The Lagos state police comand has arrested one Michael Ede, following the mysterious death of his two children. Michael and his two children, Emma, 6, and Darasimi, 4, had gone to bed on Sunday November 11th at their home in the Ikorodu area of Lagos State and accoridng to Micahel, he woke up at 2am and found his children dead. He says he has no idea how they were killed and that he found them in the freezer.

Confirming the incident, the spokesperson of the state police command, CSP Chike Oti, said Michael has been arrested for questioning.

“ONE MICHAEL EDE CAME TO THE STATION TO REPORT THAT AROUND MIDNIGHT ON SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 11, 2018, HE AND HIS TWO CHILDREN, EMMA EDE, 6, AND DARASIMI EDE, 4, SLEPT IN HIS BEDROOM WITH ALL THE APARTMENT’S DOORS SECURELY LOCKED. BUT UNFORTUNATELY, WHEN HE WOKE UP TO URINATE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT, HE COULD NOT FIND HIS CHILDREN, BUT AFTER SEARCHING FOR THEM, HE FOUND THEM DEAD INSIDE THE FREEZER.

“THE CORPSES HAVE BEEN EVACUATED TO THE GENERAL HOSPITAL. WE ARE INVESTIGATING THE MATTER AND WE HAVE ARRESTED THE KIDS’ FATHER FOR QUESTIONING” HE SAID

Oti added that the state Commissioner of Police, Edgal Imohimi, has directed the homicide section of the State Criminal and Investigative Department to take over the case for thorough investigation.

whenever there's a Muslim or Islamic related post on Nairaland, in the comments below, I see insults or curses from probably Christian Nairalanders, but if it's to be a Christianic related post, not even single insult is noticed in the comment.

Bros, 1% is one out of every 100. That's not a massive figure. Maybe in most parts of Anambra, they are 0% but I can bet you that they are very numerous in Ebonyi State. Of course, I have attended to an Igbo Muslim girl before in Asaba. She is from Ebonyi and was schooling at Nkpor. When she told me she was Muslim, I thought it was a joke but she meant it. That was in 2012. I have heard about the massive Islamic Centre at Afikpo before. They have a school and I think they give free Education and through that are drawing many children and their families into Islam. Muslims are making inroads into Ebonyi State but most Igbos are comfortable in Anambra, Enugu, Abia and Imo thinking there's no big deal.
Please, don't get it twisted. I'm not a Muslim.

I said they MAY just be about 1-2%. There's a significant population of Muslims in Afikpo area and many parts of Ebonyi. Let's not also forget Imo State.
If there are 40 million Igbos, 1% will be 400,000. It's not a terrible estimate.

Why did you attach this NL thread that talks about China shutting down churches to your comment though?
Foremost, shutting down churches does not prove that Islam is better than Christianity or any other religions.
Also, the thread highlights that the communist Chinese government is equally persecuting the Muslims in the country by forcing them to eat pork and drink alcohol which are clearly haram in Islam.

So, what did you intend to achieve with that?

Of course Igbos are mainly Catholics. They constitute probably more than half of Igbos. I'm not Catholic by the way. Muslims on the other hand may just be about 1-2% of Igbos (and it's mainly cos of their population in Ebonyi. Imo also has a number of them).
