RomanceRe: Saying " I Love You" by blandyne(op): 3:09am On Sep 27, 2009
@ Sissy, Iice and treetop20
I also believe that action matters the most. However, when you really love someone wouldn't you want them to know. Let them know that you do,  i mean saying those 3 words and adding actions to it won't hurt at all. Well if you really mean it of course.
RomanceSaying " I Love You" by blandyne(op): 2:50am On Sep 27, 2009
I feel stupid writing this right now, but anyway i'll go for it.

Will you continue to date someone without that person ever telling you that he loves you?

I know when I start dating someone is to get to know him and find out who he really is, and i do not expect that person to tell me right of the bat that he loves me (actually i have a tendency to run away from those kind of men). However, down the road let's say 5 or 6 months later, i assume one of the partners will develop some type of feelings for the other partner, right. What if it doesn't happen, or should i say what if the man doesn't say "I love you" to that woman but they still dating each other ? Does that mean he doesn't love her or he does and he's just not saying it yet . You should also know that the woman didn't tell the guy either even though she loves him a lot.

Please this couple that i'm referring to has more going on than just sex, or it seems like it. So i will appreciate if you post your comments without sex being your main focus.

AmakaOne:
I have yet to meet a Yoruba man who does not enjoy Efo Riro and it is relatively simple to make.

This superb Yoruba Speciality is made with assorted parts of meat, dried fish, fresh crab claws and fried snails in combinations with green vegetables such as Soko or Tete, ( Use spinach if you don't know what these are)
Ingredients
Thank you so much for the recipe Amakaone. Looking forward to cook him this meal. It looks so yummy!!!!!!!!!

I would assume that you have already prepared the meal. How did it go?
No Gabry i haven't prepared that meal for him yet. Mr S is trying to lose some weight and be more healthy. He said that nigerian cuisine is too fatty and has too much carbs.

luvbooks:
Dear G,

What have I done to deserve this from you? Have I ever cheated on you? Lied to you? Did I lie to you, saying that I cared about you when I didnt? Have I?
I found out that you were going out with a white girl as well,  while you were with me.  And that you laughed at me in front of your friends saying that you "like to take it slow. . .  whenever we are doing stuff and you don't want to kill me cos I'm  a sickler. . . "  . How could you? I believed in you.I told you a secret about myself and you informed everyone else. You told people these things about me when i hadn't even slept with you.  I thought at least you would have the maturity to keep what happens between us private. Why did you do this to me? Why?
I've meant to tell you this for ages and ask if it was true, but since the rumour wasnt even true, and i hadnt had sex with you, I didn't bother. I also never thought you would be the one behind all the stories.
I look at you, even now, and i can still see potential in you. You have the ability to be better than you are. But that is never going to happen as long as you keep trying to make people miserable. You will never know the extent of the damage you have done to me and my reputation and you will most likely never care. But I still dont think I deserved any of this from you. There was a day you tried to convince me that you were a horrible person. I didn't believe it because I knew you were better than that. I really tried to help you. You will never understand how I tried to make to make you happy.  But it didnt work.
I can remember when I found out that you were cheating on me with shade and that you had lied to me,  and when you came back that night you told me some thing like,  "What if I hadnt told you anything that was going on, ?" So I was supposed to be grateful and thank you for all the trouble you caused to me , right? I was suposed to go around with a smile on my face, grateful, that my boyfriend had cheated on me and decided to lie to me about the whole issue. I dont think so.
Did you ever like me at all? This hurts me the most because I know you never did. I was just a back- up plan. I may be naive and trusting and immature, but I would never deliberately hurt and use someone the way you did with me.
At least I learned something from you. You taught me not to be anti- social. Especially with my former housemates. Funny enough you were friendlier with them than i was when we first started going out. And then they ended up hating you at the end of it all because of whatever happened when i was on holiday. Till today I guess I will never exactly know what happened with you guys.
Every move you carried out with shade , you repeated with me. You asked her why she hated you so much, you did the same to me. You kissed her and she pushed you away, you ran back to me and i stupidly responded. How relieved you must have been. Do I look so much like her to you ?  You never took me out once. Not once. It didnt  matter to me because I was happy with you wherever we were. I preferred staying at home anyway, so it never was a big issue with me. I would just have loved to be appreciated once in a while.
I'm not saying I dont know where I made my mistakes. I'm saying I never treated you this way.
Remember something, G. What goes around comes around. There's a reason why people say this so much. Because it's true.
There's one thing I have to ask of you. Please dont do this to someone else. Please. Don't treat those coming in next year the way you have treated me. It's not worth it.
Have fun with your life. My greatest wish is that you change for the better.
Your letter is so touching. I'm sorry for what you've been through. The best will come into your life. Just think about it this way, every woman will come across a loser in her life, and the good thing is you saw it and was able to let it go. BE STRONG !!!!!!!!!

For all that might be interested, i found this site www.oduafarms.com where i get most of my smoked foods. Their smoked chicken is really delicious and can add accents to any dish you make : egusi, ogbono, pepper soup ,

I also like the fact that i get other ingredients easily on the site.
Thanks so much, i visited the website so helpful. Do you know if they're based in the U.S ?

Aloy~Emeka:
Ladies! Are you happy with the men in your lives? (Husband, lovers or whatever!)
Does he 'turn you on?' Or off!
Could he be more loving?
Is he a riot in bed? Or does HE have the headache?
What do you think of men in general?
What would they need to do to improve their standing in your eyes?
1- YESSSSSSSSS i'm happy with the men in my life ( my boyfriend and my father).

2- My bf always turns me on, but sometimes i also get turn off when he's being stubborn.

3- Yes he could be more loving, He's a hardworking man and works a lot which i admire a lot in him but once in a while i feel left outsad sad sad

4-Let's just say he already found my center of gravity cool cool cool

5- They  are too egocentric.

6- Be themselves and not phony because at the end of the day nobody cares about whose got the bigger dick. Life is not about competition only.
IslamRe: She Made Love To Me (In Ramadam Kareem) by blandyne(f): 4:21pm On Sep 03, 2009
At first i didn't want to reply to this thread since i'm not a muslim but a catholic. However at the end of the day there's only one God with different names, and God is merciful and forgiving. I don't know how bad it means in your religion to have sex during the Ramadam but if you really are sorry and regretful, God will forgive you and your girlfriend. Hopefully you guys will stop fooling around until the Ramadam is over.

RomanceRe: The Most Romantic Thing Your Partner Has Told You? by blandyne(f): 6:55pm On Sep 02, 2009
My guy is romantic, but he's the type that rather show it by the way he acts or do a few things for me, instead of telling me lines, or poetry. Anyway he told me once  " I knew I wanted to be with you on our first date when you started asking me those silly questions" I know it's not poetry, but that was soooooooo sweet of him smiley smiley smiley

@ Rebarobyn

Come on girl,at least give me some credits!!!! I'm able to make the Jollof rice, even though i haven't try the nigerian version per se but I'm Carribean and we have a dish pretty close to the jollof rice.

Like you said it won't be easy for me to find all the ingredients for egusi soup. However i did my homework and was able to find 2 african grocery stores not too far from where i live. I read online that i can subs the egusi seeds for pumpkin seed, what do u think?

You're right, i think egusi soup is not a good choice since it'll be the first time that i'm trying to cook for him. Do you have a recipe for IMHO? What kind of dish is it?

Hello everyone,

I want to surprise my boyfriend and cook for him. Unfortunately i'm not nigerian and i want to make him a nigerian dish.I came across a recipe for egusi soup online, but i'm a bit afraid of doing it. Can someone please advise me on what to cook and also give me an easy recipe ? Since he's a yoruba man, i would gladly prefer a dish from his tribe (egun).
Thanks a lot.
