Sports / Nwankwo Kanu Mysterious Contract At Portsmouth F.c by bishoprccg(m): 8:34am On Aug 29, 2009
Super Eagles inspirational captain : Nwankwo Kanu remains till date, the most highly decorated African footballer till date, with an illustrious career spanning more than 15 years.
He is an epitome of courage determination and strong will.
When others would have given up, he kept on displaying skills upon skills.
From Ajax, Inter milan, Arsenal, Westbromwich Albion and now at Portsmouth, he has not stopped creating an impart wherever he goes.
At the national team level, he has rescued Nigeria on several occasions from the brink of defeat.
In the light of the above, i was shocked with the recent news of his "mysterious One month contract he signed at Portsmouth.
That is unlike Kanu, and i am worried that this may affect him negatively as the build up to 2010 World cup hots up.
What may have led Kanu to Sign such a contract?
Did Portsmouth give him such condition due to his age?
Will Kanu be able to get a decent contract after the expiration of this contract?
Is Kanu really declining in form for him to deserve such an absurd contract?
Question, Question and more Questions kept ringing in my ears.
All i need is an answer to Kanu's mysterious contract.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Lessons From Berlin by bishoprccg(m): 3:41pm On Aug 24, 2009
Guys,
i can feel u all.
its so frustarating that things have gone from bad to worse.
Lets not say all hope is lost anyway.
At least the super eagles are there to give us joy?
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Lessons From Berlin by bishoprccg(m): 10:55pm On Aug 21, 2009
The IAAF World Athletic Championships recently held in Berlin Germany, has come and gone, but not with some few lessons for the Nigerian contingent which could not muster the strength to grab any medal of any color.
To top the dismal performance of the Nigerian athletes, two of them: shot putter Vivian Chukwuemeka and sprinter Gloria Kemasuode were convicted of doping offenses.
In a championship that saw the reigning 100m World champion Usain Bolt breaking his own record in the 100m and 200m respectively, all the country could boost of, was a miserable performance characterized with injuries to top athlete Blessing Okagbare, drug cheating and dismal performances from Obinna Metu, Olusoji Fasuba, Egwero Ogho-Oghene and Ajoke Odumosu.
They all fell like pack of cards when the biggest occasion in the athletic world came calling.
The situation is not only pathetic, but indicative of the root Nigeria’s sports.
The blame should not only go to the athlete, as they could only offer what they had.
You can only give what you have!
The athletic Federation of Nigeria led by Chief Solomon Ogba, must be immediately investigated and made to explain what went wrong.
The Ministry of sports should also be made to share the blame of our shameful performance at Berlin.
It is not enough to produce local champions and go to the world stage, only to chicken out when faced with the like of Usain Bolt and Tyson Gay.
What we need is a well articulated structure that will help groom athletes from the grassroots.
The National sports festival would have been a good haunting ground for our selectors, but this has be turned into a charade due to the use of overage athletes and banned substances.
It is no secret, that majority of athletes are involved in this illicit use of banned substances, even at the sports festival and at major national championships.
Proper training facilities should be provided both here and abroad for these athletes to excel at major international events.
A case in this direction is that of long jumper: Blessing Okagbare, who grabbed a bronze medal at the last Olympic Games held in Beijing, China.
She was able to perform at the Olympics, due to the training she had in the United States of America 6 months before the Olympics.
The Ministry of sports should do all it can to help in the quick release of fund to the AFN.
The idea of releasing funds meant for training and camping just few days to major championships, is not only discouraging, but capable of creating brain drain in the Athletic circle, as it occurred some years back when francis Obikwelu and Gloria Alozie dumped the country for Spain.
The AFN should be proactive in the area of seeking for sponsorship.
Why on earth should telecoms giant Globacom, sponsor half marathon, when Nigerians are not good at running long distance races.
The idea is totally uncalled for, because the chief beneficiaries are the Kenyans, Ethiopians, Tanzanians and other east African Athletes.
MTN and the Rivers state Government are also guilty are this waste of fund in sponsoring half Marathon, which does not help our Athletes.
The AFN should please liaise with these cooperate institution and convince them on the need to turn their sponsorship attention to other athletic event that will be beneficial to the country’s Athletes.
Mobil Oil producing are the only company till date, that has consistently supported Athletic events in Nigeria.
On a final note, Nigeria should learn from the failure of Berlin, and work out a winning strategy before the next Olympic Games which is coming up in London in 2012.
Usain Bolt has made a bold statement, that anything is possible, as long as you believe and work towards it.
Setting a new world record of 9.58 seconds in the 100m is no mean feat, but he did it in style and ease.
Nigerian Athletes should brace up for the challenge, and stop been intimidated.
The Athletic Federation of Nigeria should wake up to the challenge and aim to produce consistent athletes in the mold of Usain Bolt.
Sports / Can Amoudu Withstand World Cup Pressure? by bishoprccg(m): 1:52pm On Jul 28, 2009
The recent performance by the Super Eagles in the qualification towards FIFA 2010 World Cup to be hosted by South Africa next year has not been all that encouraging considering the fact that we are a force to be reckoned with in Africa football.
The truth remains that Amodu Shauibu has exhausted himself of all ideas to bring out a winning team.
Watch Brazil, in the last confederation cup and you will see what i mean.
They play with conviction zeal and determination, and the coach- Dunga, is always coming up with winning formulas, that has made the Samba boys to be respected world wide.
If and if only we qualify for SA 2010, can Amoudu face the likes of Brazil, USA, Mexico or even Netherlands?
As for me, i feel he lacks the technical depth to help the Super Eagles achieve the desired results.
One, he is reluctant in using younger players, instead he relies heavily on the same old players that lack the zeal and drive to get results.
Check Samson Siasia, and you will see a world of difference.
He single handedly built a team from the scratch and got to the finals of the U-20 World Cup in Holland, where they lost narrowly to Argentina.
He repeated the same feat in 2008, during the Beijing Olympics where he led the Dream team 4 to the finals.
He believes so much in talents and not big names.
That resulted in the dropping of Mikel Obi prior to the Olympics, and he did not bulge to pressure.
Can Amodu resist pressure from the Football federation, the sports ministry and build a formidable world cup squad if we eventually qualify?
Can he stand the fire works that will come from the Brazilians, Argentinians, Czech republic , ?
Can Amodu deliver when the chips are down?
Only time will tell.
I may not be a prophet of doom, but i don't believe in his ability to spring surprises.
I may be wrong, but dear readers please tell me what you think.
Jobs/Vacancies / Tips For A Successful Job Interview by bishoprccg(m): 7:35pm On Apr 05, 2009
INTRODUCTION
Getting a job in this period of economic melt down has become a Herculean task.
Recent statistics show a gradual increase in employment rate, and companies are downsizing their work force, to enable them meet up with the harsh economic situation.
As a young graduate, just fresh from the university with a desire to find a job, how do you go about job hunting?
It’s pretty simple, as long as you understand the chemistry of job interview.

First of all find out as much as you can about the company you intend to work for. Try to document yourself about everything the job you are competing for can include in the products or services the company offers. Knowing these things will make you feel more confident when you will be asked specific questions about the company. Most of the information above can be found on the company website. Do well to check out their website and grab as much information as you can.

Make sure you are carrying with you a copy of your CV, written in a professional manner, including all details that could be of interest for that specific company. Copies of your passport photograph and some of the works or project you have done will also be useful during the course of the interview.

Look your interviewer in the eyes, because this thing shows that you have confidence in yourself and that you are focusing on the subject. Show some enthusiasm towards the firm you are trying to work for.
I once attended an interview with a furniture company, and the conference room was chilling cold. We were about ten applicants facing the interviewers, and I observed one of us was sweating profusely despite of the cold temperature of the room.
The fellow ended up muddling up all his answers to the questions he was been asked. At the end of the day, he was not recruited.
Firms need individuals who are confident and self driven.
They are unlikely to take applicants who cannot stand up in the presence of board members and defend their actions and decisions.

Dress up as professional as possible. If the company style claims the wear of a suit, then wear that suit and look as presentable as possible because that is most important and it will make just the difference you need. But don’t over dress!

Try to answer the questions, in not more than 60 seconds. That doesn’t mean that you have to answer with simple yes and no, but long answers will make the interviewer lose his interest. And you might also lose you concentration.

Listen carefully and answer to questions directly. If you did not understand a question, ask them to explain it better to you politely, and do not answer unless you are sure what you have been asked.

Prepare to tell them what your past activities have been and the way you consider they can influence your career. Give some examples that can end up leaving a good impression of you.
The most important aspect of telling them about yourself is your ability to tell the truth about your expectation, especially with regard to the amount of salary you may want the company to offer you. Remember to be yourself, and avoid pretending to be someone else.

Ask questions. The questions you will ask show that you are proactive and that you want to make sure this place is indeed the right work place for you.
Finally, never appear to be so desperate for the job or position you are applying for.
Employers of labor don’t like desperate or frustrated individual.
Appearing desperate in front of your interviewers will send the wrong message, and you will end up selling yourself so cheap in the eyes.

All said and done, remember to send a “Thank You” note at not more than 2 days after the interview. Express your interest towards the job you are interested in and thank them for their time. Even if you end up not being interested in the job anymore, you can never know if that person can’t become a great contact person for you.
Religion / How To Position Yourself For Success by bishoprccg(m): 4:05pm On Jan 09, 2009
The way one positions oneself will go a long way in determining the extent to which one succeeds in life.
If you are doing a business and it seems to be stagnant or dying, then check whether the business is well positioned.
So many companies that had previously folded up, because of financial crisis apply this very secret, and eventually bounce back, with a brand new name, new set of staff and a new vision and location.
Position yourself, your business and everything you do, where you will be easily noticed.
The location of Chevron office in Port Harcourt, Rivers state, instead of Lokoja in Kogi State, is not by error, but a calculated design to position Chevron for profitability.
Big companies and blue chip firms are scrambling for every available space in Abuja, because they want to be well positioned in business.
If you are short, and you decide to move with tall fellows, tell me how you will be noticed?
If your present position is affecting the way things are moving in your life, business or family, then you better reposition yourself.
There is always a particular location in life, where God expects you to be for his blessings to come your way.
Literature / Joy To The World by bishoprccg(m): 2:54pm On Dec 27, 2008
Joy filled the air
Angels sang melodious songs
Heralding the birth of a prince
The prince of peace

Where there was anarchy
His coming brought peace and order
Where there was sorrow
He came to restore Joy
Where there was lack
He came to give us abundance

As if it was not enough
He shed his own precious blood
That we may have life
Abundant life

What a tragedy
That millions still go about
Looking for Joy
In the wrong places
When all they need to do
Is heed his passionate call
Come unto me all ye that labour
And are heavy laden
And I will give you rest.

His coming changed the entire history
Of mankind
And as we celebrate his wonderful birth
May Joy fill every one of our heart
Today and Always.
Jokes Etc / Unto Jesus I Surrender by bishoprccg(m): 2:26pm On Dec 27, 2008
I was attending a Student camp meeting in Benin city some years ago.
The program was wonderful, except for the fact that the food for the Friday lunch was not prepared on time.
Everyone was really hungry, and those officiating were trying their best to keep the program going.
At that moment, the worship session began, and the brother leading the worship song, began to sing: “Unto Jesus I surrender”
I was wondering: ‘ how can I surrender my lunch of yam and beans”
As I sang, I kept on remembering the lunch and the hunger became intense.
I couldn’t bear it any longer, and went outside the auditorium to line up for my plate of yam and beans.
After eating, I became refreshed and the worship songs became meaningful.
Religion / How To Use What You Have To Get What You Want by bishoprccg(m): 7:32pm On Nov 21, 2008
Every individual on planet earth has been blessed with one talent or the other.
Whether you call it talent or gift, they all imply a form of endowment from God.
Some discover their talents or gifts on their own, while others roam aimlessly in life never knowing they carry so much gifts and talents in them.
If there is one individual I love so much that will be Lepacious Bose, the effervescent female stand- up comedian.
She is so big in stature, but yet never tired of churning out jokes about are big stature.
She is unarguably among the top earners as far as the entertainment industry is concerned in Nigeria.
There are other ladies with similar statures, who are roaming the streets in search of jobs.
The secret is to identify what you have, and learn how to use it to get what you want.
A young fellow once approached his pastor to lay his hands and anoint his head.
He felt there was an element of bad luck following him around.
What he thought he needed was some bit of anointing oil on his head, to wipe off all form of bad luck.
The pastor, who knew this young fellow so well, told him point blank: “it is not your head that need to be anointed, but your buttocks”
The reason for this, been that the young man never stays in one place for a minute.
He moved aimlessly and appeared confused of what he wanted in life.
This was someone who was having so much potential inside, and yet never achieving any form of success in life.
It was the pastor’s bitter counsel that jolted him back to life.
He realized he needed to stay focused and use what he had to get what he wanted.
He realized he needed no anointing oil to get what he wanted.
You don’t need to be a Masters degree holder to succeed in life; neither do you need to be connected in high places to get what you want.
What you need to succeed is right inside of you.
All you need to learn is how to use what you have to get what you want.
Ophrah winfrey, one of the most successful black American woman on planet earth has this piece of advice to share with us: “Use what you have to run toward what is best-that’s how I now live my life”
So many individual are on the verge of loosing their mind, because of the load of potentials and knowledge they are carrying about on their brain.
As long as you don’t use what is inside of you, it will keep on building up, and only God knows what can happen when it is filled up.
So many run from one seminar to the other, attending training, workshop, lectures, booth camps and other knowledge based programs.
They come back home with so much knowledge, and never attempt to execute even one single idea!
The end result is frustration and failure.
I feel ashamed when I get to hear news about Nigerians rotting in jails abroad.
The fact that they are in jail is not the issue, but the countries where they are been held captives: India, Pakistan, Libya, Togo, Spain and even Iraq.
Its so sad that they choose to run abroad looking for what they want, when they possess everything to achieve success in life.
Whether you are tall, short, fat, ugly, beautiful, disabled, black, fair, uneducated or poor, you have something on your inside that will catapult you to success.
Age is not a barrier in getting what you want in life.
Dear friends, wake up from your slumber and begin to use that which you have been blessed with to get what you want.
Remember, God will only bless you with more gifts if he finds you using the one you already have
Jobs/Vacancies / Self Confidence by bishoprccg(m): 11:38am On Nov 14, 2008
Self Confidence is a key factor in the success equation.
It is easy to get demoralized, frustrated and resentful if you lack self-confidence.
Marcus Garvey once remarked “if you have no confidence in self, you are twice defeated in the race of life. With confidence, you have succeeded even before you have begun”
Self Confidence is concerned with how a person feel’s about his ability.
A successful entrepreneur always believes in his dreams and abilities.
He is not scared of exploring new opportunities or venturing into unknown frontiers.
Self-confidence must however not be confused with arrogance.
Self-confidence is a skill that comes via training over a period of time.
Success creates self-confidence, which creates more success.
Jobs/Vacancies / Achieve The Extraordinary: Think Possible by bishoprccg(m): 12:18pm On Nov 13, 2008
The above statement is the motto of bank PHB (Platinum Habib Bank plc), Nigeria.
They are not mere words, but thought provoking statements of real winners.
To achieve the extraordinary, implies doing things differently to achieve unique results.
If others are putting in eight hours a day, to achieve success, then put in ten hours a day to achieve extraordinary success.
Never underestimate your capacity to achieve the extraordinary.
All things are possible to those that believe!
If others have done it before, then you can do likewise, and even surpass boundaries and break new frontiers
Think possibility in whatever you do.
Remember, with God all things are possible!
We must be careful not to create self-made barriers on our way to achieving our goals.
You must be careful what you believe about yourself, especially if it is negative and limiting.
The only thing that can hinder you from achieving the extraordinary is yourself.
Research have shown that that any thought, belief, notion, or idea that is believed for long becomes programmed in the mind and ultimately become self-destructive.
So many individuals believe that because of their unfavorable family background, sex, age, inadequate family background, geographical location, etc they cannot succeed.
Truth is, our limitations are not external; our limitations are internal.
Stop creating mental roadblock on your path to achieving the extraordinary.
No one gave the Wright brothers (Orville and Wilbur) any chance of creating an object that could defy the force of gravity and fly.
But they proved everyone wrong by achieving the impossible.
Their record-breaking feat was achieved on December 17, 1903.
They never allowed peoples opinion to sway their self believe.
They thought possibility, and entered the Guinness book of record with their invention.
To achieve the extraordinary, one must think the absurd; to look where everyone else has looked, but to see what no one else has seen.
Barrack Obama, the 44th president of the most powerful nation on earth, was never given
any chance to enter the white house, because many felt he was black.
He brushed those thoughts aside, and achieved the most extraordinary feats in U.S electoral history.
He became the very first black American man, to win a presidential election in the U.S.
Believe in yourself and your abilities, and you will achieve the extraordinary!
And he said during his inaugural acceptance speech: “if anyone still doubt that America is a place where anything is possible, tonight have changed that thought”
Jobs/Vacancies / How To Become A Wealth Creator by bishoprccg(m): 9:57am On Nov 08, 2008
Research carried out more than two years ago in the United States of America, showed that more than one hundred billionaires were been made yearly.
80% of these billionaires were business owners!
The above statistics simply points to one fact: you can never be truly wealthy working for someone else.
The best way to secure your future, is to own a business of your own.
Wealth creation starts from the inside of an individual.
It is a function of the mind.
Whatever you think on your inside will manifest outside.
To be a wealth creator, you must have achievable goals and dream big.
Creating a product or service will enhance your wealth creation profile.
You may want to ask, where do I start?
You must start from with what you have!
Never you despise your gift or talent. “A man’s gift will always make a way for him”
Five ways of getting Wealthy
· Through Inheritance
It is common for individuals to inherit their parent’s wealth, after their demise.
The danger of acquiring this type of wealth however is that such wealth can be spent carelessly, since the individual didn’t labor for it.
· Working for others
One may be lucky to get a job with the federal, state or local government.
It may even be a private establishment.
The above facts do not however count toward your goal in creating wealth, because you only end up enriching those you are working for.
· Stealing or Cheating People
Lot’s of lazy folks follow this ignoble path, and end up becoming wealthy.
The problem though, is that they never get to enjoy such ill gotten wealth.
Any wealth acquired through dubious means only bring sorrow and pain to the individuals who acquired them.
· Invest in Various Business Opportunities
Investment makes money works for you.
Your money multiplies when you invest it.
You must however put into consideration, what the various returns on investment can give you when making your investment decisions.
Before embarking on any business investment, you must consult a professional and update yourself in the area you wish to invest in.
If you don’t have a long-term investment strategy in place, you may fall into the money trap.
What are the various investment opportunities available to the average entrepreneurs?
They are lots of opportunities in the investment world for one to choose from:
¨ Global stock
¨Government bonds
¨Mutual funds
¨Common stocks
¨Treasury bills
¨Oil and Gas
¨Housing and real estate
¨Gold/Silver
Investing in business opportunities is one of the safest ways of creating wealth.
Remember to always monitor your investment.

· Starting Your own profitable business
This is one of the surest ways of creating wealth.
You must however find a business to start, by identifying people’s need.
Do a little research by finding out those who are already selling similar products or offering the kind of service.
Find out why people are buying their product.
Find out how much they are selling.
After finding out the above facts, you then go ahead to source fund for your business.
This can be achieved by
>> Getting loans from friends and relatives
>>Getting loans from banks
>>Personal savings

The issue of the type of business (sole proprietorship, partnersip, limited liability), must have been settled before now.
On a final note, you must seek advice before you register your business.

ROAD SIGN ON YOUR WAY TO CREATE WEALTH
¨ Learn to handle frustration
¨ Be passionate about wealth creation
Passion + Profitability=Wealth
¨ Handle rejection
¨ Be focused and creative
¨ Give more than what you expect to receive
¨ Continually update yourself with current trend

In closing, I would love to share this thought provoking story.
Two friends Visited India on vacation.
While there, they saw lots of people walking on bare feet.
One said to the other, “See the level of poverty!” But the other saw a shoe factory.
He returned home and began designing shoes, and not only established a shoe factory, which made him a multi-millionaire.

Poems For Review / Treasure by bishoprccg(m): 7:07pm On Oct 06, 2008
TREASURE
The Road seemed so dusty, narrow and long
But I wasn’t tired
I was told she had gone
That some narrow road
With a renewed strength
I walked down the road
To see her whom I’ve always desired

My feet was weak
My body was aching
But my heart was strong
My heart had never failed me
Since that Beautiful April
When she told me she loved me
Almost wept when I got home
Cos she really meant it
I saw it in her eyes

It was almost getting dark
And it was also raining
But my body was warm
Warmed by the love burning in my heart
I wasn’t afraid of the darkness
Neither was I discouraged by the rain
My desire was to behold her sweet
And lovely face.

I had come to love the Lord
For bringing me from darkness to light
And when I saw that beautiful light
At the end of the narrow path
My heart was overjoyed
Standing so tall and elegant
Was my dearest treasure

The journey had been so tiring
But fresh strength came
When I looked into her eyes
Eyes that were filled with compassion
Compassion for the one she loved
Who had come all the way
To share with her
The greatest Joy of life

And as I walked back home
My heart was so heavy
Heavy for the one dearest to my heart
It was the most painful experience
I’ve ever encountered
Leaving her behind
But her last words strengthened me
Holding my hands
She had whispered softly to me
Clement, it won’t be for too long

Tears filled my eyes
As I remembered the wonderful moments
What kept me going
Was the hope
I’ll see her again
Never to walk the narrow path alone
Cos she is my TREASURE
It was a promised I vowed to keep

Business / 7 Tips For Home Business Start-up Success by bishoprccg(m): 1:35pm On May 20, 2008
1) Prepare a realistic business plan.
Think of this as your business road map. Define exactly where you want to get to with your business and then you can effectively map out your path towards achieving your goals!
By creating a detailed business plan you should cover all options and eventualities and have a clear future vision that will guide you through the rest of the start-up processes.
2) Your business plan should encompass the financial considerations of starting your small or home based business:-
Do you have the capital required?
Do you need to raise additional funds?
Who are you going to approach for finance?
Who do you trust for advice?
And don’t forget to open a business bank account…
3) Consider the legal implications of becoming a business owner and proprietor.
Are you better off as a sole trader, a limited company or are you considering a partnership?
Make sure you consider all the angles and protect yourself and your assets personally from the outset.
Anything you bring to the business has to be itemised, valued…even if you’re a sole trader.
And make sure you are professionally covered with the appropriate business indemnity insurances.
4) Get your family and friends behind you from the get-go.
Make sure your family and friends are fully understanding and supportive of your ideas to venture into small business start-up.
Do they understand the level of commitment you will have to show for on-going and long term success?
Their belief in you and continued support of you will work wonders towards your on-going success, so don’t forget to look out for them too.
5) Protect your family, protect your business.
If, God forbid, something were to happen to your health, how would your business survive, how would your family cope?
Consider insurances - from health, critical illness and income protection insurance to life insurance - and consider your pension and long term financial security.
6) Face those ‘taxing’ questions from the start.
Your small or home based business has to consider its taxation situation.
Do you need to register your business for sales tax purposes; have you informed your tax office of your business’s inauguration?
Do you have a good tax professional lined up to guide and assist you?
The bottom line when it comes to taxation is that from the outset you need to make sure your papers and books are in order, this will save you time, money and heart ache in the long run.
7) Prepare realistic and achievable goals and targets for your first year.
Do not expect to conquer the world with your first year’s business returns.
Starting a business is a life changing undertaking and one you must be patient with. The rewards are there, but make sure you set yourself achievable targets - when you reach them they will give you the confidence and satisfaction to set new goals and to continue building your business’ success.
From setting up your own business abroad, offshore investment and offshore banking to international living and buying property abroad.
