Recall that just recently the head of financial crime for the crypto firm Binance, Tigran Gambaryan, has maintained the $150m bribery allegation was true.

Recall that the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) says its operatives have uncovered a massive depot for large-scale dealings in expired and falsified drugs in Abia State, Nigeria’s South-east.

NAFDAC, in a statement said the fake and expired drugs were discovered inside multiple buildings in Umumeje, a community in Osisioma Ngwa Local Government Area of the state.

The agency said the premises of the multiple buildings were located close to the Ariaria International Market in Aba, the commercial hub of the state.

It said the buildings served as a hub for repackaging and revalidating expired medicines for resale.

Nigerian Pentecostal Christians will converge in Abuja for three days this week to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN).

This was disclosed by the Senior Pastor of the Dunamis International Gospel Centre (DIGC), Paul Enenche.

He said the anniversary conference will be held from 12 to 14 February.

PFN, founded in 1985, is a body of all Pentecostal churches and Christians in the country. It is one of the five blocs of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), the umbrella body of all Christians in Nigeria.

General Musa disclosed at the maiden annual lecture of the National Association of the Institute for Security Studies, that the Canadian embassy denied him and some members of his team visas to attend an event to honour war veterans in Canada.

‘Canada can go to hell’
Meanwhile, the National Security Adviser (NSA), Nuhu Ribadu has berated Canada for denying General Musa and other army chiefs visas.

“Even though it’s painful, it’s disrespectful, but we are peaceful and strong and I agree with you that it is time to fix our country. Yet, this is another reason we work hard to make Nigeria work.”

The NSA also commended Musa for providing “purposeful leadership” in the war against insecurity. He noted that all security agencies are collaborating across many parts of the country.

Speaking at the same event where the CDS narrated how he and other top military officers were denied visas, Ribadu also described it a disrespectful and said that Canada “can go to hell.”

“Thank you for the courage to say Canada denied you visas. They can go to hell,” Ribadu said.

The management of the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, has ordered a “full scale” investigation into an incident involving a student allegedly assaulting a lecturer during an altercation as seen in viral social media videos.

In a statement signed by its spokesperson, Njelita Louis, the university said it is taking the incident seriously and urged all concerned parties and members of the public to remain calm.

The statement said appropriate actions and sanctions will be taken based on the outcome of the investigation.
“In line with our core values of discipline, self-reliance, and excellence, and in adherence to the principles of fair hearing, equity, and justice, the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Joseph I. Ikechebelu, has ordered a full-scale, transparent, and unbiased investigation into the matter,” the statement reads in part.

“Nnamdi Azikiwe University remains an institution of learning that upholds high moral and ethical standards. There is no place for indiscipline, misconduct, or any form of unacceptable behaviour within our community.”

An influential Labour Party stalwart in Enugu State, Barr Emeka Abah, weekend, said efforts were ongoing to merge the LP structure in Enugu North senatorial zone of the state with the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.

Abah, an Abuja-based lawyer, stated this weekend at Obollo-Afor, headquarters of Udenu LGA, when he led some LP ward chairmen and other stakeholders, as well as staunch members of the Peoples Democratic Party to formally join APC.

He assured of the replication of the success story of the Labour Party in Enugu North zone during the 2023 general elections where the party defeated a sitting governor in the senatorial election, and won most of the House of Representatives and state Assembly seats.

In his words, “We have work to do, which is to unseat the sitting governor. We must plan ahead and synergise. We should not look at money, but at the end of the tunnel. We shall amalgamate LP structures of Nsukka cultural zone with APC, and advance to the Enugu West zone and achieve the same thing. We won most of the seats during the last election, but our candidates were not proper ones. That is why they are decamping.”

The Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, Chief Uche Nnaji, who was present at the decamping, called on Enugu people to join the national party, saying President Bola Tinubu is doing a lot in Southeast, and deserves support. He decried what he called over-taxation in Enugu State.
