According to This Day Reports, Kwankwaso’s conditions to join the APC are 1. Give him 20% of the entire structure of APC. 2. Remove Shettima as VP and put him as VP.

Very ridiculous and laughable! You have only one state out of 36 which is just 2.7% but you're demanding for 20%, as how now? Even the Kano you had then was not absolute, it was in serious contention! And you want another man who have his own state too, his Senators etc to step down for you. Gerraway!!!

Tinubu you do this one for Jos People! 🙏🙌

As y'all know, Plateau is one of the ethnic & religious volatile states, combined with banditry & farmers herders clashes. It's something we all hope stops someday.

According to some reports, over 11,000 people have been k!||ed in Plateau State in the last 20 years, with recurring clashes worsening insecurity across several LGs in the state.

In view of these, this week President Tinubu approved the recruitment of 1,000 Plateau youth as forest guards to help tackle & minimize the insecurity in the state.

For this one, Tinubu I say thank you. This is not the total solution to the problem but it is a welcome development.

Jos people make una apply for this position. Na Federal work. E good.

The House of Representatives has dismissed reports that the Minority Caucus constituted an ad hoc committee to re-examine the recently enacted tax laws and submitted an interim report, describing such actions as procedurally improper and lacking institutional backing.

In a statement issued on Sunday by the House Spokesman, Rep. Akin Rotimi, the lower chamber stressed that under its Standing Orders, only the House sitting in plenary or the Speaker has the authority to constitute an ad hoc committee with parliamentary status.
“No political caucus, whether majority or minority, possesses the procedural authority to establish a committee that carries the status of a parliamentary body,” Rotimi said

NELFUND dismisses loan repayment rumours, assures students of protection under law

The Nigerian Education Loan Fund, NELFUND, has debunked widespread reports suggesting that beneficiaries of the federal government’s student loan scheme have been instructed to begin repayment, describing the claims as false, misleading and capable of causing needless panic among students.

In a statement issued in Abuja on Saturday, NELFUND clarified that it has not issued any directive mandating students to repay their loans, contrary to claims circulating across social media and some media platforms.

Signed by the Director of Strategic Communications, Mrs. Oseyemi Oluwatuyi, the Fund reiterated its readiness to engage stakeholders and provide clarity whenever needed.

The Fund’s clarification follows a public disclaimer by the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Benin,UNIBEN, Prof. Edoba Bright Omoregie ,SAN, who disowned a purported circular allegedly outlining repayment procedures for NELFUND loans

According to the university, the document did not originate from UNIBEN, and no repayment guideline has been issued by NELFUND or the federal government.

NELFUND stressed that the conditions for loan repayment are clearly spelt out in its Establishment Act, which safeguards beneficiaries from repayment obligations while still in school or during periods of unemployment after graduation

PoliticsDefection: Tinubu, Governor Abba Yusuf In Closed-Door Meeting At Aso Rock by blamingthedevil(op): 5:57pm On Jan 19
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is currently in a meeting with the Governor of Kano State, Abba Kabir Yusuf, at the State House, Abuja.

The Kano governor arrived at the State House some minutes past 4 pm and was led towards the President’s office by the Chief of Staff to the President, Hon Femi Gbajabiamila.

The closed-door meeting comes amid speculation over a possible defection by Governor Yusuf, who was elected on the platform of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

It will be recalled that the national leader of the NNPP, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, had earlier dismissed reports suggesting that he approved or endorsed any planned defection by the Kano State governor, insisting that no such consent was given.

Political watchers say talks around the reported defection have been ongoing for weeks, though sources suggest negotiations may have stalled over disagreements, including whether the governor would be granted an automatic ticket ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The speculation has also reportedly deepened tensions between some of Governor Yusuf’s supporters and loyalists of his political mentor, Kwankwaso.

The meeting with the President might not be unconnected with the planned defection.

Details of the meeting are expected to emerge later.

Iran’s leader called President Trump a criminal responsible for the deaths of protesters during the latest unrest in the country, stepping up the rhetoric at a time when Trump has set aside the use of military force for now but hasn’t taken it completely off the table,” the Wall Street Journal reports.

"The comments come as the Iranian government is expressing greater confidence that it has won this clash with its opponents after cowing protesters with a bloody crackdown estimated to have left thousands dead. In addition to the tougher tone, the government has signaled it will gradually restore internet access after shutting it down for more than a week, a sign it feels better about its control of the streets.”
