Jeremiah 8:8 says: “How can you say, ‘We are wise, and the law of the Lord is with us,’ when the scribes have changed it into a lie?”

This means the Torah had been changed by humans.

The Quran also says that earlier scriptures, like the Torah and Gospel, were changed or misused by people.

Surah Al-Baqarah 2:75 says: “Some of them hear Allah’s words and then change them on purpose after they understand them.”

This is similar to what Jeremiah warned about.

Surah Al-Ma’idah 5:13 says: “Because they broke their promise, We made their hearts hard, and they change the words from their proper meaning and forget part of what they were told.”

This shows that people altered God’s message, like the “false pen” in Jeremiah.

Surah Al-Baqarah 2:79 says: “Woe to those who write the scripture with their own hands and say, ‘This is from God,’ to make money. Woe to them for what they wrote and what they earned.”

The Quran blames scribes who changed God’s words for their own benefit.

Islam calls this kind of change tahreef, meaning distortion or alteration of the text.

This is the same idea as Jeremiah 8:8, where the scribes made God’s word false.

The Quran teaches that the Torah and Gospel originally came from God, but humans added, removed, or changed parts.

The Quran also says it is the final, protected book.

Surah Al-Hijr 15:9 says: “We have sent down the Quran, and We will protect it.”
