GamingSega Is Back! Smaller And Amazingly Better! | Sega Genesis Mini by BlackPenNG(op): 6:56pm On Sep 12, 2019
It seems like a dream to have Sega back, the very console game I had back in the day. Over the years, I haven’t had console games (gaming on the system was enough for me), however, I’m considering getting this Sega Console. One thing to take from the new Sega Console is that it is way smaller than the old console you can remember. Say hello to the all-smaller Sega Genesis Mini. Overall assessment from here, Sega Genesis Mini is an all-round success. Take me back to the beautiful stress-less days of the Sega Genesis.

If you are a real gamer, a Sega fan, or someone who just wants to pass time, this is the game for you. Let’s dive deeper into the review.

On this console, you find the on/off toggle. In fact, with this console, you can get gaming right about the moment you get it out of the box. On the console, there is also the white rest button, the non-operable volume slider, the small cartridge slot (with a spring cover), as well as an expansion port. The expansion port is where the Sega CD and the 32X add-ons will go.

Connecting the Sega Genesis Mini is very easy, just bring out the HDMI cord, and connect the console to the TV. Power is generated from its USB adapter. This is simply a plug and play console. Amazing.

In the box, there are two controllers with three buttons. The cord of the controllers is six feet long, so there is no need for you to worry about an extender. The new controllers are not very different from what you get with the old console though (don’t expect a controller like that of PS or Xbox).

The pad is an 8-directional pad, and it is very good. For real. It would have been better if we got pads like that of the PlayStation, but these are also good enough for the games offered on the Sega console.

When it comes to the type of games offered, you can trust the quality and quantity. There are 42 games in the lineup, of which 40 are Sega classics (Of better quality, of course), while the other two are Genesis-bound “Tetris” and “Darius” an arcade game.

Yes, not all the games there on will catch your fancy, but you can be sure to have fun with these; Castlevania: Bloodlines, Wonder Boy in the Monster World, Streets of Rage 2, Contra; Hard Corps (I loved this), Gunstar Heroes and Mega Man: The Wily Wars.

The Sega Genesis Mini is just so convenient to use, and before you know it, hours will be gone. You can also set the screen size to be either wide screen or 4:3. If you are playing at 4:3, you can also choose the background you want.

There is just one thing to note though, the games on Sega Genesis Mini cannot be rewound. Unlike what you will find in different emulations of today.

Yes, when it comes to buying, you can buy on Amazon for just $79.99. Even if you are not going to use it for yourself, it would be an awesome gift for that little sibling of yours that has been up your neck for the next Christmas’ gift. Trust me though, if you are a retro fan, you wouldn’t regret gaming with this. Have fun.

Get ready, Sega Genesis Mini will be launched on the 19th of September, 2019.

The ending of the year is always dope, Apple launched iPhones, Sega is back, we await Google Pixel 4, and lots more we don’t know yet.

See all images here.

TV/MoviesInstagram Now Allows You To Post Long Videos On Channels, Like Youtube. Read Mor by BlackPenNG(op): 8:34pm On Jun 20, 2018
When a company is related to Mark Zuckerburg, should be careful, he is silently haunting competitions, and the greatest competition to Instagram right now is YouTube.

The reason is simple, YouTube allows you to post long videos, while Instagram limits you to only 1 minute. You only get to post long videos on IG, when you are going live. And that has limitations I would rather not talk about in this post.

So, I said IG is competing with YouTube as it will now allow you to post long videos, right?

This is how, the new feature called IGTV, when launched will enable creators to create custom channels, where they can reach and engage to their followers. When creators posts long, well produced videos on the channel, followers of such channels are notified, they see it, and are abke to interact with the creator via comments.

Cool right? So all instagram celebrities will now have a reason to stay more on IG, rather than YouTube. IG is going for this style in that a recent srudy of US teens now use YouTube the more, making it the most popular social media, worldwide, though IG is also popular.

But, once IGTV is launched, we will only have to see the table that might probably turn in favour of IG. This is due to the flexibility and the "following" method of IG.

IGTV will stand as a stand alone app on bothe android and IOS, and it will also be incorporated into the main Instagram app, so yiy don't have to stress over posting videos.

According to the CEO of IG, Kevin Systrom, IGTV will display vertical full screen videos (Like Snapchat), unlike YouTube that isn't configured as such.

As of now, the app will not feature ads, but the CEO is really optimistic about the app featyring ads, and this way, creators are able to make money via the videos they make.

Cool right? So have you been having issues building your YouTube subscribers? IGTV got your back.

CelebritiesThis #finefemalesinmilitary Is One Twitter Hashtag You Should Check Out Today by BlackPenNG(op): 8:51am On Apr 07, 2018
Have you ever been thinking that military personnels will likely be ugly like OBJ? Or that the females would look exactly like the males, I tell you, squeeze that thought outta your mind, and find a wide dustbin. It's a lie (partly true though).

Jokes apart, some military ladies can be cool. In fact, they are cool. Probably the Military ladies are vexed that they are mostly imagined to be ugly and look like men with chests and six packs, so, they took to Twitter to showcase themselves in their various uniforms and how they slay in them.

Scared of dating a Military lady? Don't be, there are slay queens in the military too, lol. Only God knows why they are in the military. I'm sure that once the enemies see them, they will be distracted and lose focus.

When we see beauty, let's simply say "beautiful", check out these ladies in uniforms. Mostly in the American Airforce, but we did have a Nigerian flag bearer.

CrimeThis Greatest Scam In World History By A Nigerian Is Simply Astonishing by BlackPenNG(op): 2:02am On Apr 04, 2018
Ok, now seriously scamming is bad, and that's one image Nigerians are being painted as, to the foreigners. To them, an average Nigerian trying to do business on the internet is a scammer. Little wonder why fiverr hates Nigeria.

But this feat (I choose to call it feat, lol) was achieved after Nigerians have really scammed a lot of people, you know what I mean, right? In the midst of the economic backslide the country has suffered sequel to independence, Nigerians have really vented frustration on whites, moving from Yahoo to Yahoo+. All is well.

Well, I was scrolling Twitter as usual, and this Tweet by Nigerian Archive (not sure if its a certified account though), caught my attention.

It Tweeted about the greatest scam in world history, involving a Nigerian selling a fake airport to an International bank. The reason I'm sharing it though is cos it's Hilarious. How come someone scammed a foreign bank, $242million? Emmanuel was his name, and only God knows what happened after. Lol

See: http://www.blackpenng.com/2018/04/this-greatest-scam-in-world-history-by.html

There are flip sides to the story,
1. Why would a bank wanna buy an airport from an individual (he could pose as an FG rep though)
2. Why would a bank wanna own an airport (probably to ship dollars?)

There are numerous other questions that should arise, and you are free to ask yours in the comment box below.
But this Tweet was just too hilarious for me not to share, even though I couldn't confirm its validity.
PhonesHey Lagosians, Have You Been Enjoying This Free Wi-fi Network That Launched This by BlackPenNG(op): 11:07am On Mar 29, 2018
Red Cheetah, a free Wi-Fi network from the Stable of SWIFT Networks was launch earlier in March, 2018, in a bid to provide Lagosians with broadband network, which will later extend to the rest of Nigeria and the world at large.

According to the founder of SWIFT, the hotspots number to about 10,000 which will be distributed to strategic locations in Lagos, including Bus stops, Malls, Cafes, etc.

Red Cheetar works by creating a unique and secure Virtual Private Network (VPN) for each registered device on the app. That means, to access the network, you have to be a 'proud' owner of the app.

The network, as said by the owner of SWIFT NETWORKS, Charlse Anudu, is meant to provide the best of lush internet lifestyle for Nigerians in the digital World.

All you need do is download the app and register, while the platform, sponsored by local advertisers, connects you ASAP to the internet (I need to get to Lag).

The network has since the beginning of the month gone live in Lagos, some specific areas though (for now). But, Mr Charlse promised that the expansion will keep going until the 10,000 mark is reached, covering many restaurants, buses, malls etc.

Go to Google Play Store and search for "Red Cheetah", that's all you need to do to enjoy the service (If you are in Lag). I tried to download it, but the reviews caught my attention. According to the reviews, more work still needs to be done on the network. Complains about not able to register, not connecting to the network, amongst other issues.

If these reviews are worked upon, it could lead to a major revolution in the Nigeria Digital World. Let's hope this project doesn't die off, in a Lagos that is being shut down simply because the President wants to commission a bus stop/terminal. Pathetic

PhonesWith True Caller, Is Our Privacy Really Secure? by BlackPenNG(op): 8:21pm On Mar 26, 2018
In the wake of spam calls and other vices that Nigerians face via telephone calls, and the most annoying ones of airtel or any other of the network providers, forwarding bot calls to customers, Nigerians have found the need to identify the number calling before they pick up. it has either sides though, but, most of the time, it had really served its function of identifying spammy calls.

How does True Caller work?

I will write a quick run of how True caller really works, if you are one of Nigerians that don’t really know how this app works and have not bothered to ask google.

True caller just like any other app has a backend server, where it stores all info the app gets from users. Have you ever wondered why it needs data connection to function, this is cos, every time you use the True caller search, it connects with its back-end server, and gets a corresponding reply to its query?

Once you are using the true caller app, it asks for access to your phonebook, right? Hurray, all your phone data is being uploaded to the app’s server, which reviewers have termed secure. Fine. Let’s go on

So, as much people that uses the true caller app, all the phone book data ends up in the true caller’s server where they are arranged according to the server’s algorithm. With this, the server has a wealth of data stored in it, all over the world. So, I think you now understand that for every true caller user, their data is being uploaded to a server. Good.
Now, if someone calls you(A), and no name is reflecting on your phone, cos you did not save the person’s phone number, then use the true caller search. Once the person’s(B) number is saved on another person’s phone(C), who uses a true caller app, the name that person(C) saves the number(B) with, will reflect on your(A) phone. lo! And behold, you know who is calling you.

Cool app, but there is a con to it. Identity is relative, and what it means is this, to some people, I am Black Pen, and they probably saved my number with that, to others, it is Oludamola. Let me give you a quick example, I called a friend and my name reflected as Snr(Senior) Damola. This is so cos, there was only one person I gave that number, prior to that time, my junior in secondary school (Cos it wasn’t my hotline), so that’s what she saved it with, and obviously, she uses true caller, so my name is in true caller’s server as Snr Damola.(Finally, I’m popular)
But, the main reason why I decided on writing on this stuff you would probably have checked on google if you ever got curious is, “Are we really safe?”

I don’t know if you are aware of the scandal with Facebook, where details of 50million Americans was used to manipulate the election that got Trump into power, in favour of Trump. If Facebook could have such a massive data breach, which other app would not.

Remember, there are numerous apps on our mobile that we grant various accesses to our data saved on our phone. Social media apps, utility apps etc. my big question is, are we really safe in the midst of all this. It would be surprising but it’s true that with this chunk of info we give to these apps, we are really an open book.

Don’t be surprised to know that many app companies know a lot about you, and with the use of Artificial intelligence, they will tell you thing you don’t even know about yourself, even a crush you don’t know about.

What do we do?

Now that our lives are an open book, what do we do? Well, if you have been following me all along hoping that I would provide a solution to your privacy, I’m sorry to disappoint you, cos there is really no tech way to do that, to use their apps, you have to grant access. But, here are some bulletpoints;

Be careful of the apps you download; The Facebook scandal I mentioned, the company involved only used info gotten by an app that used Facebook account as a log in means. 270,000 people downloaded the app in the US, but with the access to people’s account, they were able to access details of their friends and all, amounting to 50 million persons, and poof! Data was stolen.

Try not to log in with Facebook or google; this might sound difficult, but if you care about privacy, go through the pain of creating passwords and details for each apps you use. That will make you more private.

Never let go of hope; Yes, in this you are not alone, let’s just keep praying/hoping that the big digital tech companies that already have our information in the palm of their hands continue to keep it safe and not do anything dubious with it.

I know you might be a tech geek, enthusiast or learner, if you have an idea of how we could keep our privacy better from this apps and software, kindly use the comment box below and share it. or questions you might want to ask, as you see, I reckon that I’m an open book, so use the comment box too.

It’s the world we are now, digitals. Privacy is only to an extent, to stay connected with the rest of the world, you have to part with something, and that is your information. But don’t be scared, the email you drop on this blog for subscription doesn’t have access to your details, so, subscribe to get more updates from us

Here, I rest my pen.

Twitter is one of the social media platforms that has come to stay in the world, and from the looks of it now, it will probably stay for a bit longer, owning to the uniqueness of its content. Twitter users update their timeline in what is called Tweets.

Prior to late last year, a Tweet can only contain a maximum of 140 characters. Why? You would ask. Even I don’t know as of now, but that benchmark did spur creativity in we Twitter users.

Probably because of Donald Trump that needs to always split the words of his mouth into two or more tweets, the characters were increased to 280 characters.

On twitter, you could retweet another person’s tweet, to show it to your followers. But, truth be told, as a newbie to Twitter, you can be frustrated and appear lost. The reason ain’t far-fetched, what goes on via Twitter isn’t the norm of the likes of Facebook. You are not alone, same happened to me. In fact, I think the list I’m going to make here happened to me twice. You might have been considering switching to another social media now that Facebook might pack up, if everyone #deletefacebook, I tell you, Twitter is a right choice.

But before you go on, Know that this list is not a “how to build Twitter account”, I just want you to prepare your mind to what will happen to you if you intend joining the 13% of Nigerian Internet users that use Twitter.

1. You will sign up.

Just like joining any other platform, you will most likely register an account, which you can do via Facebook. Setting up a Twitter account is as easy as opening your door. You can try it now.

2. You will be lost.

This is the most interesting part, being completely different from your crush Mark-owned social media which includes Whatsapp, Facebook, and Instagram. All these have an easy-to-master technique, but Twitter?! You have to understand it. It’s no hard anyways, but it will be boring if you are the one that online loves being connected with friends you know and seeing pictures. Twitter is basically for those ready to meet anyone and read words. This will frustrate you, and you leave.

3. You come back.

This is funny, but suddenly, one day you will just remember you had opened a Twitter account. This effect might pop up in you when you frequent statuses where friends post savage comments they found online, and other kinda memes. In case you don’t know, majority of the memes and savage replies you see people post on status all come from Twitter. It’s the meme’s platform. The 280 characters is really helping people’s intellectuals, in that you are able to express a whole story in the shortest possible words.

4. You grab what they do.

Once this part is concluded, Twitter becomes fun, and you will now start thinking of building a following. (A quick tip; if your time line and bio is boring and not creative, you might wait till Jesus comes before you get a handful of followers).
Your Twitter journey now begins, you start laughing out loud while still checking up on your other social media baes.

5. You become addicted:

Here is where the fun really lies, addiction. Have you ever been addicted to anything? (Like I am to my phone?)

PS: Say NO to drug addiction.

You become addicted to Twitter that you wake up and the first thing is to check for tweets and other interactions that might have occurred while you are asleep, cos, while man slept, Tweeters were busy Tweeting. Welcome to the new life, you start building a huge following, and you start tweeting savage Tweets too. Soon, you will see your profile on one random meme on Whatsapp.

But, when you get to this stage, why not turn your addiction to business. Yes, you become addicted, having your fun online and you still make money. In case you don’t know, Digital Influencing has its heartbeat on Twitter. I won’t go into details as that will be a post for another day, but know that making money on Twitter is possible, and you will make yours (If you become addicted)

Twitter is still a developing platform in Nigeria, but, with the evolution of digitals in Nigeria, it is the near future of social media in Nigeria.

Quick tip; while using Twitter you can become as informed as a journalist, cos all of the breaking trends and news make their way to our Tweeting world.

What are you waiting for, let’s Tweet!

EducationAfriclearn - Nigeria's Latest Digital School Launches In Lagos by BlackPenNG(op): 10:15pm On Mar 23, 2018
Education is the best legacy, but this should not be confused with Academics. AfricLearn, a new digital educational platform as of today, Friday 23rd March, launched in Lagos, Nigeria.

The sole purpose of this digital platform is to enable students from primary, secondary and tertiary institutions have access to educational materials. This proves a step in the right direction as about 91million Nigerians now use the internet, according to Statista, indicating that our netizens are going digital (Finally!).

CEO of AfricLearn, Mr Femi Sanusi had a few things to say at the launch "AfricLearn is poised to providing unique solutions to content breach in the Nigerian education sector. All that students need is either a dmartphone or a PC, and they log on to the website to get various materials needed for their academic pursuits. "
"With this, there should be no excuse of books unavailability"

According to him, the ebooks provided for secondary schools are aligned to the SSCE curriculums. The project is kicking off with contents available for secondary schools now, and Sanusi promised that by 2019, Content texts will be made available for tertiary instutution students.

Academics and education go hand in hand, and this all round development should be the priority of any govt, so as to leave a progeny that is able to make the nation better.

I hope this marks a legendary turn in the tides of education in Nigeria.

PoliticsPdp Takes Advantage Of Bill Gates Comment On Nigeria's Economy, Press Release by BlackPenNG(op): 8:43pm On Mar 23, 2018
Irrespective of the storm Facebook is going through as regards the Cambridge analytica scandal, it still has its uses, in that the PDP youth Forum were able to get their press release up and running.

While Bill gate visited Nigeria reportedly to attend Dangote daughter's wedding, he visited Buhari and key economic issues were discussed at the subsequent Economic meeting.

During the meeting, Bill Gates had made remarkable comments that made his name trend on number 2 spot on Twitter.
Amongst his comment were:
1."The current economic policies in Nigeria employed by the Buhari administration does not have the ability to address current needs of Nigerians"
2. "Nigeria is the most dangerous place to give birth"
3. "The fact is inescapable, Nigeria's economy tomorrow depends on its schools today"

These among other comments were among others were his statements when he mounted the podium.

But, do you know those that took the most advantage of this speech of Bill Gate, PDP.

The PDP youth forum took to Facebook to make the release on the need to #KickBuhariOut

Read Full release below

March 23, 2018

Press Statement

Bill Gates Comments Vindicate Nigerians Resolve to Kick Out Buhari

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) says the verdict by Bill Gates that President Muhammadu Buhari’s economic policies are anti-people has justified the resolution by Nigerians to kick out the dysfunctional All Progressives Congress (APC) and its Federal Government come 2019.

The party said the verdict has also vindicated its stand that the Buhari administration is the worst in the history of our nation; that it never had the interest of the people at heart but has been lying to Nigerians with false performance indices and cosmetic appearances, while its agents continue to siphon funds meant for the welfare of the people.

PDP National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, in a statement on Friday, said President Buhari and the APC can now see that the entire world is fully aware of their misrule and as such should stop wasting the nation’s resources on pointless image laundering and desperate quest for international endorsements.

The PDP noted that Gates was just being polite to his host, President Buhari, when he said the policy of his government is not reflecting the needs of the people.

What Gates did not tell President Buhari and his team was that their administration is so incompetent, disorganized and confused that it could not develop any functional economic policy direction and that this has caused our nation her current economic woes.

Bill Gates comments on the Federal Government’s empty, deceptive and discredited Economic Recovery and Growth Plan (ERGP), right in the Presidential Villa and in the presence of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, came to President Buhari and the APC as stunt gone awry as they had planned to use the world figure to earn an undue international endorsement ahead of 2019 elections.

More disheartening is that instead of being remorseful, officials of the APC administration, including Prof. Osinbajo, are attempting to put up a lame defence, despite the indicting facts.

The whole world is sad that under President Buhari and the APC, our dear nation, which was hitherto one of the most vibrant economies, has now become one of the most dangerous places to give birth, with the fourth worst maternal mortality rate in the world.

This administration, in the last three years, has not been able to initiate any functional policy on health, education, housing, agriculture, electricity, industrial growth, effective economic empowerment and gainful employment, or any deliberate plan to grow a sustainable middle class in the country.

Instead, what Nigerians get is a sinking economy resulting from anti-people policies; multiple taxations, increased tariffs on essential commodities and services, increase in food prices, fuel price hike, huge foreign debts, a weakened currency and massive job loss while APC interests continue to fritter away trillions of naira for their selfish gains.

It is obvious that this Buhari administration derives joy in seeing Nigerians suffer hunger and starvation even in the midst of our huge potentials at remaining one of the greatest nations on the globe.

We however urge Nigerians not to despair as our rebranded and repositioned party will bring up a credible and people-oriented candidate that will work with the citizens to salvage our nation from the economic woes and the misrule of the APC come 2019

Signed:

Kola Ologbondiyan
National Publicity Secretary

Bill Gate was simply saying the truth, and I hope Buhari does not regret inviting him. And even if he did, all the best to Mr. President.

Technology MarketFacebook Might Just Be Up For A Fall, Elon Musk Deletes Tesla's And Space X Face by BlackPenNG(op): 6:44pm On Mar 23, 2018
It all started with a scandal, but facebook might jist be up for a fall, and this indicatoon is coming after Elon Musk deletes both pages of Tesla (automobile making company) and Space X (as the name implies).

This development is coming in the wake of the scandal of data breach that occurred between Facebook and Cambridge analytica. You might not ba aware of this scandal, but the summary is that a company called Cambridge analytic, whose activity is majorly to analyse data for eoections, illegally obtained data of 50million facebook users, and the pressure Facebook is facing is simply cos they failed to protect users data very well

After the scandal ensued, Elon Musk reacted to the tweet of co founder of whatsapp, Brian Acton tweeted that "It's time #deletefacebook". Though Brian maybe pissed that he had to leave the company he founded after Mark paid the fee to buy the company over.
Elon Musk reacted to the tweet, and said sarcastically, "What's Facebook"

Twitter users held Elon by his word, and pressured him on the platform, and now both accounts of the companies are disappeared from the world's most famous Social Media.
The following tweets are what led to the disappearance of the pages of the Companies of the future (considering their innovations and all), from Facebook.

http://www.blackpenng.com/2018/03/facebook-might-just-be-up-for-fall-elon.html?m=1

Now, that a notable account with about 2million followers each has disappeared, who's next?

The question we should ask right now is that, those that managed the social media accounts of these companies, what will they be doing for a living now. The pledge of their CEO led to the scrapping of their jobs, and this is borne of the mistake of Zuckerburg.

Don't get it twisted though, Mark has admitted to his company's mistakes, and has promised to improve. But, what will happen next?

Gbenga Oloniran, the secretary of the Anti Neo-liberal attacks
against Students Association (ANSA), and a female student were
reportedly ‘arrested’ by the security unit of the university.
The school vacated February 17 but students writing their final year
projects and those undergoing their SIWES and Teaching Practice
(TP) programmes are still on campus.

Ayodeji Fridaus, who witnessed the forceful eviction at Moremi hall,
he said that the officers were not ”considerate enough as they
threw students loads from the topmost floor”.
“Some of us are on campus because of SIWES. Where do they want
us to go?” she said.

Also, an occupant of Moremi hall, Miss Akinremi, a final year
student, complained that she is yet to finish her final year project.
She said her property including her mattress was flung out by
rampaging officials.

Halimat Busayo, who resides at the Alumni hall also narrated a
similar tale of eviction.

The hall warden of Alumni Hall, who did not give her name explained
the reason for the action. She said that ”the order (for eviction)
came from the school management for renovation purposes”.
“The hostels were renovated when these students came in. They
should also allow us to renovate when new ones are coming in,” she
said.

The Dean of Division of Students Affairs (DSA), Isiaka Aransi, who
showed up later in the company of the school’s chief security
officer at the scene of conflict in Moremi simply instructed the
students to move out immediately.
A three-hour-ultimatum was subsequently given to students
occupying halls of residence to leave.

TV/MoviesNollywood Goes Global, Partners With Hollywood To Showcase Nigerian Movies by BlackPenNG(op): 11:27am On Mar 22, 2018
So far, it's the biggest (and might be for the rest of the year) news as regarding Nigeria's movie industry, Nollywood. Nollywood in a latest development has secured a partnership deal with Hollywood, which they chose to call Nollywood in Hollywood. Fascinating right?

Now, this is all it's about. Three movies namely, 93 days, The Bridge and Isoken will showcase in Hollywood cinemas, starting from Friday.

It's an unprecedented move to showcase a handful of African movies on the world stage in Hollywood. Nigeria was lucky to join a team with other six countries from around the world, and would be showing forth the best of African (indigenous movies relative to the other countries) movies on the world stage. This shouldn't come as too much surprise, even now, we have a black superhero ranking over the likes of Iron man (Black Panther).

The inaugural Nollywood in Hollywood event will kick start with the feature of "93 days" at the world famous Egyptian cinema right in the heart of Hollywood. If you are planning to be there, red carpet is friday night, not Saturday's dawn(No african time)

Top industry officials in Hollywood are set to grace the event, alongside various Nigerians in Hollywood. Kunle Afolayan, Steve Gukas and Dakore Akande are Nollywood Ambassadors on a mission to the showcase, "Make Africa Proud".

The screening showcase will be hosted by top officials in Hollywood and presented by Grauman Egyptian theatre, school of cinematic arts (University of southern cakifornia), and O2A media inc.

Kunle Afolayan posted a video relating to the event on social media and it sure did went viral.

But, a disheartning issue is that despite the importance and opportunities imbued in the showcase for the Nigeria Film Industry in the international market, the Federal Ministry of Culture didn't do as much as to even turn a bkind eye, also the Nigerian Embassy. They both did nothing to support the showcase, but thanks to air france that came in handy to fly the actors and film makers over.

Nigeria's problem is at all time high, and onku Hod can save us.

Nevertheless, thanks to Black Panther that had given value to Africa on the world stage, he is really Africas Super Hero. The low self esteem is finally wanning.

WebmastersInstagram Rolls Out New Update To The Bio Section Of Your Profile, Check It Out by BlackPenNG(op): 10:14am On Mar 22, 2018
Probably, you didn't notice before, but you can't add an hastag to your instagram profile's bio before. Now, you can. In a new Instagram blog post, while editing your profile, you can add an hastag (#) or "@" to your profile's bio. This would help you link directly to post or profile related to the tag.

With this new feature, you can link your instagram profile to your interests, and also to you having mutiple account, you can link directly to the other accounts. This upgrade certainly comes in handy. On my account I can decide to add at #BBNaija and @TobiBakre. Choose your choice.

One step to follow actually is that you have to update your Instagram app (If you are not using the latest one), as this feature is only available on the latest instagram app version

Technology MarketSimplest Trick To Save Whatsapp Status, No Apps Needed by BlackPenNG(op): 9:57am On Mar 22, 2018
The new (no longer new anyways) Whatsapp update that has enabled us to take a step further into peeping into what our friends are doing, Whatsapp Status is so cool that most of us spend minutes (hours for someone with my kinda account), looking through friends pictures, videos, gifs, and write ups.

You would agree with me that some statuses are just so cool that you want to save them to your phone, and watch at a later time or even share to your friends list. I get.

Unfortunately, the three dots at the top right corner of the status screen is meant for the mute option and there is no option of save or download.

Apps have been developed to save whatsapp statuses, but, I'm sure some of you don't like apps (probably cos of memory space), or even if you do like them, you just don't fancy downloading from playstore (always waiting for a friend's Xender), here is a quick trick to save that friend's status..

1. View the status

2. Open your phone's file explorer

3. Open the phone memory option, amd scroll down through to whatsapp (where whatsapp files are backed up)

4. Click on "Media"

5. Look for status. (There is possibility you don't see it, but if you do see it, jump to step 7)

6. Click on the "eye" icon at the foot of your screen, or whatever icon is there, click on show hidden files

7. You will then see the folder "Statuses"

8. Open and click on the icon at the lower right side of the screen, or any icon that will make you see the option, "Arrange A - Z", so that the statuses will be arranged in order in which you viewed them.

9. Long press on the status you are interested in and copy

10. Go to another folder, preferably memory card (if you don't have, you can use picture folder or video folder in you internal memory)

11. Then paste the copied status there. Sefini.

Theee you go, no apps needed. Nothing, let's say goodbye to this numerous apps, and save ourselves some space to download BBNaija shows. Lol.

Just in case you still need more instruction, kindly check if this video I made for you can be helpful. Check video via link

CelebritiesBill Gate In Attendance As Dangote Gives Out Daughter In Marriage by BlackPenNG(op): 8:14am On Mar 17, 2018
When the rich are giving out in marriage, they do so in grand style, as so is the marriage ceremony of Dangote's daughter, Fatima, who is now the wife of the son of the Former Inspector General of police, Jamil Abubakar.

Of all wedding ceremonies in Nigeria, i think this is one that had the highest Dignitaries in attendance. All those in the hem of affairs of Nigeria graced the occassion, and the cap of it all is the attendance of Bill Gate, the second richest man in the world.

President Bihari served as the guardian of the Bride as he gave out the lady to the groom, after a dowry of N500,000 had been paid.

Among Nigerian dignitaries present at the function are Senate President, Bukola Saraki, Speaker of the house of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, Tinubu, and governors from almost all Nigerian state, among other political icons in the nation.

We wish the new couple a blissful marriage

EducationEducation And Academics: The Difference You Really Do Not Know by BlackPenNG(op): 11:42am On Mar 16, 2018
Black Pen

“Education is a scam” That’s the watchword of an average Nigerian student, who is frustrated by the deteriorated system of schooling in the nation. Trust me, I shout this too. But, on my deeper thought, are we talking about Education or the art of schooling, which is termed Academics. What is Education? What is Academics? I’m an internet savvy that even learnt how to make concoction rice from the internet, so straight to my friend, Google.
First, I went over to search for “What is Education?” and the number 1 online encyclopedia, Wikipedia popped up with an answer that if you don’t believe, then you have faith issues. It says “Education is a process of facilitating learning, or the acquisition of knowledge, skills, values, beliefs and habits. All the rest is bla bla bla, you can check for yourself. And then to “What is Academics?” dictionary.com gave me an answer this time, and it says “Academic is of or relating to a college, academy, school or other Educational institution, especially one for higher Education”. I know you might not be satisfied since the word Education popped up in its meaning, then leggo to Collinsdictionary.com, “Academic is used to describe things that relate to the work done in schools, colleges, and universities, especially work which involves studying and reasoning, rather than practical or technical skills.”
If you have a mind that is so simple to receive basic facts, by now you should get what I mean when I tell you that you have been perceiving Education wrong, just like I used to do. Taking a cue from the definitions above, I can categorically tell you that, the process by which you learnt how to make Jollof rice is Education, when you learnt to wash your clothes clean, you were being Educated. And I will say Academics is all the la cramme la pour we do for physics, chemistry, history and the likes, and that, I believe is what you and I call “scam!”.
Though I get where you are coming from, the use can be ambiguous, even our parents and the government are not helping matters, always looking at education with the lens of school, but, it’s time you get Educated about this, and you Educate them too. (Tell them that when you taught them how to use Facebook, they were being Educated by you.)
If Education is a scam, then the art of me learning more about blogging and digital marketing, that I so much love to do must be a scam, cos I’m learning. You love playing football, and I’m sure the football joggling you can now do, didn’t jump on you from heaven, you had to learn it, that’s Education! I guess that is also a scam.
Basically, all we do as humans are as a result of an Education, which is either Education of the body, that of the mind, of the intellects etc. Imagine a young baby yet to walk, he wants to, but because he doesn’t want to be scammed by Education, refused to learn how to walk, he would remain there, while his mates will be driving a Porsche.
I know your resilient mind would have nailed me to the cross, saying “There are three types of Education.” This is how Wikipedia puts the three; Formal learning is Education normally delivered by trained teachers in a systematic intentional way within a school, higher Education or University. It’s one of three forms of learning as defined by the OECD (don’t worry about what it means, and if you rare curious, google is your friend), the others being informal learning, which typically takes place naturally as part of some other activities, and non-formal learning which includes everything else, such as sports, instructions provided by non-trained Educators without a formal curriculum.
I’m getting tired of writing, and I’m hoping the little I would say after this would be able to make you see the point, amen.
Formal learning is when you go to school, follow a curriculum, are under a trained educator, and you are involved in academic work. So, get it by force, Academics is simply a minute part of education, it’s not an equivalent. Even two third of the concept of Education is not Academics.
Don’t get it twisted, Education is the best legacy, cos if you don’t train your mind, body and brain all round, you end up lacking, and unfit for the world. But, you might not go to school, only to learn basic English and still come out like Dangote. Schooling and engaging in academic work is very fundamental though, cos it trains your thinking capacity and exercises you reasoning faculty. That’s why schools like OAU is for ‘LEARNING AND CULTURE’, not ‘ACADEMICS and culture’. Learning something, learning anything, learning one thing, is education. Even if you are learning how to Vulcanize, you are being Educated.
I hope you really get what I’m saying, and if not, all the best, your eyes of understanding will be enlightened.
So, next time you wanna join me in criticizing Nigerian schools, let’s say “Academics is a scam, not Education”. We don’t like it, is why we say it, nobody likes reading, studying and racking brains in unfavourable conditions, but it’s still the reason why your brain is getting ‘sharper’ by the day.
Educate yourself in a skill today, learn something, learn anything, every day. Education is the best legacy. Gracias.

Music/RadioDownload "This Gospel" By Chosen Generation Choir (cgc Rcf Oau Choir) by BlackPenNG(op): 2:35pm On Feb 11, 2018
“This Gospel” as sung by the Chosen Generation Choir (CGC) of the Redeemed Christian Fellowship, Obafemi Awolowo University (RCF OAU), is a song that will expose the mind of the listeners and believers to the gospel of Christ which had been committed to them, and the realities they now enjoy in Christ.

This gospel is an express enlightenment about the birth, the death and the resurrection of Christ. The life he came to offer, and how to relate this good news to the world not saved.

It had been sung on stage at the sessional program of the Redeemed Christian Fellowship (RCF) OAU (tagged Dominant Army Conference) by the largest Choir on Obafemi Awolowo University campus (Chosen generation Choir), and now “This Gospel” is set to make its waves in various headsets, earphones and mobiles.

CelebritiesBanky W, Adesua & Ikechukwu's Rap Video Is The Cutest Thing Ever by BlackPenNG(op): 1:02am On Jan 13, 2018
This love I believe will never die, and I actually don't pray it does. Falling in love can be a beautiful thing (Don't ask me how I know), but you have to keep renewing the love, if you want to stay fresh. Keep the thrills and the grills on, have fun with your partner.
Banky W and Adesua Etomi took the world to a stand still when they got engaged, Marriage was superb, and now "Honey Moon" is making waves. Though, official Honey Moon might be over, but they ain't thinking of ending the vibes any soon.

After escapades of singing together on stage, now it's time for rap. Surprised? Don't be, the rap is actually cool, as I found myself moving my head to the groove too. The show went down on Accelerate TV, and the couple actually killed rap songs with Ikechukwu in the dark camera room.

The short video was tagged "3 hard way", and it had Ikechukwu rapping to Notorious B.I.G Big Poppa, while the Wellingtons did the Chance the rapper's Blessing and Jay-Z's dream.
