arewanationz: I told you, I didn't take the confab serious, and didn't follow it thus, I have very little information about that.

So far, what benefit does the country derive from solid minerals compared to the large deposits available?

The FG have long neglected other sectors and concentrated solely on Crude oil, which is partly responsible for the country's under development.

The sector should be developed first, before they can start talking of % bla bla.

FYI, I don't believe we have elders in this country.
Start from 18% first but they refused.
Who's fault

Sister their elders once told Jona to withdraw the military which Jona might be doing tactically cool grin

But Borno muslim wanted Sharia rule which BH is offering. Why are they now against their freedom fighters.

arewanationz: I never took the confab serious....

All I know right now is that the FG has all the power to explore available resources and NOBODY can stop it....
Be sincere

Ask yourself this question

Why did your elders rejected 18% placed on solid minerals and opted for 5%

emmatok: Ok let's get this right.
Devis is wrong For mentioning Ihejirika, but he is right for calling SA Sherif and SL Sanusi.
I sense Hypocrisy here .
If Northern elites had not played politics with BH issue especially when the whole world realized that their demands were unreasonable, we won't be in this position

Aringarosa: We shouldn't rule anything out, military coup is possible, even though i don't like the idea.
Any coup will breakup Nigeria

emmatok: And when the same man mentioned SA Sherif and SL Sanusi. You believe him.
Yes because he fits the profile after saying that it was the 13% oil derivative that rendered the NE poor causing BH to rise

Leondrox: I think it is going to by hydro powered.
It is situated at Oferekpe, Ebonyi state. The same Oferekpe that has a massive water plant. There is big water there.
That megawatt it's gonna generate, will be more than abundant for Ebonyi state.
IPP is the way man. If it's state venture, then it ain't gonna be costly as private power.

Can't wait for 2016.

jmoore: It is a welcome development if it is not a scam project.

Some folks are asking how it will benefit the people. This question sounds ridiculous. The state government will generate revenue by selling the electricity and the people will have steady and efficient power to run their businesses.
If all states can at least produce 1,000 megawatts, the country will generate more than 36,000 megawatts.

barcanista: Whilst I'm a proponent of treating everyone in Nigeria with equity, I am solidly in support of the Bring Competent People to Government cause. I am in no way in support of singling out a particular tribe and telling them that Your Government has appreciated and hired them much more than any government since Adam and Eve. Such statement mean "every past leaders of yoruba and northern extraction hates you, I am the one that loves you". No matter how we look @ it it is tribal. Besides, what has Jonathan done for the Igbos? Wouldn't it be better if he keep shut and allow the Igbos commend him rather than doing himself? He's seTting a Very bad precedents
I beg to disagree

I believe his actions has helped us pass a message to fellow Nigerians

Which is

Treat us well and we will rally round you.
Politics › Re: Illegal Mining Possible BH Numerous Sources Of Fund by BlackTechnology(op): 7:27am On Sep 05, 2014
arewanationz: I find the part in bold absolutely ridiculous.

Agreed, there are lots of mining feilds in the north which have not been explored by the government due to its negligence, and outright failure, but why should this theory of yours just come up NOW when the Top sponsors are about to be unravelled?
Did you listern to the Confab

The North opposed a higher derivation % placed on solid minerals. It was after much argument by Southerners did they accept 5% instead of 18% as proposed by Southerners.

Jakpon: After the civil war, during the 2nd republic, an igbo man, Chief Alex Ekweme was the Vice President of Nigeria whilst Alhaji Shehu Shagari was the president.

The only positon the igbos ought to be jostling for now is that of the presidency. Unless, perhaps you lot are satisfied with being lackeys for any government in power
Sincerely what we Igbo desire is not presidency but Economic infrastructure that can further speed up our rise out of poverty

How has presidency favoured the Northern and SW people

barcanista: A smart government will not play open tribal politics because it won't favor him and the tribe he perceivedly favored in the future. You need to realise that Jonathan will leave power some day and power will shift to the "marginalised" region. What will be the igbo fate? That's why I am against tribal politics
If you understand the history of Igbo and Nigeria relationship since the civil war ended , then you will know that Jona is not tribalistic but passing 2 messages which are

1) Igbos the war is over

2) As I treated our former enemy well, I will treat any section of Nigeria that is ready to work with me well. This includes SW who abandoned Jona in 2011 by giving him 4million votes out of 14 million registered voters making SW the least voters.
Politics › Illegal Mining Possible BH Numerous Sources Of Fund by BlackTechnology(op):
Unknown to many Nigerians, Northern elites sought to achieve what their SS counterpart accomplished through political armed thug without realising that their foot soldiers will metamorphosed into such a state

FACT IS

Just as the SS armed group metamorphosed into a group that could finance its operations without political support but through oil bunkering,

Boko Haram might be funding their operations through illegal mining of a precious mineral unknown to the FG due to North's attitude of not wanting to share their resources with the federation by keeping their minerals deposits secret

Its time the secret service stop repeating the same mistake of pointing fingers as they foolishly pointed towards SS politicians and Ojukwu during the ND militancy days and start spying our neighbours and Nigerians to see if any businessman or company is selling our minerals at a lower price when compared to international price.

To understand my view, pls watch the movies blood diamond and oil & blood(Nigerian movie on oil bunkering)

Let's help our security agencies unravel BH source of fund

Pls no APC and PDP madness needed.

Those of you who served in the North or live in the North can provide useful info

Thanks

By the time the Muslim North would have realized they have taken a wrong route, BH would have strongly entrench their caliphate and end their freedom to education, sport, democracy, music, movie, work, gender equality etc transforming them into a failed society in the order of Somalia N.Korea etc

bizlifelines: Gbam!! that was the first thing that came to my mind. I am sure that every intelligent security professional will find this report useful. Unless it's proven to be false, this report if well utilized will be helpful to both sides, whether Boko haram or the FGN. The country and those in administration truly need genuine advice and patriotic leaders who can help resolve this "civil war".Nigeria will rise above our present challenge. The country needs leaders with tremendous goodwill among the led, if the present leaders can just get it right, the war will end same day.
God bless my country
If only the military can lay a trap for them
