Your so called husband is lazy and if i were you i would dump him fast. A real man will get his hand on anything he can do instead of seating at home watching crap tv and waiting for director jobs to drop on his lap - You are both jokers |
dumb and dumber |
Hi Any ideas on laptop/pc hardware requirements to install SAP ECC 6 cheers |
Well Done - Mr Jarus. |
@Onlytruth You are spot on the imprisonment of a corrupt presiding officer - That might be part of the cleaning process. |
Crooked Politicians only have one shared ideology " Looting" and it works best for all - |
PapaBrowne:I understand - but reading the article clearly identifies the solution - the more people who turn out to work the less mago mago but unfortunately we need to get credible candidates interested and then will have a large turn. |
Loving this thread - A break from Igbo/Yoruba hatred - Just wish we could have more of this type of thread and make the Forum interesting. |
Mr Paddy - Hope You are not Irish - More grease to your elbow Love this thread. One day sha will make that bold step to relocate so one can be a part of this massive growth |
This Chairman is wicked - Promise fulfilled - maybe a sink hole swallowed the new road. You can see that Nigerian are now so conditioned to abnormalities in a more sane society the billboard would have pulled down fast. |
^^^^ Fantastic Video - Nigeria sure has its potential but just imagine how much more we can achieve if the Electricity issue can be fixed. Vision 2020 will happen in less than 2 years. Please share investment ideas anything apart form share trading - just to risky for me. I am always looking out something with a physical nature. |
Credit to Julius Berger because of the numerous projects it has delivered in Nigeria but one must also say highlight the other negative duties of company which includes over invoicing , a dubious front and it other numerous malpractices. Correct me if i am wrong but this Nigeria only company might have cost us more than we have benefited from it. Every day is for the thief and surely a day for the owner. |
Maybe or Maybe not - Nigeria has many monsters |
makajibbz:slowpoke so what are you doing about - i can see you are already conditioned to evil what a shame - People like you with the same mindset is the reason why the rot will continue and the only solution will be to terminate your kind so we can move the great country forward. |
Johnson said it was regrettable that the road collapsed, adding that mild traffic jam should still be expected pending the completion of works on the road. Special Adviser to the Governor on Transportation, Mr. Kayode Opeifa said LASTMA officials were fully on ground to direct traffic on the route, saying that he could not tell how long traffic would last on the route. Johnson said what happened was a natural disaster beyond government’s control, saying that flood should be held responsible for the collapse of the road. “There was a heavy rain on Saturday, 20 June 2010 which caused flooding in Iba. The flood resulted in failure of a culvert across LASU-Iba Road, near Agboroko. “A team of engineers visited the site to assess the situation and determine the reasons responsible for the failure,” her added. According to him, it was observed that the pavement on one side of the carriageway had collapsed forcing motorists to share the other carriageway initially resulting in heavy traffic bottleneck. “The distressed carriageway is the new pavement added to the original carriageway’’, he said. He stated that prior to this incident, a rapid development in the Agboroko and Igbo Elerin axis and construction of illegal structures across Aperan Iba and Agboroko channels had been observed, adding that “the result of this is the build up of water in the mainly low-lying areas.” Johnson added that “the possibility of huge volume of water had been identified by engineers working on the project at this and some other locations on the road. Plans were already afoot to address the problem by construction of multi-cell culverts at the locations before this unfortunate incident Read more: Remedial Work Begins On LASU-IBA Road | Nigerian News – P.M. For God sake move your shit to the racism section - and stop derailing thread - The Topic here is Substandard road building by Area boys turned Civil engineers |
bk/babe90:O ti ya we re - Please abeg you are a not a voice for the Yoruba people - Your hatred is on another level and you are totally consumed by it. |
Mariory:And some idiots are calling this a sink hole - Sink hole ko singing lessons ni - This is what you call incompetent and shoddy work |
Big B1:] I thought IBB don quit. |
Please read this How to Build a Sand Clay Road by Prof. M. Goode Homes, Department of Civil Engineering, University of South Carolina When a sand-clay road is built upon a clay sub-grade, proper drainage is one of the most essential things, for unless the sub-grade of the road is dry and firm the surfacing of sand-clay is sure to break through. Ordinarily side ditches, which must be large enough to carry off all of the water falling on the road, will be sufficient. These side ditches should be wide and shallow, rather than narrow and deep, as thus they will not be hard to keep open nor dangerous to travel. They should be from four to five feet wide and from one to one and a half feet deep, sloping three to one on the side next to the road and down to one on the outer side, and they should have outlets as frequently as possible to carry the water entirely away from the road. When the sub-grade is wet or damp most of the time, or is through swampy land, tile sub-drains should be laid in order to keep the foundation of the road dry and firm. It must be borne in mind that greater care must be exercised to keep the clay sub-grade dry and in the majority of cases of a sub-grade in sandy soil. more here http://www.fhwa.dot.gov/infrastructure/how.cfm How much more a tared road |
Sky Blue:Look Mr Man i am not in denial that a sink hole cant happen in Nigeria but my point was based on the common substandard work called road projects in Nigeria. Analysing the posted picture of the road one can clearly see that it is was built on the wrong type of foundation. The vast majority of road in Nigeria are built on this type of foundation without proper drainage system and the slightest chance of rain the road washes away. |
pain me ke ? you must be smoking weed - i wont lose sleep over your crap. |
babapupa:Ori oti fokasibe - omo ode |
For goodness sake it is not a sink hole and it is the Area boy turned Civil engineer cutting corners |
Aloy_Emeka:God bless you my brother - I just can stand some fools who come here to defend the indefensible it is so clear that the foundation was not right for a high usage road. For God sake what do u expect when you build on clay. I have seen roads been built the latest one being the M25 in the u.k and i can confirm that i saw concrete being poured in metal casing rods and this was the foundation before tar was poured on top. Using clay as foundation is so common in Nigeria and very cheap for a contractor trying to cut corners and any slight rain the road washes way. |
tpiah:if it is were a river that busted it banks then no problem but for Rain that you are expecting dont u think a drainage system would have prevented the unnecessary havoc - it is still shoddy work. which is common factor in Nigeria |
Answer the question fool - Is that part of Lagos a limestone area. This damage was not caused by A river bursting it banks it was caused RAIN for goodness sake or maybe they did not budget for drainage system - bloody shoddy work. |
What causes sinkholes? A sinkhole is a large depression in the Earth's surface, often shaped like a well or a funnel, that can be up to several miles in diameter. Sinkholes are most common in limestone regions. Underground layers of limestone can be dissolved by groundwater or by seepage from above-ground streams. http://www.enotes.com/science-fact-finder/earth/what-causes-sinkholes I have seen a number of sink holes they all look round - The lagos one is not round and is not in a limestone area it is simply substandard work |
Liar liar Sink hole ko Singing lesson ni make i go research sink hole and come back to deal with the topic. This is simply shoddy work |
Only God knows how much the contractor collected to build the road and now one rainfall the thing collapse - Why Why Why - what happened to international best practices on road building. I suspect the contract was given to an Area boy turned civil engineer with 2 tippers, 1 caterpillar and 100 labourers with shovel and rake. In the western world before a road is constructed the foundation is strengthened with pure concrete and metal casing rods and definitely not with CLAY SOIL. I just hope Eko Atlantic is not built with this kind of foundation. |
Ol boy Congrats - How many audi's do you want to me fix as down payment- so my Son can marry your daughter when they grow up. ![]() |
Girl846:Are u well or is your brain missin some screws - Somebody says he is a devil worshiper and you are askin him to seek God's view on a matter - Biggest Joke of the century. |
