A lot of times I see posts both from people abroad and people that come from wealthy homes discauringing people from leaving Nigeria and I always try to understand why

The people that complain mostly are those that were doing well in Naija, people from wealthy homes, people with pride and ego, people who feel entitled, people who are reaping from relatives abroad etc.

Me as an ordinary young man without connection, that was earning 40k naira per month in Nigeria but now saving 400k per month outside Nigeria, how I want take complain?

My advice is to young men out there that don't want to do illegal things like Yahoo to make money, find way Japa!

I feel it is too late if I travel to the UK or the Netherlands in search of greener pastures.

At the moment, I earn between N250,000 and, sometimes, N300,000 per month.

Married with 3 kids (6, 4, and 1 year). All boys.

My skills are GIS, web design using Joomla!, WordPress, and Drupal. I am also intermediate in HTML5, CSS, SEO, PHP, and MySQL Workbench. I am also an expert in content writing.

Armed with a Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Management and a Diploma in Basic Cyber Security, what are my chances of survival?

How sellable are my skills over there?

Will I survive?

I don't want to go do the caregiver job thing.

Too old for the hustle and struggle.

I will always say this, Japa is for young agile men (not ajebutters).

Japa is not for women

Japa is not for people above 35 years

Japa is not for people earning at least 250k

Most of these young guys and girls going to UK and likes are going there to do "care giving" jobs which is a repackaged name for house helps and cleaners..
How will educated youths spend millions to travel abroad only to settle for shlt packing, shlt cleaning jobs. God abeg o.

You are saying what you have no idea about. You know how many Naija youths in professional industries? Even before most of them finish MSc they are already employed.

We do menial jobs as students to see us through our education and after that we go for our dream jobs.

It’s funny how citizens from other countries better than Nigeria (China, Korea, Spain, Italy) all come to Uk for hustle and we in our shithole want to use pride to do things.

Family / Re: As A Man 5 important Reasons Why you Should Reconsider Marriage by Blackveil: 4:46pm On Oct 26, 2023
These reasons are not enough to change my mind.

Even if it’s the only way to heaven, I'm not getting married

my dream was that immediately I came over, i and my dependant will search for jobs.. work and pay bill. but that is not feasible as I am seeing it.

i started this process with 15 million naira then when naira nose dive i had to borrowed extra 15 million to top it with interest of almost 2 million naira. landed in uk, started seeing the reality on ground

i have been in UK since 1 month plus. but getting a job as a migrant or new commer without UK experience is not easy.
in fact i have sent over 200 job application for cleaner, care assistant etc but all came with a sorry we have moved on to the next stage or you don't have uk experience.

school fees has to be paid. everyone here in tight corner... school has sent mail threatening to report to the immigration if school fees is not paid in the next few weeks to most Nigerians here.

no job, house rent is expensive.. going for 450 to 600 pounds per month.

travelling through student route is not really easy because you have to balance between work and school.. 'even at that where is the job as a new migrant.

Please if you are considering coming to UK for now.. please put on hold. the crowd from Indians, Pakistani, Malaysia, china etc is overwhelming.

it's not worth selling your home to be here.

i sleep in indeed and all this job site.. still yet nothing, bills mounting up.

all my colleague i came with are still with no jobs in other cities

after spending 13 million coming here with extra 3k dollars now almost exhausted chai

if u know you don't have full school fees, house rent for 12 months, upkeep.... running to 35m to 40m please stay back... stay back or apply through skill route.

edited with more info.

Dear OP, because of you I had to login to my account, I don’t understand why you will be complaining under one month of coming to the Uk. The struggle you are experiencing now, everyone experienced it at some point and we are surviving.

I enter UK January 2023 with 13k pounds dept and I paid it off in 7 months without dependent or form A, if I fit do am anybody fit do am
