dlox01: i really have to admit, Paddy_lo is very brilliant. hez got this argument spot on,rarely do you see that on NL. ezeagu is really just trying to post comments the way it going. if an alternative is not built before 2025,where do you want the magnitude of people to stay by the time we are the 3rd largest/most populous state?or do u think building such a project is 2 or three years?what is happening now is futuristic and you are stuck in the past. building this dosnt stop the government from refublishing, building and maintaining what is already available coz its a private initiative. MM2 is an example, did it stop FG from maintaining MMA(airport)??no!!! This is not to dismiss the great construction feat but atleast 90% of the real lagosians would not be able to afford or live on this reclaimed land therefore overcrowding on the mainland still remains. |

Nobody should dismiss these serious allegations - I am very sure they carry some elements of truth. The fact that BRF might be performing should divert attention from malapractices. Do remember this is Nigeria where most are compromised and have sold their souls to the devil in return for wealth most especially at the expense of the poor masses. |

~Sauron~: I cannot raise ma kid in this country. When i have ma kids, they are going back to Naija once they hit 9/10. . . . . They won't be coming back until they hit 17. London is one of the worst cities to raise kids. The environment is toxic. It depends on the area - east and south london are notorious areas . I live in essex and can confirm these area and others outside of london are much more safer and exempt from all these killings. how come we dont hear all these rubbish in places like Hampstead, Fulham, Surrey, and other nicer areas. |
Politics › Re: Death Of A Nigerian Son in London, Again!! by blacksta(m): 9:36pm On Jul 05, 2010 |
I live in the u.k and cant attest the cause of this madness is the breakdown of the family structure - so many single mothers out there who are just kid themselves. How is a kid suppose to control a kid. Until the government addresses this issue and give back power to schools and parents to discipline their kids - I am sorry to say the sad events will continue to happen. some parts of london are just not safe to bring up children. |
Sports › Re: Breaking News: Jonathan Reverses Ban On Super Eagles Hours To Fifa Deadline! by blacksta(m): 8:16pm On Jul 05, 2010 |
maxxy: Point to note is that politics is never black and white, or about morality and shame, and its politics we are dealing with here. Go read books such as Art of War, 48 Laws of Power, Art of Deception, etc, and you will get to understand issues of strategies and tactics that are at play here.
According to Sun Tzu, “all warfare is based on deception. Hence, when able to attack, we must seem unable; when using our forces, we must seem inactive; when we are near, we must make the enemy believe we are far away; when far away, we must make him believe we are near”. In otherwords, if GJ had come out to say, “I hereby disband NFF” (which is his main intention), FIFA would immediately ban us. But by saying “I withdraw Nigeria from Int’l football for 2 yrs’ FIFA has gotten so worked up that Lulu and co’s orchestrated impeachment by NFF board now seems a non-issue. And so GJ has achieved his original purpose without showing his hand and it would of course be an over-kill to insist on enforcing the ban.
And did someone say chicken-hearted GJ? It was Machiavelli that said the end justifies the means; not morally sound, but then sometimes it just makes sense!
Thus the highest form of generalship is to balk the enemy's plans; the next best is to prevent the junction of the enemy's forces; the next in order is to attack the enemy's army in the field; and the worst policy of all is to besiege walled cities (FIFA). - Sun Tzu (Art of War)
If the above was the thought process of GJ then i hail him - I just wish he would apply the same to INEC, PHCN, Health, Good governance and the rest |

X-2-X: Isn't it interesting that the rev2 article (@ http://www.rev2.org/2007/11/13/5-reasons-why-android-will-revolutionize-the-mobile-industry/) - which you essentially plagiarized in your post - was first published in 2007?! Three years is a very long time in "mobile tech" world. How has Android fared in that time?
The "revolution" in the mobile industry started long before Android. Someone told me it (the revolution) started in 2003. I'd say even much earlier! As of today, it is not just Android vs iPhone. Symbian (which still has a lion share of the smart phone market) is now open source (how about that?). J2ME (which is the most widely deployed platform, with billions of handsets in use as we speak) apps can now offer truely astonishing UI's (thanks to open, standards complaint libraries like LWUIT and SVG support) - I wont even mention "THE KILLER" (MIDP 3.0). Then there's Nokia, with Meego/Maemo, opening up and tooling Qt/C++ developers too. I can go on and on . . . . I can even take each of the 5 reasons you posted above and make them look like a huge joke, I won't bother.
My point is, its not just an Android party, at least, not from where I stand. It would be great if you can include a balanced view of the options out there as you preach your Android sermon to what seems eager Nairaland congregants.
Kip on rockin! Absolutely no need of ego display - Please share knowlegde or move on - Will deal with your points later when i get home. |
