I think most Nigerians really need to get sense one way or the other.

This sentence from you is the solution to your problem. I've encountered people like her and unfortunately I have have a close family member like that too ( a grown man o). She has a spiritual void that she thinks she can fill by following those who can "prophecy" or who claim to see into the spirit realm and know the solution to things . I'm betting that she's the type who will fall for anything anybody tells her as long as the person can display some spiritual acrobatics. This is what you will do

1) Let her realize what it's doing to her and you as a couple and as individuals. The truth is that any body you willing submit yourself too in spiritual matters will also have a form of influence over your future (experience talking here) . Make her to learn the scriptures for herself and by herself. Tell her to stay praying all those binding and loosing prayers and tell her to start doing all those daily declarations. I'm sure you can get good ones on some sites or even nairaland here. YOU MUST BECOME HER PRIEST! YOU HAVE TO TAKE THIS SERIOUSLY! You must be very firm and serious with it ( she doesn't currently see you as a spiritual authority). You can start once in a week vigil where you will be the one coordinating prayers and prophecy. I repeat again, you must take this seriously!! You have to develop a spiritual side too to checkmate the influence of these conmen fronting as clergy

2) This is the tricky one. You must start to dish out your own spiritual acrobatics too. A lot of people don't really know how religion and mysticism work and they fall for it easily. I won't teach you how to do this but I can teach you how to identify a faker

Meanwhile she was trekkiilng everywhere o b4 receiving the car. Obvioudly both women were spiritually naive and the scammers took full advantage of them. If you don't want your girl ending up like that, you need to take this seriously

Your friend sounds like a whimp. I was like that too till I learnt that you have to be firm and tough to survive in Nigeria. I
once experienced this as a low self-esteemed 17 yr old. I heard God telling me one of them had a charm in his pocket (he claimed he had a herbal product to show us worth 500K and he'll give me and his accomplice 10k each if we accompanied him to where he could sell it). He dipped his hand into his pocket to show us the product, then I heard the voice, so I immediately lunged at him (Thank God for superb reflexes). He got scared and and lost balance, tho I didn't make contact. His accomplice was shocked to say the least coz my reaction was totally unanticipated, even by me. After he lost balance and staggered, there was this dead silence and confusing atmosphere. His accomplice was very tall and muscular while he was also tall but thin. I later realized what was happening and feigned a very great deal of anger while I was scared and terrified inwardly. Nothing prevented those guys from beating up and dragging me away. What if I was kidnapped and raped? ( Gays no get joy o)and to think that I was alone in an area I've never been too!! . In all sha, I've learnt to never answer any one asking me questions in the streets.

About hating my own yoruba brothers who are Muslim, nothing can be farther from the truth. I admit I am caught up between being politically correct and the threats of extremism in our backyard. Unless we want to deceive ourselves, we have radical elements in yorubaland and the faster we uproot them, the better. People like ishaq oloyede, Prof. Akintola of Muric, the Barr. Shittu of Min. of Comm. are well known extremists who are tearing at the seams of Yoruba unity. You can’t expect us all to shut up and soak it in just to project an image of religious harmony. How long does it take an average Muslim to pick up bombs? We might say it won’t happen in yorubaland, but that’s what northerners were saying less than 10 years ago.

As Yorubas, we are obligated to call out extremism wherever it rears its ugly head in our land. In the aspect of tolerance, we have many muslims in yorubaland who are loved by all because they have been liberal, and inclusive in leadership:Tinubu, Fashola, Amosun, Ajimobi, Pa Akande and many, many more. I can’t hate Muslims because they are all around me, where will I run to if I instigate religious strife in yorubaland?

As for the allegations of siding with Igbos when they show hate to our Muslim brethren, I admit I have had moments of indiscretion, which is largely due to the way some of our Muslim brother display fanatical and cult like supper Buhari and APC just because of faith. They have abrogated to themselves the duty to mow down and subjugate Nigerians of other faith just because they think a fellow Muslim is in power. This is why it seems the igbos are making inroads with their “Yoruba Muslim” taunt. Ti ogiri o ba lanu, alangba ole wo ogiri. They have seen that there is a divide rearing it’s head and true to their nature, igbos have pounced on it to destabilize us. But they can’t succeed and they know it, they only try. We won’t be divided on religious basis in yorubaland. But we urgently need to crack down on extremists on both sides of the divide—especially Muslims.

These things should give any Christian of sound mind a clue of what the future will look like.
