I get it you are unhappy with the state of the country but your post seems to be condescending and insulting to the majority of nigerians who try frankly to provide a better life for themselves and their families.

You are opportuned to be where you are and it is not by your sense or power. Its just time and chance.

Those who you make fun of are helpless andare just being defensive

We have people like Okonjo, Aganga, Ndidi of LEAP Africa, Bill Gates foundation who are making impact and putting thier money where their mouth is

It is easy to stand afar off and scorn..except you are just catching your trips

For someone who had a near-death experience a little humility never hurt.

interesting insight....

A-town:
Why is it that once we attain the "PASSPORT" of another country, all of a sudden everything Nigerian becomes a "no-no"
Nigeria has a problem but i think it is sad that most diasporans do not realize that they are a bigger shame to the country (i am a diasporan so i'm not being biased).

I have met Nigerians, who say things like, "ah that nigeria, i can't even live there, everything over there is just a mess"....yet you lived there for over 18yrs.
I think getting that "passport" is what actually "shacks" most diasporans. I was with a nigerian recently who was screaming illegal immigrants to fellow nigerians because she's a naturalized american.
Same thing with guns, the first thing most want to do is get a gun, claiming they need it. The same gun you couldn't get for 6years when you were a temporary resident. All of a sudden, you have to have one because you're now a citizen.I guess those without guns are doomed?

I criticize nigeria as well but i do not do it blindly. Regardless of how bad Nigeria is, if you disrepect Nigeria and Nigerians, you are a shame to humanity. How can you continously disrespect "who you are"

if he accepts yes,,, he shd go for a time in the wilderness to seek redemption

he shd not be on the pulpit for a season... remember nebuchadnezzer n wale oke

modupsie:

and after the yes or no answer, what next?
what do u stand to gain? will that free efe or change the damage done to his family by both of them.
am not supporting anyone but whats this craze abt him answering.
if he says yes, what wud you do?
are you God that wud forgive him or how will it affect anyone of us and does that imply he wud change or be renewed?
also if he says no, what will it change?
pls lets leave the 2 of them to God!
one thing i av learnt in life is that either u are a pastor or church goer if you admit your sin to God not the internet, He is filled with unconditional love towards us and would forgive.
we all can condemn ese and pastor biodun, if they both obtain mercy and move on with their relationship with God , then they have a straight ticket to heaven even if the whole cyber world condemns both of them.
so my dear work out your own salvation. the theif on the right side was condemned by the world Jesus saved him
only God knows what happened to those that crucified him in eternity.

when someone sorts out himself or herself with God, y'all can continue your bashing on both ese and pastor or support one party against the other. bottom line is they av been forgiven and God has forgotten about their mistakes.

Erelu_Y: Typical warped Nigerian mentality and self-delusion. It's a shame that rather than advocate that this ‘pastor’ should come clean, some Nigerians are trying to exonerate him. Rather than provide an astute rebuttal of Ese Walter's claim, all this 'pastor' can come up with is "God told me not to speak". Helloooooooo, this is the reason why Nigeria, eternally, would remain doomed. And, when the time comes, Nigerian churches would fall into the same trap and crap that the church in the western hemisphere had fallen into: monumental decay and disrepair—both physically and spiritually!

It takes a bold, brave, educated and full emancipated female of Ms Walter's caliber to come out to the open to make this sort of declaration. Considering also Ese’s level of education, professionalism and exposure, and the consciousness that if her claims were to be established as untrue, then she would be liable to answer for a libel, she definitely wouldn't have come out to the open. I, however, only wished, she had one more round of this amorous liaison with this so-called 'pastor', fully audio-visually taped before blowing it all up. This is a call to all Nigerian women who had been (or are still being) abused (in churches, schools, colleges, universities, private and public offices, etc) to come out to the open and stop being ashamed or intimated. men perpetuating this sort of degrading habits are the one who should be disgraced. This is the 21st century CE. And, this ‘pastor’ is not a one-off. His type exists in Nigerian colleges and universities, the judiciary, armed forces, public and private sectors, and of course, in all church denominations, and within other faith traditions (Islam, African Traditional Religion, etc). But, these, at least do not espouse monogamy. I used to be a Christian. But, once, I discovered the antics of the men of the clothes; once I realised the emptiness of the church; once I understand that religion is a scam; once it dawned on me that the Hebrew Bible contains nothing but folklore; in short, once I became enlightened, I turned my back on religion, and freed myself from its shackles.

Very wrong my dear. If everyone had this mentality, there would be no diasporans because the entire world would refuse visas to ALL NIGERIANS whether eligible or not. This is the same thing the slave masters said. "them nigggers aint human, they aint smart, we don't need to teach them how to read/write because it's a lost cause"

You are very wrong. Poverty can make any human behave like a donkey. I repeat, since you have been exposed to a better way of life, it is your responsibility to "impact" others in a positive way, whether they beef you or not.

He that is least among you is the greatest.....

A-town:

Mrs Jenny Kadry,

I think by starting this thread and making some of the comments, you erred big time. Yes there may be people who beef NID and wot not. As a diasporan that has benefitted from the west, the onus is on you to show THEM THE RIGHT way. How about trying to do things that will educate them/make them be less critical. How about putting some of the skills that you have gained into good use when you are back in the country. You are a NIGERIAN first and everything you are today is attributed to being a NIGERIAN. The only reason you appreciate AUSTRALIA is because you have seen WORSE conditions in Nigeria. Rather than castigate these people, you can help alleviate the problem. The only common denomination here is POVERTY. THe only people that have time to beef anyone are the poor ones. THe rich people in nigeria don't have time for that because they are too busy making more money or enjoying their fabolous lives.

As an example, how many times have you seen a diasporan come back to the country, buy gala and fan yogo and then toss it out the window when they wouldn't do such in their country of domicile?
How many times have you seen diasporans come back in the country, have to line up at an office or something and then use their status/pay someone to get ahead of the line?
Their are tonnes of examples available. The question is, is it right for you to accuse a poor man for being oppressed?

PBundles: To be honest its goes both ways.

Those in Nigeria do seem to sometimes show some aggression towards everything that those in diaspora do or say, though I must say I USUALLY ( so not always) see it with those that are having a hard time make ends meet in Nigeria. Those that are making it in Nigeria dont seem to care.

But on the other hand some diaspora bring it upon themselves. Telling bogus lies about how they are living abroad and then when they go home want to oppress fellow Nigerians living Nigeria trying to put them down. Stop talking in slangs or accents that everyone can see you are faking, tell the truth about your situation that you need 2-3 jobs to make ends meet, that the car you Instagramed is not paid off but leased etc.

I have had the opportunity to have lived in Nigeria (though only 6 years) and the rest overseas ( US and Europe). The main difference in my humble opinion between Nigeria and diaspora is that hard work does seem to pay off most of the time in diaspora whilst in Nigeria hardwork is not the key to success.

A more realistic post

Excellent shot from you monsieur...

Some of the NIDs have an aggravated sense of self aggrandizement hence the genesis of the nin v nid battles as you can see 12 pages now
Unfortunately the NINs who are either doing well or some who are hustlers though will not take it lying down...

Lobatan!!!! cheesy

Wahala

Passing Shot:

Excellent summary. But the OP is right in pointing out the jealousy of some NIN towards NID. At no or slightest opportunity, these sadists and "cretinous products" of the failed system called Nigeria insult and condemn anything and everything that has to do with NID. The more reasons some of us have limited our contributions to few topics here. It's really pathetic to discover that 'e-jealousy" exists and even worse than physical jealousy.

@OP but some of the words you said about your fatherland is not good o. Remember that "ti ita ba le ni, ile ni a maa pada si o" meaning "when adversities and/or circumstances dictate that living abroad is no longer feasible, your only option remains to return home".

Still a drawback of patriachial societies where women are seen as demonic agents and men are absolved of their desires

Declining male fertility: IMSI to the rescue
on august 26, 2013 at 1:00 am in health

By SOLA OGUNDIPE

AS the rising problem of male-factor infertility is being effectively tackled with a technologically advanced approach called Intra-Cytosplasmic Morphologically-Selected Sperm Injection, IMSI, Nigerian couples with such challenge  have been urged to take advantage of the technique.
IMSI enables direct selection of good sperms from the man and then injecting into the woman’s egg to successfully achieve pregnancy.
It is  a build up on a previously existing treatment for male-factor infertility treatment procedure called Intra-Cytosplasmic Sperm Injection, ICSI.

Making the call last week,Medical; Director, Nordica Fertility Centre, Lagos, Dr. Abayomi Ajayi, said couples who may have been experiencing failed assisted reproduction conceptions or recurrent miscarriages, may need to be investigated for the problem of male-factor infertility.
“When we compared the sperm parameters of men who presented 10  years ago in our clinic with parameters of those who are presenting now, we found that there is about a 30 percent decline in the sperm count of those presenting now,” Ajayi stated.
Noting that although the observation was based strictly on patients attending the clinic and not  the whole community, he hoever noted: “We are seeing  more male issues than what we saw 10 years ago. The sperm parameters are becoming worse, and therefore it  is necessary to bring it to the front burner and we cannot talk about it without talking about technology, because we know there is no drug right now that solves the problem of deranged sperm count or bad sperm parameters.”
Arguing that IMSI is someting we need to talk about, Ajayi stated: “From our  findings, IMSI has increased pregnancy rates in people with previous failures in ICSI, and we also saw there were less abortion rates. IMSI is only indicated when there is less than two million sperm count  and motility less than 5 percent.
“First, sperm count is low, then there is higher incidence of genetically deformed sperms. Much of the problems with bad sperm is genetic, and  they can burn out,”he noted.
Nordica Fertility Centre  pioneered the technique in West Africa, and says IMSI doubles the chances of men with abnormally low sperm count and poor sperm motility. It was gathered series of pregnancies have already been successfully achieved through the pioneering initiative
