Travel / Holiday Rental In The US by bimmyd2000(f): 10:45am On Jul 26, 2017
Hello Nairalanders, apart from staying in hotels or air bnb's in the US for holidays, duration of 2 weeks to 1-2 months what other alternatives do one have for a good accomodation that can still afford you to cook and all. Do Nigerians in the States let out their apartments or room for shortlets? Does anyone here have good or bad ecperiencea about these and how good is air bnb especially since you are black and most of the home owners are whites (racism) factors. Comments, advises, personal experiences and suggestions are welcome.

Travel / Holiday In Cotonou by bimmyd2000(f): 8:53am On Jan 28, 2015
Hello All,

I need advise on how to go about travelling to Cotonou for Holiday (one or 2 weeks) from Nigeria. I would be going with my 2 kids and will prefer to go by road so they can see lots of stuff. I would like you to advise on:

1) Will i be able to get a car or bus that will take me straight into cotonou(not seme border) and still be able to stamp my passport, less problem at the border because of the kids.
2) Where is the best area to stay to enjoy a week stay
3) How and where can i get cheap but decent hotels (a/c and tv because of the kids) or short let flats where i can probably cook
4) Which areas or places of attractions can we visit and mode of transportation
5) How much do you think i would probably need for this trip- 2 adults, 2 children, transpotation to and from cotonou, 1-2 weeks stay, hotel and tourist attractions and maybe a little shopping

I would appreciate any advise especially from people who and done this before.

Literature / Re: Hello? Mills & Boon Anyone? by bimmyd2000(f): 9:09am On Nov 25, 2009
Mills and boon is my book any day any time but i prefer the old ones (the white or the red ones) and harlequin presents those stories are decent and not as sexy as the others like blaze and sort.

I read mills and boon and harlequin free online their website is www.millsandboon.co.uk and www.eharlequin.com. you can check it any time they are so nice, they have celebrated 100 years.

Has anyone read any of Judith McNaught books? They are the bomb!

Properties / Re: Need Lands In Badagry At An Affordable Price Call Me 08060989506,08024161071 by bimmyd2000(f): 10:43am On Oct 19, 2009
How rigorous is the process of accuring a land from the government expecially the Badagry scheme. How long does it take before one can take possession and since the money involved according to their gazzette is less than 300k will i still have to pay more than that (legal or illegal fees)? Then how good and accesible are the lands under this scheme? which is the best amongst Ijanikin Rose Garden, Mosafejo/Aradagun or Oko Afo?

I will really like to know or do you think it will be better to just go and buy from the Baale and which areas are the best.
textington:

I hope that you know that most land in badagry are under acquisition
and with fashola new interest in badagry, most of the land will be under
tourism scheme.
Besides all those interested in land can pay for government scheme in
aradagun-mosafejo, oko -afor and ijanikin rose scheme for less than
N300,000 per plot with assurance of c.o.f.
and no fear of baba fash.

Career / Re: How Much is a Good Salary in Nigeria? by bimmyd2000(f): 9:34am On Oct 15, 2009
My Analysis of a good salary is this

Needs Salary Monthly(divided by 12 months)
3 bedroom flat (cheapest) - N200,000 N17,000
Transportation (far distance 700 per day) N17,000
Meal (250 per day) N6,000
Feeding for the family N25,000
School Fees average of 30k per child x 4kids
(120,000 per term) N40,000
Medical N10,000
Miscellaneous N10,000
Clothing N10,000

TOTAL N135,000

This is the average salary that a Nigerian should be paid after tax and this money it self is not enough but can be managed by a family with stigent budget but anything less than this amount is killing in the next few weeks fuel price will increase, market women will increase the price of food stuffs, transport will be increased, so where do we go from here.

Family / Re: Wrong decision by bimmyd2000(f): 1:46pm On Sep 04, 2009
I seriously believe that you should stick to your marriage and not just because of avoiding bringing shame on your family but do it for yourself. There is no marriage that cannot work it takes effort and not a one sided effort but effort on both sides involve your wife in this communication is very important talk to her lay it plain to her and tell her what u want to change about her, she should also tell u want she wants from you too this way u can make it work. Tolerance and love can help u wither any storm, accept her for who she is and help her develop into what u want, rome was not built in a day, u can't change a way of life that has been developed for over 30 years in 2 years its not done but with love, understanding , tolerance and good communication u can achieve a lot.

It will cost you about 3.5million to 4million to get it done. Where exactly is the location because location is also a factor that determines cost of constructing a building in terms of availability of materials and labour in that visinity. Get back to me for more concersation.
