I really don't get why married couples allow family members to live with them.

@ poster
I won't advise you to kick your bro out of the house. Meanwhile all you can do is stop having sex with her for awhile, well until your bro gets a job. I know it seems impossible but Good luck.

Dear dumb ass,

I'm so glad that it didn't work out between us. All u cared about was your arrogant ass, your car and how good u looked. Did u really think that you were the SHIThuh Thinking about it now, yes you were the shit under my shoe.
Don't even know why i cried when you dumped me, i was just naive back then. Thank you so much for opening my eyes because after you left i promised myself that i will never let myself bleeped by any man, and so far i'm the one fucking them.

the way my friend found out was surprising bcoz her husband was talking to one of his friend and she over heard him, and when he saw her, he started pleading saying nothing happened, .
I honestly think that the guy is lying. Would he have tell his wife, if she didn't catch him on the phone undecided undecided

If it was me in that situation, i'd certainly get enraged and leave. I can't stand cheaters nor liars. I told my boyfriend from the beginning of our relationship that the day i find out he's cheating on me, i'm gone. However, because the wife is pregnant, and am assuming that the husband still wants to be with her (that's the reason he lied to her, fearing to end the marriage), i would advise her to talk to him and find out if it's something he does every time they argue.

I'm really trying to see what i would have done to save my family, but honestly all i can think of right now is HOOKER angry angry.Sorry for not really contribuating to your thread

RomanceRe: Things Girls Should Know About Guys.(part 1) by blandyne(f): 7:02pm On Aug 02, 2009
worldleader:
1. Do not talk too much either in public or in private, Guys hate this.
2. Our actions don't always speak of our true nature. In other words, don't mistake our giving with love.
3. Exhibit that lady-like character in your lifestyle, it pulls us off our feet.
4. We love being the boss, so give us that respect.
5. Don't make the mistake of taking him out for shopping.Preferrably, give him the money while he takes you out for shopping.
6. Learn how to read the mind and mode of your guy, it helps to sustain a relationship.
7. Guys are very free and loose, keeping your man to yourself requires prayer and nothing else.
8.Always fight to keep your man cos your closest friend might just be his next babe and you his ex.
9. Do not pretend about your love for the koko(i.e sex) cos we know every.
10. Sex is not everything in a man's relationship but give it to him when he demands for it because he might demand the same from your best friend if you refuse.
11. Men are generous being but do not take their generosity for granted.
12. Too much make-up is bad, it only makes you look like a sex-toy or porn star in the sight of men.
13. It is necessary that you possess at least moderate arsenal(i.e ass) and manchester(i.e boobs) just like Beyonce, it attracts guys alot.
14. Always keep a beautiful and smooth skin especially your legs and face.
15.If you are ugly(i.e the extraordinary the wor-wor), i advice you seek the help of a pastor in getting your dream man because physical beauty is an attractive force though character counts but it is a pity it lies beneath beauty in the sight of all men.
16.A man that gives you a gift deserves and must demand something in return.Remember that the law of karma must take its cause.
17. Your call or text blows a guy off his feet, always do these regularly.
18. If you are in love with a guy show it but don't woo him.
19. Mind the kind of female friends you bring to your guy's bunk(home) cos men are not to be trusted likewise babes.
20. Do not always ask for money, gifts and transport fare(Portharcourt girls in particular). We know when you need these things, so allow us surprise you instead of asking.
21. The percentage of trust girls should have for men is as follows;
*20% trust(Before marriage)
*70% trust(After marriage)
*100% trust(In heaven).
That's the only part i agree with smiley smiley

FoodRe: Collard Green by blandyne(f): 8:45pm On Jul 31, 2009
Since i'm not a pork lover when cooking my collard greens i use smoked turkey neckbones. Unfortunately i don't have a recipe but i can tell you how i prepare it.
It's easy as 1 ,2,3 wink wink
_ Sauté some shoped onions in a little bit of olive oil ( u can use any other oil).

_ Add the smoked turkey neckbones.

_ Pour in some water ( can't tell you the amount, it depends of how many pieces you have)

_Add your seasonings ( personnally i don't put salt at all because the meat is already salty. U can use ground black pepper, red pepper flakes, garlic and herbs. Use any seasonnings that u like)

_ let it boil. When the meat halfway tender, remove them and put your collard greens in the pot. Then add the meat again and some more water.

_ Again let the greens boil with the meat. Once the greens are soft, they are done. Enjoy smiley smiley

p.s: Some people love to eat their collard greens soaked in the water or concoction that they were cooked in, personally i don't.

RomanceRe: Traditional Marriage ? by blandyne(op): 5:36pm On Jul 30, 2009
olanajim:
@poster,
if he has said that the wife flirt, that would have been understood. But for him to marry a woman who has husband, and the parents are aware, is a confusing scenerio.

But it is not impossible. There are cases of people marrying another partner after they seperated and live in different cities. One negative observation in traditional marriage is that either partner can walk out of it anytime! And when that happen, it is the elders, and parents that will come in to resolve it.

So, yes, a man and woman can walk out of the traditional marriage, but to divorce, only happen in court. Mark you, magistrate courts accept traditional marriage as legal. And the can disolve it.

May i ask you, why are you interested in him? Marriage, I supposed?
This is getting more confusing, i guess no one can explain this to me better besides him.

No, i'm not ready to get married yet even if he'd propose to me at this moment. We've been dating for a short period of time, it's better to know more about each other before going down that path even though i love him. Myself when dating a guy/having a boyfriend it's not for games or sex. To me it's getting to know more someone that i love, and of course to see if that person will be a good husband. I just don't want to be a big fool at the end, i was not raised that way meaning dating a married man. You know some men out there are very sneaky, they are dating other women while they have a wife and children cry cry. Just want to protect myself.
RomanceRe: Traditional Marriage ? by blandyne(op): 2:56pm On Jul 30, 2009
olanajim:
Well, in the olden day, and before the coming of European colonizers, traditional marriage is what we have in Africa. The only law guiding them are the law of the lands. Nothing specific, but it worked out fine. Once you have agreed to marry the person, and you are satisfied with one another.

Like someone said, in traditional marriage, there is no divorce. true, but it is not like that everywhere. each tribes has their rule governing marriage and they always stay faithful o them.

However, I must commend the taditionalists for one thing, they are able to maintained stable families long before we start witnessing western education. I still don't know how they did it. But we must admit that it worked. Perhaps the gods are very much alive during the period. If you hurt someone unjustly and divorce the wife, it may lead to life long tragedy to the offenders. I have read of this before.

However, traditional marriage is basically the formalisation of marital union by parents and the couples who then accepted to be man and woman for the rest of their lives. It has no legal backing (today) but in the the past it has spiritual backing!

if your man told you he had traditional marriage and is now divorced, you must sincerely ask him why he separated from the woman after promising to stay by her, Legal or traditional, you can know a faithful man by their ability to stick to the truth and by their words, you will know their minds. Let him tell you about the relationship and what went wrong. maybe he is telling the truth, maybe not. Only in asking him question can you know. Truly, if you marry him now, you will be the "legal" wife.
But what will being a legal wife be to you if you wake up one day and found that he was not being honest with you on why he separated from his ex? Your duty is to ensure that he is clean!
@ Olanajim
He divorced her because he found out she has another husband shocked shocked shocked. Which i don't understand anymore since from your explanation a traditional wedding it's a pact between both families. Does that mean her family received two bride-prices from two different men?
I once asked him to tell me more about this past relationship and he did not want to, he said talking about it and getting in too much details will make him mad, so i dropped the subject. I don't know how to make him talk to me about it.
Also, he's a yoruba does his state allow a divorce? Don't know what to think anymore undecided undecided

p.s: He told me his mother was looking for another woman for him after he and the lady went separate ways, but he didn't agree.
RomanceTraditional Marriage ? by blandyne(op): 6:03pm On Jul 29, 2009
Can someone please explain to me what exactly is a "traditional marriage in Nigeria"? My boyfriend told me he was married before and he was a traditional marriage, since i'm not nigerian i did not understand. He did kind of explain it to me but there are still blurs. He said even though he was living here in the U.S with his ex wife for about 7 years, the government didn't have them as a married couple on papers. On the other hand they were registered as being married in the state in Nigeria where he used to live in , don't remember the name of the state but he's a yoruba.

All i cared about is to know i he's still married or not. I asked him if he had a divorce and he said yes. I also ask him he goes back right now in Nigeria will they still considered him as a married man and he replied no. So i believed him and we are together now. As a woman i've never been burnt by men, but i do have siblings and friends that went trough worst kind of men. So this situation is raising a red flag. He swore to me that he's not married, i don't know if it's because of my ignorance of his culture, i need to know more. I just don't want to be a fool at the end. Since the marriage was not " legal" is he really divorced? Can you get a divorced from a traditional marriage ?
Dating And Meet-up ZoneRe: Your Most Embarrassing Date ~ Flaws & Errors by blandyne(f): 5:50pm On Jul 23, 2009
Last year, one of my best friend set me on a "blind date" with her husband's cousin. A day before our date night, i spoke to the guy over the phone and asked him where he was going to take me. He replied somewhere nice and that he's spontaneous so he cannot be more precise.
So next day, he picked me up around 7pm so we started talking. Then i realized that we were going in circles, since he wasn't familiar with my neighborhood i offer to help him with directions. He refused stating that he knows what he's doing. About 45 mns later, i got angry and told him to take me back home. Suddenly he says"that's the place". I was so shocked, all this time the guy was looking for a stupid DUNKIN DONUTS shocked shocked shocked angry angry angry How pathetic!!!!
I don't mind going out with a guy to get some coffee, I like that, don't have to go to dinner all the time, but don't tell me that you're spontaneous and all i got was to go to DUNKIN DONUTS, ridiculous. To make it worst, he had the nerves to call me the next day and ask me out again. What a loser!!!!!
