With all due respect, you want them to shoot our troops in the confusion that arises with combatant situations? they have to get so close to the enemy before they can see them in day time to engage so common...ya'll want that? **Forgive my prejudices please, its just on a lighter note** |
As long as the power is steady and constant, there is no problem cos the bill cannot be more than the money spent on fueling generators. It is when the bill is not commensurate with the electricity that wahala will burst! End of Discussion! |
In 2010, Nigerian security officials intercepted an Iranian arms shipment containing 13 containers of weapons, including artillery rockets and rifle rounds. An investigation found that the shipment had originally come from the Iranian port of Bandar Abbas. Those arrested in connection with the incident included an alleged Iranian Revolutionary Guards member and three Nigerian suspects. And in 2004, an Iranian diplomat was arrested on suspicion of carrying out espionage against the Israeli Embassy in Abuja. http://www.jpost.com/Defense/Article.aspx?id=304123 |

A kidnap kingpin who had been in Police net in Bayelsa State, Digiteme Itua (Alias Seko), who allegedly spareheaded the abduction of six employees of Hyundai Heavy Industries in Okpoama Island, including four Koreans and two Nigerians in December, has escaped. The Bayelsa State Commissioner of Police, Kingsley Omire, who disclosed this to journalists in Yenagoa during a briefing, also revealed that Hyundai Heavy Industries secretly paid a ransom of N30 million to the kidnappers without the knowledge of the command. According to the police Commissioner, suspects linked with the abduction of the construction workers on December 17, 2012 were Romeo Egbo, Goodnews Amabebe, Dito Ologbo and Digiteme Itua. The police chief said the command still had in its custody another kidnap kingpin, Simeon Lalapu, whose gang abducted the paramount ruler of Okordia clan inYenagoa Local Government of the state, King Seiba, on August 25. He further noted that following the confession of Itua, who claimed that he had four AK47 and several rounds of ammunition in Ogboinbiri community in Southern Ijaw Local Government, security operatives left with him and Egbo for Ogboinbiri for the recovery of the arms. However, Itua and Egbo escaped into the swamp on the way to recovering the arms and ammunition as a gang of armed men, suspected to be comrades of the kidnappers opened fire on the security operatives escorting the suspected kidnappers. http://www.informationng.com/2013/01/kidnap-kingpin-escape-from-police-net-in-bayelsa.html?utm_source=&utm_medium=twitter

If you’re thinking of asking your girlfriend to become your wife, deciding if you’re ready to make the commitment to marriage is only half the battle. You have to be absolutely sure that the woman in your life is someone you’ll be happy spending time with day in and day out. Love alone is not enough to make a marriage work, and certain characteristics are warning signs for a troubled marriage down the road. Here are some of the most obvious signs that your girlfriend is not marriage material. 1. She cuts you off from loved ones A girlfriend who always becomes sick when it’s time to spend quality time with your family and even forbids you from hanging out with your friends will only act worse after you say your vows. 2. She bails on you when times get tough Life isn’t always a bowl of cherries, but that doesn’t mean that the woman in your life should just disappear when the times get tough. If your girlfriend is not supportive of you emotionally through difficult times and only stands by you when things are going good, she’s not the one you should be walking down the aisle with. 3. She displays psychotic behaviors A woman who breeds chaos, misunderstanding and insanity might not be the best person to swear your undying loyalty to. If she displays severe psychological problems now, imagine what kind of influence her crazy and irrational behaviors will have on your future. Marrying a woman like this will most likely ruin your life and your perception of women forever. 4. She’s too clingy If your girlfriend can’t go anywhere or do anything without you, calls you twenty times a day and destroys any chance of you missing her because because the two of you are never apart, she’s going to make a bad wife. 5. She has nothing going on for herself You should want to marry a woman who has goals and brings something better to your life, not one who is up to her neck in debt, has no income, displays unpredictable behaviors and has tried numerous, short-lived career paths yet never knows what she wants in life. This type of fickle lifestyle could derail your own life plan as well. 6. She’s controlling If your girlfriend controls all of your conversations, constantly forces you into agreeing with her and acts as an overbearing, emotional bully, it’ll only get worse after you say “I do.” 7. She’s already cheated on you Do you honestly believe that a woman is marriage material if she has been unfaithful to you while you were dating? Yes, a person can always change and learn from their mistakes; however, a cheating girlfriend will more than likely continue to be unfaithful after marriage. 8. Her libido doesn’t match yours Another sign that she’ll make a bad wife is if her libido differs wildly from yours. The way you relate to each other in the bedroom has a big influence on whether the two of you will stay together after wedding vows are exchanged, so it’s best to work this out before you walk down the aisle. 9. She’s extremely jealous Although a little bit of jealousy is essential for a healthy relationship, extreme jealousy arises in a relationship because of high levels of insecurity. If your girlfriend is jealous of every girl who comes near you, refuses to accept that you have female friends and feels threatened when you discuss your previous relationships, putting a ring on her finger is not going to make her more secure. 10. She can’t admit when she’s wrong If she always seems to have the upper hand in arguments, refuses to admit her faults or even treat you as an equal, she’s not the marrying kind. http://www.ynaija.com/guys-be-warned-top-10-signs-shell-make-a-bad-wife/ |

ABUJA — The Nigeria Bar Association, NBA, yesterday, directed the Attorney General of the Federation, Mr Mohammed Adoke, SAN, to compile names of all persons in detention on terror related activities, insisting that such detainees should be accorded their rights. Speaking at an event in Abuja, yesterday, to mark the International Human Rights Day, the legal body, through its National President, Chief Okey Wali, SAN, said: “Our country must at all times be a country founded on the rule of law and due process. We, therefore, urge all security agencies holding persons in their custody to transfer such suspects to the Nigeria Police Force for prosecution. “We believe that it is lame excuse to pretend that these categories of persons are being detained in anticipation of an amendment to the Terrorism Act. Such an amendment, if passed, can never take a retrospective effect. We, therefore, believe that a more creative approach should be adopted in dealing with some of these complicated issues.” Contending that “no provision of the law or the Constitution gives the State Security Service, the military or the police the right to detain suspects ad infinitum,” the NBA said: “Nothing, therefore, justifies the detention of insurgents by agencies not empowered to detain them. “Nothing justifies the refusal of the said agencies to hand over the insurgents to the Nigeria Police Force. And nothing justifies the NPF in joining other security agencies in detaining insurgents without trial. Nothing justifies the holding of persons suspected of having committed a criminal offence without trial. “After all, section 36 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria provides that every person who is charged with a criminal offence shall be presumed to be innocent until he is proved guilty. “We also want to reiterate thatNigeriahas an obligation to investigate allegations of extrajudicial executions by security agencies. There is nothing shameful about acknowledging mistakes and indiscretions and pledging to make amends. Denying cases of extra-judicial executions and unlawful detentions in the face of overwhelming evidence can only diminish our prestige and respect in the comity of nations. “There is no doubt that extra-judicial execution by the Nigeria Police amounts to a disregard of the duty to organise the apparatus of the state in such a manner as to guarantee the rights recognised in the African Charter. “It is also our view that by carrying out or tolerating actions directed toward effecting extra-legal executions, by not investigating them adequately or diligently, and by not punishing those responsible, the state violates the duty to respect the rights recognised in the African Charter and to ensure their free and full exercise, by the alleged victim and by his next of kin, and for society as a whole to know what happened. “We, therefore, call on the Federal Government to investigate all the allegations of extra-judicial executions and torture levelled against the various branches of the security agencies. Impunity will persist so long as cases of this nature are not investigated and the perpetrators brought to justice. Meanwhile, describing the issue of awaiting trial inmates and prison congestion as a sore point in the criminal justice system in the country, NBA, advised Magistrates and Judges of the lower courts to be more reasonable and rational in imposing bail conditions, noting that “some bail conditions are so stringent and are imposed in order not to be met.” Five of seven suspected terrorists arrested by JTF in connection with attack on Eyn Church in Biu, paraded in Maiduguri, Borno on Thursday (21/6/12). South Africa President Jacob Zuma visited Mandela on Sunday morning at the hospital in Pretoria and found the frail 94-year-old to be “comfortable and in good care,” presidential spokesman Mac Maharaj said in a statement. Maharaj offered no other details about Mandela, nor what medical tests he had undergone since entering the hospital Saturday. The continued uncertainty about Mandela’s health saw worshipers gather on Sunday morning at the Regina Mundi Catholic church in the Soweto area of Johannesburg to pray for the leader. The church was a center of anti-apartheid protests and funerals, Reuters reports. “Yes, it really worries us because he is a great person,” church goer Shainet Mnkomo said as she left an early morning service. “He did so many things to the country, he’s one of those persons who we remember most.” Mandela, who spent 27 years in prison for fighting racist white rule, became South Africa’s first black president in 1994 and served one five-year term. He later retired from public life to live in his remote village of Qunu, in the Eastern Cape area, and last made a public appearance when his country hosted the 2010 World Cup soccer tournament. http://www.punchng.com/news/africa/zuma-visits-mandela-in-hospital/ |

odum desmond: If you are intelligent enough, you would discover that that purported letter could not have emanated from a man in solitary confinement that claims he has been confined to darkness and no form of contact to the world outside his prison cell. How did he know what transpires outside, how come he was even quoting people verbatim? Did you not notice he was distorting facts?did you also notice has was stating events a man in solitary confinements couldn't ve been aware of, giving accurate names, time, date and events. Who told him Dasuki is now NSA? Did he attend same secondary school with Cardinal John Onayikan? Where? I know whereas Onayikan schooled at Kabba in Kogi state, Charles and Henry his brother couldn't have also schooled there, between him and Henry who is older? The letter claims Henry is his younger brother, but we all know that is white lie. Its only a low brain that will accept that crap of a letter hook line n sinker! We want more analytical peeps like u on NL and in Naija...cos only illiterates are influenced by emotional write-ups like dis. The truly educated piece up real facts and make credible deductions based on common sense. |
