I am waiting for the official INEC announcement of Benue, Taraba or Adamawa. If Buhari wins just one of these, then I would be 100% confident enough to declare the President of Nigeria without an inch of doubt.

I am from Benue and Buhari is winning Benue with about 80,000 votes.Three more local governments to go and they are all Akume's local Governments. So Buhari will win Benue

Open outcry is the name of a method of communication between professionals on a stock exchange or futures exchange which involves shouting and the use of hand signals to transfer information primarily about buy and sell orders.[1]
Examples of markets which use this system in the United States are the New York Mercantile Exchange, the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, the Chicago Board of Trade, the Chicago Board Options Exchange, and the Minneapolis Grain Exchange (MGEX). In the United Kingdom, the London Metal Exchange still makes use of open outcry.
The open outcry system is being replaced by electronic systems (CATS and Globex). The supporters of electronic trading claim that they are faster, cheaper, more efficient for users, and less prone to manipulation by market makers and broker/dealers. However, many traders advocate for the open outcry system on the basis that the physical contact allows traders to speculate as to a buyer/seller's motives or intentions and adjust their positions accordingl

Interesting read does not look good for WEMAITES though.

Very interesting !Read between the lines. It says Banks are withdrawing money to balance their end of year accounts.Meaning that banks are heavily involved in speculations as well.Hmmmm, could this be the time to actually sell off and take position in some other stocks?

SavvyLanre:

Cashthieves won a case in court recently,  i read somewhere.
But, does anyone know - if this would change anything?

Cashcraft did not win a case. They sold 9,000units of Mobil shares for a client without authorization.NSE ordered them to pay the guy 50% of the share value.Meaning-they paid the guy 50% extra in addition to his shares they sold. The guy was not satisfied and he took the MD and another senior partner of CAshcraft to the Stockbrokers Institute to get them decertified. The Institute ruled that the MD of CAshcraft was not directly responsible for the sale of the shares.Meaning the actual stockbroker who sold the shares on behalf of cashcraft should have been the one sued.

Is it just me or are the peeps at NSE and those at SEC on a power tussle
I guess this na naija

Like I said earlier on,a policeman does not need to inform a suspected thief's father that he is investigating him.In this situation,NSE should have at least suspended the shares of the affected companies and then clarify issues with SEC.We are seeing a trend where SEC raises issues against a company and the company shares start losing value, yet the NSE pretends SEC does not exist.I guess if this was Transcorp their shares would have been placed on TS.

Thanks.

You are doing the last thing first. You should have found out about the company before going into it.Cos now, people ll be cautious in advising you so that you wont end up having an unhappy holiday.I also bought into it,though higher than you ,I have moved it into my long term portfolio though.

Temmie10:

Sterling bank and Ecobank are good medium to long term.
The details of the merger should be out in April, only then will u know if they are good short term.
Without being rude, only a magician can answer that 16 naira question cool

CrazyT
why do u want to risk FirstAl at its current price?
You can have a look at Law union, its got good growth rate, extra 2.5 billion in cap funds, big in energy insurance, majority owned by skye bank, partner with royal sun alliance in the uk and they are doing a po this year and its nominal value is less than First Al that is still declaring losses. and with the bashing its been taking recently, it is becoming a "fundamental cico" hmmm 'fundamental cico', i'd like to patent that

@Temmie-There are so many magicians on Nairaland o. grin

I have both legs and hands into this one-Sterling/Ecobank.Its a huge gamble but we will know next month when they announce their merger or "unmerger".

All those who are fretting about the drop in price of ABC have nothing to fear as the company has fundamentals to take the price beyond the 15naira mark before November. It's only those hell bent on CICOing that need to worry a bit

IEI don reach 6.60kobo.Wondering if I should sell now as I have made my investment back with some small change.Airservice for those of you who entered for CICO last week, guess you are smiling to the banks now. From 23 naira to 27 naira in a week. That one was a "mistake" buy by my broker but nothing spoil. Is Unhomes going to break it's all time high of 10 naira?Proshare seems to suggest this. That is a stock I have moved to medium term.Lets see what then end of year results have in stock.

Quote from a sister site;

Between Monday ( last week) and yesterday (monday), Bear Stearns stock price crashed from $70 to $2 because of issues from bad motgage debts. In the NSE, it would have closed at $200 by yesterday, I know

my friend i wish Bear Stearn can come to NSE with that $2, and let give it that two weeks, not only $70 it will rise to but that $200 , even with that huge loss, who cares in NSE investors.

My 2 naira-with SEC sitting up now is the era of CICO gradually coming to an end?Something must be wrong with the NSE for dead companies and companies that declare losses to see their share price rise, sometimes by 1000 percent.

@blueband

Your seems to be a goodman. Don't mind them jor!

Seriously, my eyes just caught your signature where you warned of cashcraft.
Please I am interested because all my hard-earn stocks are all in their custody.
Please give me a detailed reason for this your remark so that I will reconsider my stand.
When well experienced and more exposed guys like you make a remark, one needs to take it seriously.
I will be very glad if you honour my request.
God bless you

grin grin grin grin. Thanks for the compliements.Honour your request?Abeg I no be guru neither am I experienced.CAshcraft has been very bad to me ,walahi, make I no lie. They sold my shares without permission, they bought shares for me on overdraft when I no send them message. They then sold the shares below the value they bought for me and still charged me commission.I am still sorting that one out.Now to get my money out is taking forever. While people like pumping and Fatherof2 wan make me millionaire,CAshcraft are keen on sabotaging this genuine effort to help an aspiring young man.

But if you are already with them and they meet your needs by all means remain there.
