She needs to really let him go not necessarily for him but for herself.
As far as I'm concerned, she is still bound. She needs to fully heal.

I sympathise with all those who have been true a rape trauma.

Sure! Would explore this option. My fear was their form of business isn't easily quantifiable and any repayment plan enacted by court would be based on any monthly income he declares which would make the whole thing messier.

Exactly. Don't even bother him again. Talk to a lawyer friend of urs, tell the lawyer you want a court Order and tell him how u want it. He won't see it coming.

starbBonny:
the police should go ahead and get him rearressted? On first arrest, their union opined that he isn’t a registered member and the mallam doesn’t seem to have any seizable asset.

The police already did the best they usually do. If u push further, you may end up at court which most likely means bye bye to the money or prolonged payment agreement.

Just use the court order approach @ OP
Business / Re: Can I Still Get Back My MONEY From This Fraudelent BDC Mallam? by Bloomyloo: 7:10pm On Mar 31, 2018
starbBonny:
Hi Nairalanders,

I am a web developer and digital marketer with a few digital assets. Normally I do make monthly withdrawal of USD from my Dom account over the counter until the then-policy that restricted such withdrawals.

I contacted a friend of mine that linked me to an alhaji that accepts USD interbank transfer, and then sends the Naira equivalent to the given bank account detail. We did about three successful transaction successively until the policy reverse.

Some months later, we got in touch again, and this time around I have over 3k USD and he assured me of swift transaction: Swearing that he's in the bank already, just waiting for the alert.

To shorten the boring details; he got the alert and should have deposited well-over a million Naira to my account, but that didn't happen. The alert I got was a poor fraction of the sum: He still had the huge part of it (about a million Naira).

When I notified him of it, he promised to rectify the challenge, but that never happened. We met and contracted a repayment agreement (with just a witness), but he defaulted. I involved force persons, he paid another fraction and still defaulted on the several agreements.

I'm lost of ideas on how best to retrieve my money as so much has been wasted already and he still has a good sum hanging in his hand with only cock and bull stories to give.

The first and second police arrest didn't yield many-a-positive results and I'm in doubt of the third. What's the best method to retrieve my money considering that – for so many months he's yet to pay the monthly fraction he pledged with the police and the whole thing is getting longer than normal?

N/B I skipped some details (that could be provided on request) and his location is Lagos while mine is SS

I'm willing to explore all ideas (including loosing some fraction) as long as they're going to yield a quick & positive result.

Get a court order, freeze the account and any other account linked to his BVN on the grounds that he may have defrauded other people. He will come crawling to you as he will be helpless. Then u can demand to be paid with interest

Career / Re: 5 Reasons It Is Better To Work In Lagos Than Abuja by Bloomyloo: 1:02pm On Mar 22, 2018
LeOstrich:
[s][/s]

Accomodation is far cheaper in Abuja than Lagos. There are suburbs that you will still get descent accommodation under 400k for a 2 bedroom flat and if you factor security. road network and general serenity, Abuja trumps Lagos. How much is a flat in Egbeda going for now? 500-600K!

Abuja has the best road network in Nigeria and transportation in Abuja is far cheaper than Lagos. You can get a drop from Kubwa to the Airport for 2,500k - a distance of more than 50km! That is twice the distance from Oshodi to Apapa. How much does it cost to take a drop from Apapa to V.I? Or those your useless wooden chair danfos that cost about 400 naira from Allen to Obalende?

Abuja may not have a high density of oloshos but olosho still dey and far better than those smelly Lagos girls. Because I know what you meant by night life you are referring to Olosho joints.

Boys come to Abuja and become Men. Property business is booming and virtually any other venture. If you want a 9-5 remain in your urban jungle

I've had this argument countless times with my friends.
Cost of living in Abuja is cheaper that Lagos when we consider the basic necessities of life:

Food: Raw and healthy food/Fruits is cheaper and fresher in Abuja. Lagos has more cheap and tasteless Iyabasira joints, agreed, but in Abj, it's all fresh and u cook to your taste. (Excluding Igbo ingredients).

Housing: in Abj, you either live in the suburbs or in town, however, I consider their houses cheap. If u find a house for 300k, with 330k you can close the deal. 10% commission and you pack in. In Lagos, Landlord tells u 300k, pls budget 700k cus by the time they do all those agency and commission and all those trash maths for u, u will be wrecked pocket wise.

Transport:. Good road network in Abj, cheap and affordable cab service, decent none-Uber cabs.

The only cheap thing in Lag is commodities like clothing, shoes and all those ready made stuff cus of Port and industry presence.

I've lived in both places, I'm currently in Lag and the difference is clear

He should do what he feels like doing.

You can just resist the temptation to comment if you have nothing meaningful to say.

@ OP, maybe ur friend can begin to keep video records of various moments of her irrational behavior. Something he could show the court when the time is right.
He can also file for custody in the process, on the grounds that she is mentally unstable and unfit to train a child.

HolyHero:

21 Laws From Around the World That Have No
Reasoning Behind Them
There are some incredibly odd laws that have
sprung up across the globe.
1. A married woman is only allowed to have one
glass of wine in La Paz, Bolivia.
2. Chewing gum in the entire country of Singapore
is illegal.
3. No sex on the steps of a church at night in
Birmingham, Alabama.
4. Capri, Italy has a ban on "noisy footwear." No
flip-flops or squeaky shoes.
5. There's a hot spring in Swaziland called Cuddle
Puddle, and it's ONLY for cuddling. No making love
in there.
6. Melbourne, Australia has a ban on men wearing
strapless gowns in public.
7. A town in Alberta recently outlawed all swearing,
yelling and spitting. One step away from being the
town from Footloose.
8. No shooting open tin cans in Spades, Indiana.
9. Kissing in a moving vehicle in Eboli, Italy? Get
ready to pay a 415 Euro fine.
10. It's illegal to slurp soup in a restaurant in New
Jersey.
11. If you make an ugly face at a dog in Oklahoma,
you can go to jail.
12. You can't ride an ugly horse in Wilbur,
Washington.
13. In Hartford, Connecticut you are not allowed to
teach any dog anything.
14. You can be fined if you wink at a woman in
Ottumwa, Iowa.
15. Barbados has outlawed wearing camouflage for
anyone unless you're in their drug and defense
forces.
16. If you're ice skating in Frankfurt, you better
stay below the speed limit of 50 miles per hour.
17. Sorry anyone in Britain, you can't sell cooked
tripe in the country. Raw is good to go.
18. If you're working at a cheese factory in Ferrara,
Italy, it's illegal to fall asleep in a cheese factory.
19. A woman is only allowed to skydive in Florida
on a Sunday if she is married.
20. If you want to cary your violin down the street
in Salt Lake City, you better not have it in a paper
bag.
21. In Iran it's legal to have sex with a
domesticated animal, but illegal to have sex with
wild animals..

That number 21, Total madness.
No wonder the would never have peace but continuous war...
