Religion / Was It Right For Ministers Of God To Pay Secret Visit To Yar Adua? by bishoprccg(m): 10:14am On Apr 12, 2010
The recent visit of Bishop David Oyedepo, Emmanuel Kure and other selected men of God to the ailing president Umaru Musa Yaradua has brought a lot of questions rather than answer.
There are already insinuations in some quarters that the cabals are using the men of God to create confusion in the polity.
The visit was coming at the heels of similar visit by imams.
The secrecy behind the whole visit has further made the whole issue more volatile.

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Ronaldo Vs Messi : And The Winner Is? by bishoprccg(m): 2:41pm On Apr 11, 2010
It was billed to be a match between two of the best players in the world.
The match was called el classico: the local rivalry between Real Madrid and Barcelona had so many history attched to it.
But when the match eventually ended, one man was left standing: All hail King Lionel Messi.
Ronaldo tried, but he couldnt help Real madrid overcome a 2-0 deficit.
If not the brilliance of Iker Cassilas, it would have been a basket full of goal.
The handwritting is on the wall.
I believe Lagerback was watching!

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Merciless Merci by bishoprccg(m): 5:11am On Apr 07, 2010
I said it but Arsenal die hards refused to listen.
Merci would be their nemesis and he proved a handful to handle as he scored a hat trick to confirm his rating as the best player in the world.
now i wonder what the arsenal fans will say about that!
i was not thinking only of the 4 goals he scored.
i was also thinking of nigeria's world cup match with Argentina come june 12 in south africa.
does nigeria have the defence line to hold merci?
its a question begging for answer.
meanwhile, i am tipping barca to make history as the 1st club to win the champions league a second 2nd time back to back.
they are just too good and inter are no match.

As for replacement for these 7 players, there abound countless number waiting to try their luck and grab the opportunity.
If Taye Taiwo had not faltered, there would be no Uwa Ejechile.
For the defence, there is dele adeleye, sam sodje, Michael Chukwuikwe Odibe, nedum onuoha
midfield: obiora nwankwo, rabiu ibrahim, haruna luqman
attack: eneramo michael(he is hot)
These are just few options, like i said there are countless number of players waiting to dorn the green white green jersey

As for papillo,
He is destined to go to SA 2010, because of recent, he has been playing regularly for his club, not 5 min, not 10 min, but 90 whole minutes.
Not many players his age can do that.
He has the spirit of Naija in his heart, and we should pls give him a chance to show the whole world for the very last time what he is made of.
put yourself in his shoes.
Will you be happy to be left out of SA 2010 if you are playing regularly for your team and happen to be the captain of the Super Eagles.
Definitely No.
So pls lets pray for him, that his heart and his legs will synchronize and he will score his first world cup goal at SA.

Sports / Seven Players Who Should Not Be In Nigeria's Squad To S.A by bishoprccg(m): 2:16am On Apr 06, 2010
A critical analysis of Nigeria's performance during the WC Qualifier towards S.A 2010 and ANC Angola 2010 has really exposed so called Super Eagles players as under performers, and definitely not qualified to be called World cup materials.
Coach Lars Lagerback and fellow forumites should please take note!

1. Joseph Yobo( He has not shown enough consistency and is also match rusty, as David Moyes have confined him to the bench.
     Also prone to injury)

2. Obinna Nwaneri(the most inconsistent player at Angola 2010. He does not deserve an invitation to the Eagles camp after
gifting Ghana their 1-0 victory over Nigeria. He is presently rehabilitating at Heartland of owerri)

3. Seyi Olofinjana (He has never proved himself to be a true Super Eagles player with his colorless display. Perhaps age is
catching up with him. He is also prone to injury and easily fades away during matches)

4. Chibuzor Okonkwo( This over-rated Bayelsa United player proved beyond every reasonable doubt that he was not yet ripe for the Super Eagles,
his lethagic display against Congo during the Eagles Team B friendly and against Niger during the 2nd leg encounter at Kano.

5.Yakubu Aiyegbeni( He has nothing to offer the national team, with his sluggish and near miss blunders)

6.Sani Kaita( Lots of folks assume that kaita is filling the quota slot, but he has consistently shown he does not deserve to be at the world cup with
his clumsy tackles and poor marksmanship)

7. Onyekachi Apam( Lets face the fact: Can Apam stop a rampaging Messi or a sleeky giorgio samaras. definitely No. so tell me: Why must lagerback
take him to the WC. A close check at hi french ligue club( Nice) shows he has picked enough red/ yellow card to send a danger signal to any good
    coach to beware.

The country is blessed with good players who can easily fit into the shoes of the above players.
In concluding ill love us to hear what Lars Lagerback said when he traveled to see some of our foreign based players:
"The Swede coach disclosed that he has taken about three weeks since his appointment to travel to Europe and other parts of the world where Nigerian players are plying their skills and have found out that most of the present super Eagles players are not fit to make the national team as they do not only have a starting shirt in their clubs but are not even reckoned with in the teams they claim to be playing for".

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / The Fall And Fall Of English Clubsides In Uefa Champions League by bishoprccg(m): 12:12am On Apr 02, 2010
First it was Liverpool, they were not walking alone, as the dragged Chelsea to the muddy water of clubs who fell by the way sides in UEFA Champions League.
To add salt to injury, Man U were dealt a double blow with Ronnie picking up an injury and Bayern inflicting a nail biting 2-1 on Man U.
As expected, Barca almost crippled Arsenal with their flawless display of soccer artistry, and they have to thank Almunia for keeping the score at 0-0 during half time.
The game eventually ended 2-2 with Fabregas set to miss the rest of the season with a leg injury and Gallas set to miss the return leg in 8 days time.
The summary: English clubs are gradually sliding their quest to win the UEFA Champions league trophy.
Favorite? of course Barcelona
Inter also have an outside chance of pulling one or two surprises, but im tipping Barcelona to lift the trophy.
With Portsmouth going into administration and Sepp Blatter complaining about the huge salary been paid these over rated premiership star, one wonders what the future holds for the game in England.
Before i round up, i wish to prophesy once again, that Barca will totally disgrace Arsenal at Camp Nou.
Its not a theory but fact.
I dare anyone to challenge me on that!

Politics / Grand Plot Against Akunyili by bishoprccg(m): 2:31am On Mar 30, 2010
Professor Dora Akunyili is presently fighting the biggest battle of her life in her bid to return as minister of the federal republic of nigeria.
she ruffled many feathers when she was information minister, that some sworn enemies are plotting to ensure she never returns to the FEC.
Will her strong spirit that saw her through NAFDAC, and her brief period as minister of information, see her through the red sea that is presently brewing?
Will the grand plot by the Cabal and the Northern Caucus of the upper house finally derail her ambition of coming to the FEC for a second time?
only time will tell.
One thing is sure: If you want to be in the good book of the government, you have to be absolutely loyal.
You must also be deaf and dumb.
I feel for Akunyili, because she desires to work, but the forces against her are just too much.
May God help Nigeria!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Romance / Is It Morally Right For An 18 Years Old Boy To Marry A 55 Years Old Lady? by bishoprccg(m): 10:30am On Mar 29, 2010
Wonder they say shall never end.
I read in the punch newspaper about the love story of an 18yrs old boy with a woman who was 55.
They claimed to be in love and consummated
that confession with marital vow according to moslem tradition.
The boys mother strongly opposed the union and took the matter to court, requesting for the dissolution of the marriage.
To make matter worse, the said 55 years old woman is a friend of the boys mother.
Is it morally right for both of them to be married
** Considering their age difference?
** Considering the closeness of the woman to the family of the boy
** Considering the opposition of the boys family to the union.

Is it a case of Romeo and Juliet, or a case of African charm at work?
To me, it is absolutely strange and unheard of!!

Sports / After The Niger crash, Should Home Base Players Be Considered For The World Cup? by bishoprccg(m): 10:17am On Mar 29, 2010
I felt utterly embarrassed that the Home based Eagles could not muster enough courage to cancel a 2-0 scoreline against lowly rated Mena of Niger.
The implication is that Nigeria's flag will be missing in the 2nd edition of the African Nations cup for home based players.
If we are truly honest, it is abnormal to invite players who could not defeat Niger republic to come over to the world cup where they will face Argentina, Greece and South Korea.
There may be one or two exceptionally good players anyway, but do these home based players merit a call up to the camp of the Super Eagles in the first place?
Thank God Lars Lagerback was in Kano, where he watch the fumbling home based Eagles.

Romance / How Long Should Couples Court Before Getting Married? by bishoprccg(m): 3:53pm On Mar 12, 2010
This question became a subject of debate in 2001 when a brother who had dated a sister for 7 years finally called it quit with the relationship.
In essence, the courtship lasted for 7 good years.
The reason behind the dissolution of the courtship, was that they were both not compatible.
The church rose up violently against the decision of the brother for his action.
To make matter worst, the brother after breaking with the first sister, immediately started another relationship with another sister who was a member in the same church.
To add salt to injury, both sisters belonged to the same organization in the church.
The question on everyone lips was: why did they have to endure 7 long years of courtship, only to end up on the opposite sides.
Some school of thought suggest 2 years, others suggest 1 year, while some say 3 years is okay.
Can an individual know is partner fully even if they court for 10 years?
What then is the ideal duration for courtship?
As for me, i courted my present life for about 1.5years.
I definitely know there are advantage and disadvantage for lengthy courtship and also for short courtship.
Some give excuse for courting for so long, like: lack of sufficient fund, No job, need to know each other better,
So my fellow forumites, what is the ideal duration for partners in courtship?

Sports / Tiger Wood: From Grace To Grass by bishoprccg(m): 11:24pm On Feb 18, 2010
The recent travail of golf legend- Tiger Wood as a result of his allege infidelity, has brought so much public outcry and condemnation.
This was a man that had the world at his feet raking in billions of dollars in prize money and enjoying endorsement deals from Nike and other sports wears company worth more than $40 million dollars.
This was a guy who had the world at his feet, but could not keep his appetite for women in checks, even when he was married.
The fall from glory was so rapid, that he had to go underground and to make matters worse; he has reportedly lost more than $5 million dollars in appearance fees and endorsement withdrawals.
As a celebrity, he was constantly under pressure to perform, and he needed focus and discipline to excel.
These issues were properly handled by his late father-Earl Dennison Woods who died on the 3rd of May 2006.
He was more than a father to Tiger Wood.
A role model, motivator and guiding angel was what he meant to the number one golf player in the world.
But then Earl Denilson succumbed to the cold hands of death, and with his death, came the inevitable.
Tiger Wood impregnable world collapsed and the call girls came flooding in.
Tried as much as he did to keep it secret, it still surfaced, and the journey from Grace to Grass began.
Newspaper articles soon carried stories of his numerous flings with call girls.
His escapades would make James bond look so ordinary.
It was a well organized network of deceit, cheat and infidelity that made reporters front page headlines.
There were also newspaper reports, that Tiger Wood’s dad- Earl Dennison was also unfaithful.
It seems the trait ran in the family blood!
His free fall from Grace to Grass is a big lesson for other successful athletes to be wary of been caught in the web of call girls.
Whether Tiger Wood will be able to recover from the disgrace and bounce back to take his place in the hall of fame is still left to be seen.
From a humble beginning, he became a millionaire and soon climbed his way into the billionaire club.
The road to success is very narrow, and those at the top ladder will attest to the fact, that it’s hot up there.
Tiger sort comfort in the arms of strange women and in place of comfort he got an overdose of trouble.

Romance / Is It Okay For A Man To Marry A Woman Older Than Him? by bishoprccg(m): 8:15am On Feb 16, 2010
There is this popular saying that love is blind.
Is it so blind, that a man gets married to a woman older than him?
What age difference is tolerable for a relationship to last longer?
I am asking this question, because there have been cases where older women who got married to men younger than them get over bearing, and the end result is a collapse marriage.
whats your opinion?

Sports / Siasia To The Rescue by bishoprccg(m): 12:21am On Feb 15, 2010
I am not paid to make this passionate appeal to the NFF, neither do i have any personal grudge against Amoudu.
I am just an avid lover of football who desire the best out of the worst situation Nigeria has found herself in her quest for a foreign coach.
Recruiting a foreign coach to me may not be the solution to our problem.
The solution to every man's problem lies inside the man.
You don't need to run abroad to solve a problem which you can easily solve yourself.
The solution to our present predicament can be solved by Coach Samsom Siasia.
I have carefully followed his short coaching career and its my honest and sincere submission that he be recruited to help build not only a team for the world cup come 2010, but a team for the future.
He knows all the players by names, and he has been to the highest level of football- the world cup.
He possess the charisma and the technical know how to fit into the shoe vacated by coach shauibu amoudu.
Lets put aside politics and sentiment by quickly contacting Samson Siasia.
It will not only by cost effective, but it will help strenghten the confidence of the Super Eagles who will be glad to see their own lead them to the world cup.
Please dear forumites, what do you think?

Politics / The Amnesty Program Has Failed by bishoprccg(m): 12:11am On Feb 15, 2010
When last year president Umaru Musa Yar Adua announced an Amnesty package for repentant Militants, it was with gladness that Nigerians and all peace loving people of the Niger Delta region welcomed the pronouncement.
No sooner was the announcement made, then things went haywire, and from all indication, the amnesty program has totally failed to deliver on its promises of developing the Niger Delta region and rehabilitation repentant militants.
The dire implication of Government insensitivity to the plight of the region, may result in a huge outcry if not properly checked.
Another implication of allowing the Amnesty program to fail, is that the repentant militant may out of frustration and anger go back to the creek and their action could better be imagined.
It is time for action and not rethorics, as the impoverished people of Niger Delta are sick of hearing grammar and no action.
President Goodluck Jonathan should please revive the amnesty program and help nip the brewing agitation in the bud.
The entire world is watching!

Sports / Four Reasons Why Amoudu Must Be Sacked Now! by bishoprccg(m): 5:14am On Jan 20, 2010
A man of honour knows when to call it quit.
Unfortunately Amoudu Shauibu lacks honour and dignity.
One of the reason why he must resign, is that he lacks the support of the players
Secondly, he is technically deficient.
Thirdly, he lacks the charisma of a championship winning coach.
Again, he has a very high ego. he just don't love taking advice from people who are better than him, as it happened in 2002 Nations cup.
Finally, Amoudu lacks the ability to discover new talents.
All the players he presently parades were products of Samson Siasia, Adegboye Onigbinde, Augustine Eguaveon and a host of other indigenous coaches.
The NFF should please stop him from embarrassing the country further.
The World Cup is just few months away, and the right time to sack Amoudu is now!!
Sports / What Is Happening To Nigeria's Football? by bishoprccg(m): 6:06pm On Sep 28, 2009
Just finished watching our beloved flying eagles been hammered 2-0 by Spain, and was so angry and confused.
First it was our fumbling Super Eagles, who caused heart ache in the heart of millions of Nigerians, with their lethargic display against Tunisia, thus putting our World cup qualification in Jeopardy.
Next it was the turn of Samson Siasia led Flying Eagles who were humbled by lowly rated Venezuela 1-0, before falling to Spain 2-0
And just last week news filtered in the Best Ogedengbe is in a state of Coma, after undergoing an eye operation at the Teaching Hospital Ibadan.
It has been one woe to another, and it seem as the Nation celebrate her 49th Independence, there is nothing much to celebrate.
What is really the problem?
Is the Nations football cursed?
Is it that the players been used are not good enough?
Is it bad luck?
Is it the problem of NFF or the Sports ministry.
My dear forumites, im a passionate lover of football, but Nigeria football is breaking my heart.
I don't want to die prematurely, hence i need answers to the above, before i have a change of heart.
Sports / Breaking The Tunisian Jinx by bishoprccg(m): 4:18pm On Sep 05, 2009
It will be exactly Thirty One years since Godwin Odiye’s unfortunate own goal denied Nigeria the opportunity of featuring at the 1978 World Cup.
The same Tunisians proved a stumbling block in the way of the Super Eagles during the Mexico 86 World Cup qualifiers.
As the countdown to the big clash of the Eagles draws near, it is my prayer that the Eagles of Carthage will not impede the flight of the Super Eagles.
The right players with the right mental attitude should be fielded if the necessary result is to be achieved.
Coach Amoudu Shauibu should please forget about big names and go for players who are 100% fit and success hungry. Bench warmers and opportunist should not be fielded at all.
Anything outside an outright victory against the Tunisians will spell doom for the nation’s football, so Nigerians should please pray fervently for the success of the team.
