AUGUST 19, 2011 EL PASO, TX
Nigerian national arrested for allegedly coercing underage girl
Engineering student charged with enticing undercover HSI agent posing as 16-year-old girl

EL PASO, Texas — A Nigerian national was arrested Aug. 16 after he arrived at a local residence to have sex with a person he believed to be a 16-year-old girl. Instead, he was met by a special agent with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI).
Obinna Vincent Uzoh, 31, is charged with coercing and enticing a child. According to court documents, he approached a teenage girl in July, asked for her phone number and requested they meet even though he knew she was 16 years old. He gave the teen his phone number and asked that she text him.
Uzoh contacted the girl through a social network site earlier this month, unaware her identity had been assumed by an ICE HSI undercover agent. The agent and Uzoh communicated several times on the networking site and via text messages for a few days. Uzoh repeatedly asked if he could visit the teen at her house when she was alone, and described certain sexual acts he wanted to perform.
On Aug. 16, the undercover agent, posing as the teen, gave Uzoh an address. A short time later, Uzoh walked to the front door and knocked. Agents opened the door, and took him into custody.
"Child predators are a parent's worst nightmare," said Manuel Oyola-Torres, special agent in charge of ICE HSI in El Paso. "Individuals who prey on children should know by now, that ICE HSI will pursue them, and put them behind bars for a long time."
Uzoh reportedly is a petroleum engineer who claimed to attend the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology, in Socorro, N.M. He had his first court appearance Aug. 17 and remains in federal custody without bond. His preliminary and detention hearing is set for Aug. 22 in federal court. If convicted, Uzoh faces a maximum sentence of 30 years in federal prison.
The Texas Department of Public Safety assisted with the arrest.
This investigation was part of Operation Predator, an ICE initiative to protect children from sexual predators, including those who travel overseas for sex with minors, Internet child pornographers, criminal alien sex offenders, and child sex traffickers. ICE encourages the public to report suspected child predators by calling at 1-866-DHS-2-ICE. For more information, visit www.ice.gov.

ghostofsparta:
There was never a Nigerian Civil War, it was a genocidal war perfectly masterminded by some group against another group, create another thread and let's argue this out intelligently. Nigeria can be amicably be divided without any qualms, after all it was an amalgamation of incompatible tribes/ethnicities, a 1914 experiment conducted by the great British colonial masters that has not only failed but is also boomeranging on them in a particular way. Kudos! to them anyway. I pray war doesn't erupt again, because it might be worse than the combination of Sudan, Congo and Somalia crises and of which may affect the whole globe, how? I don't know. I admire Nigeria's resilience up to this extent, however its usually been cemented by the blood of mostly you the southerners, especially the Yorubas.
Im*becile, who said I wanted to argue? Are you Ok? I made a statement, a neutral one, and you commented on it. I did not initiate discussion. So, whats the "lets argue" bit about?!

And, what in my post would "betray the fact" that I'm a Nigerian "Southerner"?!?!

P.S:Clearly, the name you posted under is an alias and you definitely been on here before but are just trying to disguise your true self. Insecurity and these fuxcking Ibos. . . . . smh
PoliticsRe: Corrupt Nigerians Should Be Killed - Chief Justice by bkbabe97y(m): 6:16pm On Sep 24, 2011
EagleNest:
I like his proposal. Whether it is in his domain as Chief Justice to say it or not is irrelevant. Drastic situation requires drastic action. Nigeria is almost reaching a boiling point. Let's try it first and see if it will not help us as it is being done in China. In future, when we get back to our senses again such that police will arrest you for offering bribe to him, then we can soft pedal and go for life sentences, etc
Finito!
CrimeRe: Youtube Burning Video In Lagos/ ABSU Gang Ra pe. No Investigation No Arrest? by bkbabe97y(m): 3:26am On Sep 24, 2011
This is a very shameful event. So sad. I hope the sane ones amongst you remember though that WHEN fighting eventually breaks out in Round 2 of the Nigerian Civil War, these rapists are gonna be among the gun-weilding rebels you'll regularly see on tv committing all sorts of atrocities.

Just food for thought for those of you determined to put a tribal spin on everything (and defend evil) just because Satan speaks your language.

Peace.
BusinessRe: World Bank To Assist Fg On Job Creation - Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala by bkbabe97y(m): 8:57pm On Sep 23, 2011
yelanst:
I thought this woman has something to offer Nigerians. Her algorithm to job creation is very  lame and totally ridiculous. How will you be tackling unemployment problem without first ascertaining the number of unemployed people in the country. As is stands now, our government doesn't even know the actual population of Nigeria let alone the number of unemployed persons. So how can you be talking about job creation in this situation. First, we need a comprehensive national database that will capture every citizen in the country and several other information as it relate to the citizens and the country such as -immigrants, students, nationals, non-nationals, unemployed, employed and the sector were the work, the wage earned by the employed(cos most of the acclaimed employed persons are underemployed), number of dependents, health record, criminal record, number of people enrolled each yr in our school system, expected year of graduation( so that the govt can plan to create job for them  in advance), birth rate and death rate etc. In the absence of actual and realistic figures for these variables, any plan- be it crime control, job creation, vision 2020,etc embarked upon by our govt will just amount to an absolute mirage. God bless Nigeria.
