As for number, Igbos had outnumbered Ibanis in Bonny since over 200yrs ago. This is because both Ndoki Igbos and other Igbos both slaves and free where in Bonny for a long time trading consumables that Bonny couldn't produce. This was even before palm oil trade started. Mind you that Ndokis never saw themselves as Igbos at that time nor did the Ibanis see themselves as Ijaws. It was just independent groups coming together to conduct business and relate together.
