Politics › Re: Buhari Backs Western Sahara On Self-determination From Morocco by BlackTechnology: 8:49pm On Mar 11, 2016 |
Quakertellicus1: 1.The Western Sahara struggle has been largely secular.
2.As regards Biafra....the OAU has always had a policy of respecting the original borders of all African colonies turned countries. Yes...South Sudan happened....but that was the result of a ten year process of negotiation that was conducted partially under UN auspices., and even then people like the late John Garang always wanted a united Sudan.(secular run).
3.Buhari here is merely backing long established AU policy of backing the Western Sahara (which has been in place since the 1970's).
4.Western Sahara was ''a separate colony'' that on independence was invaded by another country....and occupied. (A good analogy would be Nigeria invading Benin Republic and taking it over.). Biafra was never run as a separate colony.
5.If Buhari is a hypocrite...then GEJ too was a hypocrite...because he never ever repudiated Nigeria's policy of supporting Western Sahara.(And if he had...that would have isolated him from the rest of the AU).
6.On a more interesting note...Morocco has some precedent....in the 1960's India invaded the Portuguese colony of Goa and took it over. Most of the people were happy with that.
On the other side of the coin.....Indonesia took over the Portuguese colony of East Timor in 1975....and that sparked off a rebellion that ended with Timorese independence in 1998. Keep deceiving yourself |

Quakertellicus1: You may want to also call the African Union foolish...especially as it is African Union policy...since the 1970's , to back the Western Sahara. The Western Sahara even has a seat in the AU.
Buhari is just following long established AU policy....in place since the time the AU was the OAU. Shut up Buhari is a hypocrite. You can't clamp down on peaceful Biafrans while championing Islamic separatists. |

gbosaa: If you preach something, you have to back it up with action. You preach hate and violence but you can't throw a punch or even motivate your followers enough to raise a fist. What do you call that?.
What kalu is doing is very dangerous. I wish he would change his method. He is too emotional for the job. Radio Biafra shouldn be listened to by everybody no matter the location in Nigeria but he has managed to turn it into something very notorious that passionate Igbos and all supporters of Biafra project are treated like criminal and sometimes killed or inflicted with permanent injuries. To you Answer this question If KANU is wrong, why did the US sent a fact finding team.? |

gbosaa: Whose parents have I abused sir? Who is Sir Achuzia's Nairaland son?
I don't support Nnamdi Kalu's method. I make no pretences about that. You can't achieve such goal which affects millions of Igbo by disrespecting and always hating on other ethnic groups. The beefing part should be left for bored and frustrated people to indulge in not someone like Mr Kalu.
People like Achuzia inspire me and I have taken a bold step to be like him. I will truly want to visit and pay homage to this legend.
He is my hero. Pls if you know anyone related to him or how to reach him, let me know. Your views on KANU are inconsequential Nigeria understands one language and that is violence Why do you think the US sent a fact finding team.? |
