A40: We be guys. E no fit turn anything.
I'm speaking from the player angle. The amount of smear campaign I've seen on Jaylen Brown these past few days is ridiculous. Even the Grizzlies did not do that with Ja Morant who was causing real problems, not even Draymond Green.
He was the longest tenured Celtic. For almost half a decade if not more. He deserved better treatment
I don't normally go above and beyond to side with players but this JB own is different. It's not his fault he's a highly intelligent brother with an opinion and performances to back it up I keep trying to tell you, see those off hand interviews he does stirs waters in the same way it did for other athletes like Mohammed Ali, etc. If you are an entertainer/sports guy and you decide to play in the activist space, you likely take more shots than even a badly behaved team mate. Especially when you start naming names and places. Those shots come disguised with other issues, but the primary push is certain folk you named. Im not saying its right or wrong, its just what it is and I personally don't think he wants or should want all that smoke, but Im probably wrong. I wish him the best, just let the game do your talk back and revenge for you. Dont make personal attacks on GM, city or team, however tempting. I say it because when he is in front of a mic, with the right crowd, brother gets going. |

Roland17: I have chosen to not engage any further on this topic before e turn another thing for this thread or present like I hold any iota of grudge or animosity against JB. I wish him all the best though.
People don’t understand the dynamics of organizations they find themselves in. Agreed. I actually like the guy, to come out of ATL and be well spoken and level headed, all props all day. I wish him the best as well, I just dont want to see pops on these interviews stirring waters or making his son have to vocalize what needs to stay low key. |

A40: In a league Tobias Harris has made over $300m I think JB would have been Gucci regardless. They did not do him a favor. He was paid his rightful dough nau as a lottery pick that brought you a Chip and at worst was your second best player
Now to this attitude. Tell me what is JB's offense. I am still waiting for any Celtics FO defender to show me what JB has done wrong. Was he late to practice? DUI? Fighting coaches and teammates? DV?
I'm still trying to find out the exact nature of his offense and maybe I can see your point. I am open to new information but if the Warriors can stand behind a nut job like Draymond Green. Then what has JB done that made him trade fodder every other year? And why do you think he should just take it lying down Warriors are not Celtics. Cut coat according to your organization. And he better take it lying down, he is an employee, and needs to remember somebody is writing the check. May God give the young man common sense to know which battles to pick. |

A40: Back to JB. What was his crime? Can you specifically point to anything JB did that brought the reputation of the Celtics to negative press. Was he breaking any laws? Was he cursing anybody in management? All that man said was it was his best season because of the adversity the team faced and that everyone thought it was a lost season with a team of misfit toys. Attitude is important anywhere you work, and definitely in corporate America. And I dont think JB cared enough to at least try. Regardless of how corporate America tries to butter you, you will know what they think by what they pay you. They did good by your boy |

Roland17: There is a way I don’t want to speak about JB because to God, he is one of my favorite players and boy have I always rooted for him. I’d hate to come across like critical because of this situation.
JT is the face of this franchise, know this and know peace. He fits how the Celtics works in terms of face of the franchise. JB over the last 2-3 years has earned his stripes. The Celtics have done right by him in every situation, payed him, supported his causes; you name it.
I hope after he leaves he shows the city the love and respect.. but I won’t be shocked if he doesn’t. I wont be shocked either. He never fully embraced Celtics or Boston, even after the ring. There is just something about JB, he is kind of abrasive in a very low-key way. I dont know what the reason would be, but pre and post contract and championship, guy man moves like a quiet volcano. Frankly I am surprised Celtics stayed with him this long. Im hoping Im wrong, that he does the right thing, speaks well of Boston and Celtics and moves on like a professional should. Well sha, I look forward to seeing my two hated teams beat each other silly come playoffs next year. |

A40: Can you blame him? He's always been dangled as trade bait for the past 6 seasons or more so I can understand his bitterness.
When has JT ever been rumored to be involved in any trade? These are two players drafted back to back that you are supposed to join them at their hip till they're approaching retirement
Yet your team keeps dangling JB as trade bait. I will kick up dust too when you're treating me like an adopted child How bitter can you be with the largest contract in history? Which adopted child is getting 300milli? Bro was childish! |

Roland17: This is why Boston isn’t picking JB over JT. See I love JB and since he was drafted, I have been rotting hard for him, receipts full this thread but man has allowed everything get over his head. He is constantly in the news and teams like the Celtics don’t like that. He just needs to say less and just allow things fall in place. I really liked him at first, quiet, respectful, puts in the work. Brother has a lot of knowledge, but unfortunately little wisdom. Guy just speaks anyhow, alienating folk for no reason. Reminds me of the bible verse that says, "knowledge puffs up". He loves hearing himself talk, but he is low key foolish with the way he just spouts off |
Sports › Re: The NBA Begins by birdman(m): 2:21pm On Jun 24 |
Roland17: That style isn’t going to get them anywhere in 2026. They need perimeter shooters. They can’t afford to lose. . Powell at this point. Oh cmon, look on the bright side . The last Knicks-Heat brawl was like 30 years ago, we due for another. I wonder what social media would do today if a coach was pulling a players leg in a brawl. I dont know if coach Brown built like that, but no one thought Jeff van Gundy was either . More seriously, shooting can be addressed easily in today's league, so I dont think its a problem. Main thing imo is can a Bam Giannis duo stay healthy long enough to make a difference |
Sports › Re: The NBA Begins by birdman(m): 8:59pm On Jun 23 |
A40: Giannis injury history is a bit of a red flag. Since they won the chip he's played more than 60 games just once and he turns 32 soon with no jumper in sight. I can understand why the Celtics didn't trade the house
Anyway I will like to see how the floor spacing will look like with Bam, Giannis and Wiggins all guys that can't really shoot
They will be elite defensively though but with no Point and no shooting I guess we shall see Didnt trade or couldnt trade? Well, we back to Miami of old, all brawn, no shooting. Im sure Alonzo Mourning and dem old school heat fans appreciate such a team |
Sports › Re: The NBA Begins by birdman(m): 4:51pm On Jun 23 |
JB was already a crabby guy on a good day. He will throw a fit seeing his name mentioned in trades yesterday.
I hope the young lad is smart enough to shut up for once and enjoy his contract. Celtics have been good to him. |

Roland17: Birdman! Birdman!! Allow me na…
Bam and Giannis with whom? There is no way they are keeping T. Herro. There have been conversations about keeping JB and still getting Giannis; I don’t put that past B. Stevens. That JB contract heavy, so you right, he likely stays. But that reduces flexibility and tilts in Heat favor I think, and Herro will definitely be touched. I know we would give up Sengun to bring Giannis to Rockets |
Sports › Re: The NBA Begins by birdman(m): 3:11am On Jun 23 |
Roland17: Na every minute I dey refresh..
It’s between Celtics and Miami. long throat. which team is a better fit depends on what pieces they lose. Bam and Giannis would be must watch. I think JB would be too much to give up for Giannis. But it would signal Celtics playing a different game, which is what I alluded to earlier about the EC changing hands |
Sports › Re: The NBA Begins by birdman(m): 1:56am On Jun 19 |
Roland17: I don't know if to call it an overreaction because it is big market team, especially NY versus a small market team. We speak about the players like they were recently assembled. The core of this roster are very experienced in the league and have been together for a lil bit. Lets not speak like these are a bunch of nobodies who stumbled on a title. When the Celtics got knocked out, I said this is the easiest window for Brunson or Spida to get a ring because the East was easy. I really don't understand all the noise, particularly about the players. Knicks are a very experienced bunch no doubt and it helped them. But this is year 1 of a new coach, and you can tell they were well coached. They studied the spurs like a book, and executed accordingly. They made Sixers look like like a rookie team, the same Sixers team that outdueled yourceltics. To your next point, the east was not easy this year, instead the east has changed. Just packing stars with bad coaching will go nowhere, as you saw with your team and sixers. Orlando will only be better next year, as will Atlanta, and Detroit. Celtics and Sixers might not admit it yet, but you guys are about to become perennial playoff flameouts as the younger teams gun you out of contention. |

This is some of the most insane shot making I've seen. All you can do if you're the Knicks is hope they go cold and you can halve the deficit somehow cut it to where the Spurs begin playing tight. 60% from the field. 14 3s at the half. How do you even combat that exactly what you said. Make them uncomfortable. No one should be shooting 60% in finals |

Roland17: Bull former player and announcer, Stacey King died this morning. I am hearing it’s from a fall in his home. This is a Heartbreaking loss for the entire Bulls organization and the City of Chicago.
I remember when work took me to Chicago for a few months, I looked forward to his commentaries because of the passion he had for his Bulls and he made it fun. He was also a presence before games and was quite close to the players.
His long time play by play partner Neil Funk (now retired) has to be devastated.

The last time I saw a Spurs Knicks finals... Ol boy, time flies! Latrell Sprewell, Marcus Camby, Chris Childs, that team had no joy, Ewing was like the nicest guy on the team, and Ewing is not nice ! But the admiral would not be denied that ring, with the young Tim Duncan. I feel some nostalgia about those years, the league was much less polished, more rugged and the knicks were just as grimy as the streets of new york. It is interesting to see Spurs in the finals with another big man top pick a la Timmy D. These knicks are way way more offensively talented, but only Brunson feels like that old school knicks team. Ok, lemme stop rambling. Aliondo take heart bruv SGA is still my guy, but I think they lost some defensive identity trying to make up for Jalen Williams on the offensive end |

SGA struggling now that he actually has to work for his buckets and refs have decided not to call ticky tack fouls Its good for him imo. He depends on it too much. He is too skilled to be playing that way. The game 7 we all waiting for is here! Where is that cat that was claiming he preferred series sweeps? Lol |

This one too? Haba Birdman. The overall officiating is shameful. It's fine if you don't agree but it's he truth. Plus the Spurs have to play better.
And then, don't lie against Steph like that. He isn't known for flopping and flailing about. Steph runs around like a madman. NBA players legit say the same thing about having to guard him especially off the ball. Not the ? Superstar treatment A bad call no doubt. But still, yall blowing it out of proportion. And I apologize for touching Steph. But feel free to go find earlier videos of steph, when he started shooting lights out. If you touched him, it was a foul |

my man, if na 3second offside perspective you wan use determine matter, you are on a long thing. you can always find tons of these. Go checkout kobe lakers. Those miracle 3s your boy Curry be taking, you think folk didnt want to get up in his space? Prime Harden, you fit body am? Make una stop this SGA hating and give the lad his flowers. The one you just even posted, the ref looking from the front has a better view, and that could very well have been more physical than it looked to you from the back. E lo calm down abeg.
And Steph did get the same treatment, which is why he never had to build body strength - you couldnt even breathe on him, talk less play him physical! At least you can body SGA, you wan try am with Curry? lol you seem to have forgotten so quick.... |
Sports › Re: The NBA Begins by birdman(m): 8:10pm On May 27 |
Hohenheim: People gotta stop with this ref narrative after every OKC win. These guys execute at a high level consistently. The offensive player with the ball will always get the benefit of the doubt. OKC has 5, maybe 6 players that can play fast, dribble around for 20s and not lose the ball, and still make a fadeaway jumpshot. Or be aware enough to find the best open man. Spurs are playing a different game. One truly special, unstoppable player that the team is built around. New school vs old school if you will. Problem is, the one superstar is a big man, and can not play even 10 minutes at the pace OKC plays. Spurs do have some hope, they have guards that can step up and play like OKC does. But it is hard to erase a regualr season of bad habits in one playoff series. Spurs guards especially, have gotten used to playing like donkeys sometimes, and Wemby's brilliance covered tham. |
