I done dey laugh tire. Lakers are really going out with a doughnut just like last year. I Kuku said it here they should have just allowed Pelicans to take 7th position jeje. They have a chance of doing better in a series against OKC but Birdman dey mention basketball gods. Shebi Basketball gods have designed this one now, being swept by the same team in two consecutive seasons. Lakers had better win the next game otherwise the way I would so troll my Lebron fanboys, dem no go like am.

Bball gods dont lie. This team doesnt even deserve to be in the playoffs. Denver is exposing the truth

Dlo, Reaves must leave the club

Like wtf is this ..

They are not the problem. KCP was on this lakers squad, and nothing came of it. This is a leadership problem, lack of mental toughness

If Lakers lose tonight, that's the end.

The end of the coach for sure. Even if they win. That dumbo move to slow down the clock and let nuggets defense get set every possession in the 3rd q needs to be punished

Lebron was cool with it too cuz it let him rest

The GM didn't use his brain assembling this team at all. There's a glaring lack of dawg.

I don't know what's going on with these guys but I look at a KD for example and he looks almost annoyed that the TWolves are getting physical, like he should just be allowed to show skills and score like it's another game at Rucker park.

Durant said offense is what wins championships, not defense. When he was challenged, he claimed he knew better. I expect Suns to try to out magic twolves in game 3 again. Anyhow its too late to learn how to play team defense, if all season long you believed offense would always give you the edge. Might as well go down with what you believe

Lebron's reponse was very disappointing. Yeah, I understand covering up for coach's crappy rotations, but trying to blame this on officiating is not goat behavior. And those close to him, if they love him need to pull him aside. Maybe like a Magic who has nothing to gain and can speak freely without worrying about consequences. Because if Lakers get swept by the Nuggets, Lebron's reputation as Goat material will be severely damaged.

A goat candidate is not just a dog in a game, he must be able to inspire his teammates into becoming dogs in at least one game, regardless of coaching, and they should be able to punch a superior opponent in the mouth at least once. At least once! And there are no crutches like injuries to use this time, even if AD decides to "manufacture" some leg injury in game 3, this team is still stacked enough.

If not, it would have been better for Lakers to have never made this playoffs.

If the Lakers are going to lose this game, it'll be because of turnovers and offensive rebounds.

The rebuild wasn't patient, It was stealthy, very rapid and very effective. As at 2020, Chris Paul was still at OKC. Before then they had Paul George, West Brook and Carmelo Anthony and they all made the playoffs. OKC never tanked apart from the 20/21 and the 21/22 seasons. Last year they made the Play-in. This year, they went top seed in the Western Conference. I have never seen a rebuild as quick as that.

CP3 got traded to htown like 2017? OKC has been in a rebuild for at least 5 or 6 seasons. I would have to googles to see how long but they tanked shamelessly when they needed to, and stacked that team with young guns.

Lol...make we try get past this Pelicans...we are already rated as the weakest number 1 ever to come out of the West..

Expect you guys to get to the Conference finals..

I greet you boss!!!Good to hear from you..

Thats why I did not want Lakers or Warriors to play you guys or the Wolves. They might use playoffs bright lights to beat you guys. As it is, your first round matchup should steady yall. I want to see SGA and Edwards make some noise this year.

By the same token, I am very satisified to see Lakers run into Nuggets in round 1 grin Either they deserve to be in the playoffs or just go home and get some icyhot

All those regular season ooh ahhs of Kyries game. Err'body silent now grin

AD, we dey watch your moves tonight. You should be shouldering this load instead of allowing papa smurf to gas out after 3 quarters. Otherwise this is your last year in lalaland

Did you watch the game? He was the single most important factor in turning the game around in the 2nd quarter.

A key block and 9 pts when they were down 12.

Not a convincing win is a very funny claim to make. A team won with double digits with 0 Free throws in a half. The second fewest free throws in a playoff win ever. Lol woe betide the next Laker fan who cries about officiating

If the win is convincing nko? 9 wins in a row? Anyway that's irrelevant.
No one will preface it with convincing or non convincing. Series has just begun

I know what I saw. If AD steps up they can win this. Tge reason Lebron gassed out early is because AD was passive in the screens he would set for Lebron, and kept deferring to Lebron to take over. This happened all first half. There is no way kcp, mpj and former mr chicago have better firepower than lakers cast!
Sports / Re: The NBA Begins by birdman(m): 4:05am On Apr 21
I fully understand AD now. Even why he has yoyo games. He doesnt want that smoke, and has never wanted it. He wants to play in rhythm, and will never really go get the points. Case in point, tonight. If you look at the box score, great. But if you watched him all game, guy man was coasting. He could easily have ended up with 13 pts or 43pts

Porter Jr again. This nigga is cold blooded. Even with all the family wahala

Anybody can be cold blooded when up by 10. This was not a convincing win imo. Lakets lost that mental edge in the 3rd as Lebron gassed out and chucked that parking lot 3.

D'Angelo don cost us this game ..

Why shoot those 3s..
Omo its now official D'Angelo is playoff trash..

Immediately he turn over that ball .. the game changed

Not really. You cant just look at the box score. On paper AD did well. In actual fact he was very tentative and many of those shots by Russell should not have happened

Where is our resident socialist economist @birdman you now see why Cube wanted to pay Caitlin Clark that much?

This girl represents their last chance for their league to break even. If the BWs and Woke mafia like let them kick against her push to become the cash cow with their agendas and let's see what becomes of their semi professional league

Did she take his offer? No. So he just ate bad press for the fun of it. Now you see why cube should have shut up?

Do Lakers tank their play in game and duck the Nuggets? Or win and damn the consequences.

I don't know why everyone will write them off yes they've been losing but I'd argue they're deeper than Denver. Presently there's 5 guys averaging at least 15pts per game. The idea that Lakers will stand no chance is a bit weird.

Win and face the nuggets. Darvin Ham is about to get fired depending on how this goes. Some would argue he gets fired regardless. Might as well try ya luck lol

In year 21, LeBron is still doing things that have never been done, in a league that has existed for almost 70 years. Just amazing .

Yes the league is softer and its easier to score. But Lebron is much older and his game has slowed a lot. That he can still impact the game like this, guy man takes care of his body. Even D1 athletes have trouble with the NBAs pace. Crazy

One more thing. I don't know if it's just me but it seems with every passing game I get less and less impressed with Zion. His numbers might be gaudy but his game don't be passing the smell and impact test for me especially in big games. Anyway I'm open to new information in the future though

Zions numbers are all over the place. Definitely not franchise tag worthy imo.

Lol. The old guys are not done yet it's obvious. Guy, that class of players is like the most talented group ever. Bron, Steph, KD, Dame, PG, Kyrie, Harden, Kawhi, Jimmy. They're not going anywhere.

There is more to rings than talent. Where has Kyries talent gotten him since that ring? The only two in that list that have any hope is Steph and Bron because of their mindset to the game. Unfortunately they dont have the right supporting cast. KD has exposed himself, he just wants to be a gunner, nothing more. Likewise Dame and Harden. Kawhi, for all the skill in this world is criminally under-motivated. Jimmy is a Larry Brown/JVG type player, maximizing his few talents but falling short in the end. PG could have used some mentorship from Kobe. His game is nice, but it has never taken that next step. Home boy is content.

Giannis is the goose that lays the golden egg and puts butts in the seats. Hiring his brother is not a charity move. With the value Giannis provides to the Bucks having his brother tag along is one of the perks of the office. Completely different scenarios

Exactly! Now you get it! By himself giannis brother is not a smart financial move. But as tag along to his brother, it is. You have to think through your move, not just on immediate dollars and cents.

So now, back to ice cube. Follow me now. Caitlin likely will not play for Cube anyhow. So net net, do you think this whole episode is a positive for cube or a negative? Ahan, now you gerrit.

Ah, apparently the Suns winning the Kings was the best result for the Lakers. We're now up to 8th position. We win the Pels in the final game and we remain 8th and play the Suns in the Play-in if they also win their final game. They lose against Minnesota and we play the Pels. Oluwa, do am for us o.

You are feeling very confident o. Normally I should feel confident with Lebron playing very good basketball right now and healthy. But as you know, this thing comes down to AD. And you know how your boy be

Another part of me feels like the old school teams should just be cut off, let the youngns ball. This could be the coming out party for some young talent

We are talking about money here. Thanasis's salary is just a couple bucks taken from Giannis's bulk. Giannis is the cash cow that draws the viewership so you do anything keep the star player happy so that you retain viewership and
grow your money.

Thank you for this example. He is taking a roster spot that could have helped the bench come playoffs. But he is more useful in a way that is not monetary. Shey you get now. Business at the end is about money, but the road to the money requires wisdom, including doing giveaways. Cube should have mechonu. Take example from other sports moguls, no be everything you go chook mouth inside

Angel Reese is not spectacular. What she does layups, rebounds and blocks is the same any forward would do. There are forwards who would eat her up in the NBA. Clark on the other end, if her teammates are game with her and they set perfect screens, she would keep on throwing those flames. The babe threw 9 3-point shots against LSU in the elite eight, which woman ever did that? BBall doesn't know color, BBall knows talent. Leave your talent on the floor and you'll draw eyes. More viewers means more funds in the Aza. Don't blame Ice Cube. He is a business man after all.

Sorry boss, but this is not really true in any business. Some people get hired for talent, others get hired to keep things smooth. You think Giannis brother was hired by Bucks based on his skills? Even where you work, Im sure you know folks like this lol.

This is the nature of things, and good businessmen know to stay out of these type of controversies. Notice how no other black mogul touched this matter with care, focusing on S Carolina coach instead.

Have you watched the BIG 3? Cube is already paying his dues to the AA community with the BIG 3. Man is fending for grown men (mostly African American I should add) who retired decades ago or play overseas and don’t necessarily have the financial wealth. He is well within his right to pursue something that would repay his investment in Caitlin. Sorry A. Reese doesn’t have the following that Caitlin commands, no female WNBA does and they all know that.

For all the noise about “women supporting women”, I thought I would see more acceptance and support from the female gender but it has been the opposite from numerous angles. There are generational talents that are the exception and Caitlin is one of them. Even if she goes to the WNBA and fails, her cult following in college will remain historic and unprecedented.

Im not claiming that he isnt. Me personally, I dont have any issues with him. But all decisions are not purely financial. There is always history and recency bias in these things. Any good businessman knows this. Forbes 500 companies spend billions on goodwill all the time, even accountants recognize it can have cash value on a balance sheet. For Cube to jump into the fray this way was not smart imo. Just because it makes you money doesnt mean its good business. He should have stayed faaaar away from this
Sports / Re: The NBA Begins by birdman(m): 3:41am On Apr 13
A40:

Lol. What yeye underlying issues. What have black women done for Ice Cube's Big 3 league?
Why should he pander and bend over backwards to a demographic that has not supported his brand for the most part?

Maybe it's their culture but I've never seen any other group of men who are groomed as indentured servants to their women. The level of entitlement and ownership I've never seen elsewhere. The women demand it the men enforce and police it. Pure insanity

Well, when cube was a nobody, they were the ones watching his movies and listening to his music until he became big enough to do his own thing. It would be like Davido or Wizkid getting this big and thinking they can stop catering to the nigerian base. Las las it wont end well. I think guys like Cube should learn lessons from dem Denzel, etc the older generation. Everything is not simply about the dollars
