One of thereasons why people are making money from teh NSE is the unlevel playing field. And it only spells doom for all of us.Once people atrt losing confidence in the market then there will be problems.SEC needs to start acting fast.

Samstone no surprise say people never get their money back o.I bought in 2  installments from 2 different braches in Abuja.I have received my returned money for the first one but for teh second one no show.I went to First Registrars in Lagos,I was told my name was not on ANY list.I went back to the branch i bought it from and my name was on their system as duly paid.To cut a long story short, last week I had to write a stinking letter to the MD of FirstBank almost calling him a petty thief.I copied the branch,First registrars and SEC.I got a phone call almost immediately from First Bank that they will solve the issue and get back to me latest this week.

I have called them today and it appears -

1.Either the money was not remitted to First Registrars or

2.Someone seeing my name twice with the same amount of money must have thought it was a mistake and deleted one

3.Or on seeing my name twice decided to pocket one for himself grin

I have been informed investigators have been called.Don't take no for an answer.Chase your FBN money well well if you never get am.The longer you wait the worse it will become.

As for SEC they are useless.Imagine if it was Ribadu that was in SEC.

Aktopgun,
I dey see Unionhomes o.I don re-enter am today for a fast CICO.The trick to a good CICO for me is to load a substantial amount of Kgs.

ABC make another 5 percent today.Something is definately brewing, considering that just some weeks ago ,they were trading upto 80 million stocks daily. Now 5 million na die.I still hold my own well well.No shaking!

Oasis wey I sell on Friday still dey climb.

IEI dey do like drunking master for Bruce Lee film.God dey. That one don turn to medium to long term for me.

I don see one stock wey go good for CICO.The thing don bottom out for some time.I guess profit takers.I go try Link the stock tomorrow.

Is the rumour on Deap Capital's PO true?

I never offer bribes to my broker, but the kind of effect I have on them is so strong. As soon as I stroll into his office, there will be this mild excitement as if Aliko himself has walked in grin This is because i have discovered how to cultivate them, in their free time, i could turn to a stand up comedian, dishing out rib cracking jokes and all. I also bring along some snacks (mr biggs sometimes) grin I also attend their personal ceremonies like marriages, naming ceremonies etc. They also attend mine. It will be difficult for them to forget me.

Make your broker your friend and you will enjoy him or her. The mistake most of us make is to walk into our brokers offices and look down on them because we think we are superior to them. We expect them to bow down and worship us and our millions.

Find your way around your broker, your portfolio will be smiling always grin grin grin
When will we reach the stage of development ,where people will do their jobs and not expect anything other than their salaries?

Re: Ogebe elevation to Supreme Court and independence of judiciary.

Another aspect to be considered is who of the three contenders for the presidency is most likely to have the money and be likely to bribe the judges. I don't think it is Yaradua. So if the decision were to be in Yaradua's favour, it might actually indicate the independence of Justice Ogebe. Once he is appointed to the supreme court it is extremely difficult for the President to remove him.

It seems to me that although there were widespread irregularities in the Presidential election there were not enough to swing the result from Yaradua to either of the challengers.

@Wanajo

I get your point about Orient PP especially the fact that the previous effort by Intercontinental failed. Also of concern is the fact that Anyaoku(Chairman), Ekweme(Vice-Chairman) etc do not have shares in the company.
However, it is noteworthy that the Chinese financiers have approved the loan for about 85% of the total cost. That was a major consideration of mine in investing.

Samstone4 cool cool
", Under the law, Ogebe has ceased to be the chairman or member of that tribunal. In order words, morally or legally, His Lordship ought to withdraw from the tribunal. Morally, whichever way the judgment goes, motivations will be read to it. Legally, once a trial judge is appointed to an appellate court, the moment that appointment is made, he ceases to function in the former court”, he said.
Citing a similar case, Falana said in the Supreme Court case of Ogbonyiya vs Obi Okudo, the Hon. Justice Philip Nnaemeka-Agwu was appointed to the Court of Appeal on the 15th of June 1977 and “two days later, on June 17th, he read a judgment in a case which he had concluded. The judgment was set aside by the Supreme Court, notwithstanding that he has not been sworn-in as Judge of the Court of Appeal because the moment his appointment was made; he is no longer a member of that court.
“If Justice Ogebe goes ahead with the judgment on Tuesday, either of the parties involved may make his further participation a ground of appeal in the Supreme Court, "

Yaradua is very smart. As someone who knows Ogebe personally,he is a committed and strong christian who is only interested in the truth and justice.A very frugal man, upright to the core.By elavating him to the Supreme Court Yaradua has created a ground for appeal in the evnt the Tribunal rules against him.Rumour has it that the tribunal will still go ahead and cancel the elections.
CrimeNigerian Footballer Sent To Jail For Raping Daughter! by blueband(op): 9:25pm On Feb 23, 2008
Okpara sentenced to jail for rape

Okpara was sentenced to 10 years, his wife to 15.
Nigerian former football international Godwin Okpara faces 10 years in a French jail for the rape, torture and enslavement of his adopted daughter.
His wife Linda was sentenced to 15 years. The couple had denied all the charges against them. They are expected to appeal against the sentences.

The court heard that the abuse was carried out at the family home in Chatou, west of Paris.

The adopted daughter had arrived in France as a young girl in 2000.

Okpara, 35, admitted to having sex with the adopted daughter, then 13, on one occasion in 2005. But he said it was at her instigation.

The daughter testified in court that it was after discovering the pair together that Linda Okpara, 42, began mistreating her - torturing her and subjecting her to cruel sexual acts.

'Inhumane conditions'

The daughter also told the court she was not allowed to go to school and was forced to carry out menial housework. Nights were spent sleeping on the basement floor on a damp mattress, she said.

Prosecutors said the couple colluded with an aunt of Linda Okpara to keep the daughter in inhumane living conditions.

The aunt was sentenced to 18 months in prison for failing to prevent the crimes being carried out.

Okpara played for French sides Strasbourg and Paris St Germain.
