on thursday for pick up.im still waiting for them too.....YOU ARE NOT ALONE MY SISTER.

Got a notification today that my visa was ready, luckily i had all of my documents for pick up. Visa granted till Dec 2016 (which is how long my passport is valid till). My kids got 2 years each cos their passports expire in 2017.

good day , bimbo when did u apply ? have u tracked or called vfs to know the status of your application, I understand how frustrating it is to wait for something when u don't even know your stand.

It's so frustrating. It's over 3 months. I don't even know the kind of prayers I'm to pray again. Applied 5th of May. I sent a mail to cic case specific n till date nothing. I don't know what is happening.
