Effing A...

One ZA lady i met said she only relate with fresh naija people and she hates(strong word) those who are based in ZA

Its sad

Tony Spike: Let me share some of my personal experiences with Africans so far:

1. A Swazi lady once asked me why I was studied (and was studying) when all I needed to do as a Nigerian was to forge certificates and use it for employment. Well, She said Nigerians are expert at forging any documents and University degrees is no exception.

2. A Kenyan once saw me certifying my credentials (transcripts, degree certificate) and the next thing He said was, "Bro, are you sure that your degree certificate isn't forged?". He has been fed with many stories of the Nigerian stereotype. Funny enough, the two years we spent together changed his opinions about a lot of things about Nigerians.

3. A South African policeman once asked me if there were degrees in corruption in Nigeria.

4. A Chinese Professor we took an elevator together asked of my nationality. The moment I mentioned 'Nigeria', He immediately muttered inaudibly, "oh, that country is so corrupt"

There are so many examples I can give. Nigeria has an unpalatable and damaged global profile. Infact, the name Nigeria sends shivers down the spine of many internationals. This is not a joke, I have experienced it so many times and I'm sure many other Nigerians in diaspora will give a longer list longer than what I've experienced. The reason we have a forum like Nairaland is to discuss how we can redeem our image. I don't think this forum should be used to lamblast other African nationals. Let us sort out our own inbred issues before we start accusing other nationals of being lazy, hateful and bigoted. Thanks, y'all.

all4naija: cheesy cheesy cheesy grin grin grin. South Africans always get on my nerves with their primitive actions. Yeah,we meet again.

How are ya?
im fine... if the story is true though,, it is really sad though we only heard from one angle
I wish the undesirable elements in ZA could be punished so that the stereotype is cleansed as i know there are bad people and good people in every nation of the world
PoliticsRe: South-African Girls Arrested For Having Nigerian Friends by biolabee(m): 12:52pm On Jun 28, 2013
Sadly you are right..

A lot of the posters are speaking from stereotypes but some of the other nationalities are no better in this same regard
It is louder here because this is a nigerian centric forum

Tony Spike: The funniest part of this thread is that more than 80% of the Nigerians commenting on this thread have never been to South Africa. Isn't that ironic in itself? Some of us (Nigerians) who once lived with South Africans for over two years are trying to give you guys a real picture of what is on ground, yet you don't wanna hear. Nigerians that earlier came to SA in the late 1990s and early 2000s messed up the place with some really nasty crimes. The situation today hasn't changed but has actually worsened because the South African media ramped the 'Nigerian' crimes to the populace for at least 10 yrs!!! I've interacted with South Africans both professionals and non-professionals. I find it interesting that a lot of them admire Nigerians, but for the crime stereotypes which make them wary of relating properly with us. As a Nigerian, you really need to - work harder to prove yourself everywhere and every time - to show people that you're a different breed from the generalized stereotypical view of Nigerians. This really hurts me and I'm sure many of us who are outside the country understand my point of view.

I don't know if the Nigerian image can be completely redeemed anywhere in the world, it would take a huge miracle, with tough and transformational leadership(s) at home to pull this off. Nigerians are smart, talented, intelligent and wonderful. The only thing lacking in us is discipline, moral rectitude to corruption, reckless materialism and vainglory. These reasons are responsible we get into trouble in almost every known country we travel to. Thanks y'all
Thanks, bruv.

I just can't stand the hypocrisy of most Nigerians. Living in denial is a very problematic state of mind, hence why Nigeria's progress has been stagnated for time.

Honestly, something has to been done about the mentality of most Nigerians. A country that was destined to be the saviour of the black world at independence; only to turn out as the nemesis. Yet most Nigerians still act like nothing is wrong.

History will judge Nigeria.
haha...
The reason why i raised the issue of Micheal is you cant pin that one on naija people naa

toshmann: Why don't you join us to fight for human rights. There issues like racism, domestic violence, equal protection under the law are addressed.
Exactly my points with these feminists... you assume you are in a world of your own and live on the fringes
Same with the gays now who now seem to have more rights than the straight people

One gay can derail a program for 100 straight...
One feminist can derail a program that 100 other women will enjoy... all in the name of equality

They sponsor dodgy researchers to justify that a child raised in a single home is as a good as one raised in a double parent home yet forget about the feral youth menace plaging this communities where breakdown of the family structure has led to the loss of 'community'

Yes in some cases, there is no difference at the best of it but the worst of it is where it matters and where society suffers
Because a single mum is usually someone in her teens and suffers educationally, she is able to earn less and thus cannot provide for that child
If it is a girl, the same cycle is perpetuated

i dont know why they hate marriage so much

Marriage is not perfect.. we know so are humans

Now these people are blaming men for menopause

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-22886668

Men 'to blame for the menopause'

Hot flushes, night sweats, mood swings - menopause and its side effects can all be blamed on men, experts suggest.

Evolutionary geneticists from Canada's McMaster University say men's tendency to choose younger mates meant fertility became pointless for older women.

In PLOS Computational Biology, they say this eventually led to the menopause.

But a UK expert said that was the "wrong way round" and men chose younger women because older women were less fertile.

'Preferential mating'

Researchers have long been puzzled as to why it appears that human are the only species where females cannot reproduce throughout their lives.

Previous theories had proposed a "grandmother effect". This suggests that women lose their fertility at an age where they might not live to see a child grow, and instead are available to care for younger women's children.

The menopause was therefore seen as the block to older women from continuing to reproduce.

fellus no one supports spousal abuse and i will be the first to ferry my daughter out if i suspect she is being physically abused

So leave abuse out of it

Its shuddering that you still belive so much in single parenting

have u spoken to single mothers and know what they go through even in that your western world

fellis: Not really.
Mind you, I am not against both parents raising kids but when that translates to one parent playing controlling dictator over another or demanding constant submission of their spouse to them or in a situation where any of the parents is suffering abuse, then I would prefer single parenthood. Because environments like that are toxic to kids even if both parents are present.
The source of problems in single parenthood is not necessarily single parenthood itself, but a combination of different problems like economic/financial problems, family instability or lack of skill for parenting duties in the parent. A single parent with adequate resources may provide a stable, nurturing home in which children thrive just as well as those who have 2 parents would work out fine.

99cent: I agree.

types of relationship in rank from healthiest to least healthy.
-marriage between a man and women who are equally educated and treat each other with equal respect
-single parenthood
-benevolent slave master (man who intentionally marries a poorer or disadvantaged woman so he will be able to control her. but may not abuse her severely)
-abusive slave master(the wife beaters etc fall in this category).
and how do you define no 1

Yes as a people, we have had some challenges

We all suffer discrimination as a result of this self same issues

Micheal was indoctrinated in the West same with the Boston Bombers which portend an unseen danger of inbred extremism which may blow out within the next ten years

Seems some posters dont get your play
Bruv., it's time to start judging Nigerians. grin

It was Kenya last week, Malaysia two weeks ago, Ghana like a month ago, and now South Africa. Are Nigerians not tired of this nonsense?

Hey, I decided to start calling Nigerians out after the Michael Adebolajo thing. Most Nigerians were acting sanctimonious like Nigerians aren't far worse than those they're always quick to judge.

I don't hate Nigeria - but it high time someone started putting Nigerians in their place.
Again I say; OBITO HAS THE RINNENGAN!

If Kakashi fought Obito without the latter's power up, then sure, the kamui dimension would be all Obito would have going for him...(OR IS IT)

Obito ALSO has Mokuton ability and the god-awful Rinnengan, meaning he could use the ultimate eye's powers cos he has the Senju and Uchiha blood.

Here are some culls from the wikipage
"Obito gained the ability to use Wood Release after acquiring artificial limbs created from Hashirama Senju's cells.[8] His skill with this kekkei genkai was shown during his assault on several Kirigakure-nin after Rin had died. He can use this skill to produce sharp branches from his body to impale enemies.[65] He could use the Wood Release: Cutting Technique, which allowed him to use wood projectiles which multiplied inside a victim's body once stabbed by them.[66] At one point he brought out massive tangled roots from ground which viciously crushed the Kiri-nin caught in-between them.[66] Obito could also produce smaller roots from one of his arms, and use them to restrain and constrict his opponents.[67] Using Hashirama's cells and the aid of Madara, Obito could connect and control (albeit with difficulty) a tailed beast as powerful as the Ten-Tails."

"As a wielder of the Rinnegan, Obito also has access to the aforementioned Six Paths Technique. On one occasion he mentioned that he could use the Human Path technique to extract information from an individual, though the process would kill the target. He has also displayed extensive use of the Outer Path ability, where by combining it with the Demonic Statue, he was able to reseal the tailed beasts into their respective jinchūriki and use their powers freely as well as create chakra chains that he used to suppress their power. Obito is able to use the chains to drag the beasts he controls into his own body or reseal them instantly inside the Statue.[100] He can use the Outer Path: Samsara of Heavenly Life Technique which can revive an individual at the cost of his own life, which he noted to be key to reviving Madara as a living individual and not a reincarnated body."

Oya please tell me how a beat up Kakashi should totally dominate this crazy powered mofoka! He is well on Naruto's level if not higher.
