It is no lie. It is impossible for a non-indigene to get a contract and execute in Niger Delta. In fact it is easier for an Akwaibomite to get a job in Zamfara than in a Bayelsa community. Even after buying the job from the indigene you must employ indigenes for job execution at a very high price while they relegate the jobs at lower prices to Igbos and Akwaibomites.

You're just talking abt contracts, why can't our people give out these contracts? The oil fields are in the Niger Delta, and administered from Lagos which then means if i studied and graduated from a school in the Niger Delta I'll have to move over to Lagos to wait for whenever there are job openings in an oil field that is in my village before i'll have a chance to work there. With the level of tribalism in this country?

You are so wrong. At administrative level maybe but in terms of recruitments, contracts and welfare indigenes get 90% if not 100%. I am fully grounded and not writing based on hearsay.

Thats a complete lie. Niger Deltans get all the jobs but resell them to other Nigerians willing to work. They prefer selling to Yoruba than Igbo but Igbos offer better amount and conditions. The oil firms in these communities are owned by hausa's and run by yoruba's with high level nepotism even when there are more qualified indigenes... When they complain, the companies give them menial jobs like cleaners and security(a good example is the Chevron staffs that were recently kidnapped).

Yes no group fights a govt and win that is why they have adopted the guerilla method of warfare which is more like a hit and run method and trust me the whole planning process and execution is very tactical. Remember you cannot put soldiers to man the perimeter of the pipelines in the Niger Delta.And production has dropped by 50% by the time they continue blowing more pipelines the production would have dropped to 20% so i think dialogue still remains the best option.

This is the issue: GEJ was there for five years. Niger Deltans, elders, militants etc turned Aso Rock to Hostel. They knew these oil blocks palaver. They took their own personal shares, looted individually with Jona but, what will benefit the entire region was never discussed.
And you think it is now that easy to discuss it? That is where we have big issue...We always delay what we can all cry about until it wears tribal lens...
