[s] rosskiti: Can you people see the dumb cretin I'm debating with?
This doesn't even warrant a response.
Errm.... every country on earth grows by the use of local and foreign investors, you brainless little donkey.
But foreign investors do NOT com if there is nothing but bush in your country, which was the case under colonialism. with near zero infrastructure and mass illiteracy.
The reason foreign investors can enter Nigeria today is that the post-independence BLACK NIGERIAN LEADERS invested in education and infrastructure, and built an economy that went beyond the subsistence farming left by the colonialists.
See how desperate this shameless slave is to defend the colonial looters?
Are we sure you're even a Nigerian?
You sure you're not a white boy?
Because if you're black or African, you'e a truly disgusting, repulsive specimen. [/s] Lol what's wrong with this mumu. Thats why the America can unlease terror on you then you idiotly by their weapons. 95% of your family were illiterate peasants farmers because the British didnt teach you how to read. [s] rosskiti: Under colonial rule, 95% of Nigerians were illiterate village peasant farmers. MEANING THAT YOU would have been among those illiterate peasants today.
The reason you are not is that BLACK NIGERIAN LEADERS who0 toppled the colonialists have managed to mechanize agriculture to a considerable extent, freeing up the population to engage in other pursuits without it leading to mass starvation.
BLACK NIGERIAN LEADERS have also introduced other forms of earning a living, such as manufacturing, the services, Information Technology, and entrepreneurship/commerce.
So, everyday you wake up, you dumbass cretin, THANK YOUR LUCKY STARS FOR BLACK RULE. [/s] Mumu youre a terrible liar but that's your culture. 95% of your family must been illiterate mumus Famers during colonialism. Nigeria's illiteracy rate was no near 95% dumb liar. In 1960 the literary rate was somewhere at 50%. Lol mumu the african leaders didnt do squat without help from foreign investors. Nigeria oil production is clear example before that Nigeria was more of agricultural based economy than it is now. Keep telling more lies only a 5 year old would believe. |

Vlain: Will the industrial city just entail industries alone? Or will it incorporate a mixed -used development for commercial spaces, retails spaces, residentials, offices spaces, parks resorts, hotels e.t.c Yes there's will be on Tom Shot Island. Vlain: The industrial city is tied on the back of the deep-sea-port. They should make the industrial city a free trade zone that exempt all investors, businesses from tax. That way more investment will flow there quickly and faster. But before that the govt will have to fix electricity in that axis. Even if it has to be a private power station power only the industrial area. It has to be 24/7 and very reliable. It is a FTZ. I concure with electricity comments. |

Ilaumoh: Bro the truth is Udom wanted by all means to be the one building that seaport and what have discovered is that he only prioritise industries not road and all that.. 4 project Udom loves very much and keep talking about it are Aviation, Ibom Deep Seaport, Ibom Blue science Park and coconut refinery all industries. You won't hear him saying anything about road construction so becos of that a common man in the street become angry over the space of work in road construction forgetting that each administration as what they prioritize so well. Secondly Udom wanted to be careful it the construction of the super highway becos tagt was still part of the seaport project package which was tie to the approval of the Deep Seaport. I will kindly advice we see what he will do now that the seaport as been approved, let give him some time.. Lol Udom is constantly campaigning with little to show in industry. The unemployment rate wouldn't be so high if that were case. You do hear him talking about roads alot dont you remember his campaigns 1700km of roads and 35 bridges constructed. We know his excuse for not completing super highway to we simply disagree with decision. The state would still collect some revenue from tolls and it would be one less thing to do.

rollingrocks: We all knew that the approval was coming, federal minister of transport was always saying it. Without that super highway, no construction at the seaport can happen, all the building materials will go through there. Don't give excuses for them. If the money available is not enough for 12 lanes, they can start with four lanes and expand later. These guys don't think things through. Eg. Udom is doing third ring road, no section has been completed, the question I ask is is why didn't they do it in sections, akar oad- to oron Road first for example, for people to derive some benefits rather than messing the whole stretch up and it will not still be completed in 2023 at the pace they are going. I didnt give excuses for them I agreed with you regarding the super highway. According to the minister 15km has already been completed. Are you saying the minister is lying? Other than that they shouldn't have dragged it out though. They would still collect tolls either way. He explained that the state government decided to slow down after 15 out of 55.1 kilometers of the road had been done when it observed the refusal of Federal Government to give approval for the construction of the Ibom Deep Seaport as the road was initiated for the seaport operations and the proposed Ibom Industrial city. |

rollingrocks: I am not usually excited especially when it involves the FG until I see it with my eyes happening. At the state level, was the Super Highway not approved How far? I am particularly not impressed with Udom, and how he is managing the state. I was so disappointed when I visited. So disappointed!!! Everywhere is so disorganised. Yeah I agree the state moves like a tortoise. The super highway could have been completed but they intentionally decided to delay it because they didnt get approval sooner. The delay in construction for the seaport was the FG not approving the work until now. That's an excuse I can charitably give them. If the cash is available why would the goverments involved delay construction until 2023. ‘The Ibom Super Highway project did not stop in 2018. The funding of the project stopped in 2019. It was when we observed the reluctance of the Federal Government to give us the necessary approval for Ibom Deep Seaport we decided to slow down.
“The state government believed it was more critical for us to persuade the Federal Government and get approval for the construction of the deep seaport first. This is because if we don’t build the deep seaport the 55.1kilometer Super Highway is not economically viable to sustain.

But with that said, Buhari administration has been excellent with infrastructure. The appointment arguement has been debunked already. Dont you know the goalposts has been shifted to "strategic appointments"? The document, seen by our reporter, revealed that people from the South West constitute 33.7 per cent of those engaged by the president as ministers and aides.
This is followed by people from the North West, 19.5 per cent; North East, 15.3 per cent; South South, 12.6 per cent; North Central, 11.1 per cent and South East, 7.9 per cent.

Akwa Ibom currently selling plots of land for that purpose. Refer to the industrial city website. The land uses illustrated were informed by the Market Study and a strong desire for such plots has already driven interest for developments. If you would like to reserve a plot within Ibom Industrial City, please contact us here.
The residential, mixed, use, civic and educational facilities are concentrated within city, district and neighbourhood centres, with the heavy industrial and logistics land uses located predominately around the Ibom Deep Sea Port. To the northeast and northwest of the residential areas and city centre are light industrial zones. Proposed road and rail links ensure the site is well-connected.

The port just needs a north south rail line and it will be perfect. It's preferable the cargo moves on rails than roads so the city wont be too congested. Akwa Ibom will probably need to redesign their master plan. There are no existing railway lines in Akwa Ibom State. However, the Port Harcourt-Nguru line runs to the west of the state with the closest connection point being at Aba. The Master Plan for Nigeria Railway System Development adopted in 2010 proposed the modernisation of all existing lines and a number of new lines. The Master Plan proposals included a new line between Calabar and Benin via Uyo, Aba and Port Harcourt, with possible extension to Lagos, and a Calabar-Uyo-Umuahia line. A Memorandum of Understanding has been signed with the China Civil Engineering Construction Company for the construction of the Lagos- Calabar line, with the Port Harcourt- Uyo-Calabar section expected to be operational within two to three years. The current position with regards to the rehabilitation of the Port Harcourt- Maiduguri line, which is identified as a short-term priority in the NIIMP, is not known. Upgrading of this line to standard gauge will be important to maximising the benefits of rail connection to the Industrial City by providing through standard gauge connections to the north of the country.

Lol let's see what the next unemployment report will say about Akwa Ibom. Right now its the second worst in the country at 45.2%. If they're not exaggerating the jobs numbers there should see a major drop. The state should be focusing all it's attention to attrating private sector investors to the industrial city complementing the port and Oil and Gas Free zone. |
