SportsRe: Fifa Give Nigeria 48 Hours Ultimatum To Reverse Ban. by blueflame1: 5:33pm On Jul 02, 2010
And I thought our leaders where dumb? It seems the average Nigerian is very dumb, which conforms with the long held believe that a country deserves the leadership it gets, cos it is from amongst the people the leaders come from.

Those who support Jonathan banning the team for 2 yrs please tell me:

* The process whereby the ban would lead to a better team in future
* An example were it worked in any country

For those shouting about sovereignty, including the dumb Bio, please tell me

* What has sovereignty got to do with football?
* Who is arguing that Nigeria is not a sovereign country
* How does Fifa being the football governing body threaten Nigeria's sovereignty by following the letter of its statutes and rules
* Giving capacity and experience Italy, France and maybe England did as bad why aint we getting that much drama from any of these countries

Truly speaking Jonathan's Move is more about politics than an altruistic desire to solve our footballing problems, if not what makes it so difficult to prosecute the entire NFF board for corruption using the lawful process of the country?

An option the Fifa president even suggested after the PTF tried to lobby him.

If Jonathan can stop Ogbularfo PDP Chairman what stops him from doing same to an ordinary NFF chairman?

The proposed building of a football house is it an opportunity to further squander money or did the PTF actually recommend that to be the problem with Nigerian football?

And does saying Fifa would ban us for 2yrs are u sure it would be 2 yrs? what if it is indefinite? or 10yrs

Do u realize the ban would include our football league from participating in continental club competitions? Under 17, 21, olympics, ANC, etc

James Ibori was arrested on a pre-existing British International warrant. Good for him and I hope his extradition process to the UK is successful.

The Nigerian Govt has no interest or moral right to prosecute big thieves and it is obvious they are not interested in that , they are only interested in making deals and gaining political capital.

In the past prosecuting public looters in naija has proven to be a joke. Elders and his political associates would end up begging for him, a lot of money would change hands and political concessions made with him going free like Alamieyesiegha, Tafa Balogun, Igbinedion etc

Lets see what would come out of the Ogbulafor case now the Govt have had their political concession from him.

Please 'fellow country men', do not be deceived, open your eyes.

PoliticsRe: Nigeria Why Hate The Truth - Fg Protests Bbc Documentary On Lagos by blueflame1: 3:35am On Apr 28, 2010
The documentary was about the slums of lagos not about Fashola or any politicians good or bad works.

Lagos was not portrayed as a slum, a slum within lagos was shown.

If we think the slum is despicable, the best thing to do is clear the slum, turn it to a modern industrial or residential site and do a documentary. U can call ur documentary from slum to paradise or whatever, so long as u touch the lives of people, we would be happy and the world would be impressed.

All those criticising the documentary, u need to wake up, the objective was achieved, similar documentaries have been shown about India, China, Britain, USA etc and are still aired on history and documentary channels, the difference is that the respective govts act to change the situation once the awareness is created.

We need to think reasonably, act civilised and live in the modern world.

The TV Broadcast has been made; the transcript is below:

Fellow Nigerians, I, President Umaru Yar'Adua,

I have for months been called a weak President.

Let me tell you Nigerians, I am not weak as you all think! I am doing something for Nigerians.

Yesterday for example, I managed to attend my village wrestling competition in Katsina State. My fellow Nigerians, a President who does all these, is he a weak President?

You Nigerians should not test my patience, whether you have good luck or not; I would warn u not to test me! The last time I challenged Nigerians to a game of Squash none of u came out! So keep ur peace and take orders from Turai, cos who has seen or heard the voice of Turai has heard from me!

please help me tell them, and sink it into their brains! True talk my brother, true talk kiss If everybody know leaves/decides to leave how will these place advance? We have a horrible orientation in Nigeria
So the right orientation should be: Every Nigerian should remain in Nigeria and Nigeria would develop?

A great country has all types, the expatriates, ambassadors, adventurers, scientists, politicians etc

Those that have failed and continue to fail the country are those whose responsibility it is to rule the nation, they are well paid with great benefits and should perform for what they r being paid for.

I guess u r not insinuating that the ambassador to Kuwait or the expatriate in Shell posted to the Netherlands should be blamed for policies and decisions made within Nigeria? I'll rather they r blamed when they do not perform the job functions for which they r paid.
PoliticsRe: D Outcome Of Wed 17th March, Fec Meeting! by blueflame1: 3:54pm On Mar 17, 2010
Today's meeting is very long. They r still counting and sharing money and contract. whether they change ministers or not it is the same inefficiency, looting and non-performance we would get. As fela said "soldier go soldier come" nothing new is happening. All birds of the same plumage, sticking together to loot and pilage Nigeria. Till the country is set on fire by the tired masses like was done in South Africa, USA(civil rights movement), Britain (Brixton riots, Northern Ireland civil unrest) expect nothing positive.

To be truthful to ourselves Gaddafi only said what is in the minds of a greater number of Nigerians. The same thing Nadeco, Mend, Massob, Arewa Youth Movement and others have said at different fora and times.

If we cant live together, as is becoming obvious, its best we leave apart in peace.

Further Education
Better foundation for the future generation
Exposure to global standards of operations.

And on another note, for those who abuse cleaners, taxi drivers and menial workers; it shows how misinformed and unexposed u are.
Those who work menial jobs, take home between £900 - £1200 in England per month, ie assuming u work for a minimum wage, from 9-5, monday to friday.

It is way better than sitting down doing nothing, in civilised societies no job is looked down on and nobody would bow to you cause everyone doing any job is 'free', free from servitude and oppression as is obtainable in Nigeria.

Harakiri: If u r actually intending to marry this girl, you should be more worried about her gross disrespect to u and 'impossible' attitude of hers towards reasonable conversation.

Lets assume she is cheating on u; that could be dealt with, probably she would even deal with it herself after she gets married (not condonable, but analysed to show this is a situation that can be brought under control)

But for disrespect, bad attitude, contempt and lack of regards for u; you should be more worried about that if u r considering marrying her, it is almost impossible to change an adults attitude and her characteristics are such that could lead to a violent and unhappy future for u.

It is best u cut your losses and move on now rather than get into a doomed marriage whose end is likely to be worse than is reasonably predictable.
Unless u r intent on committing Harakiri (japanese for suicide)

Now the harsher part of this story for me is that in spite of this woman's condition, she "may" be better than more than 70% of the populace in Nigeria.
She said her daughter is top of her class; if its true she has a future and hope in a caring and coordinated society based on merit.

In Nigeria I am afraid her children might not even go to school, and if they do, they probably wont get the right education. I have seen so many Nigerian graduates who struggled through thick and thin to graduate with a 2'1 and 1st class and remain jobless and hopeless, there are some with a PHD who are now militants and kidnappers.

It is sad, but till we realistically come to terms with how bad conditions are in Nigeria for the common man (doesn't include most of us with leisure internet access), we would be giving the wrong medication to the wrong ailment thereby exacerbating the situation; as has been the case since independence.

Every mother would want the best for their child, it should prick our sensibilities that this woman sees her condition as being far better than what would be available to her in Nigeria, though this is arguable, she may not be far from the truth.

U want her 2 resign because u want evil to continue and the masses to suffer.
U want 150million Nigerians to held down by Turai and her disgruntled elements called the cabal.

,   If that is your opinion, then it's okay,   just because u think differently doesn't mean that everyone have to toe your thinking path.

she have done nothing wrong to warrant her resignation.   Former Fin. Minister "Okonjo Ewenla" resigned when she was not pleased with OBJ Cabinet, in this case, Dora spoke her mind and the truth, and we are clamoring for her head  huh    Remember, OBJ also ask Yar. to take the path of Honor by resigning, despite OBJ atrocities.
Unless u don't understand what i wrote; resignation doesn't mean u have done something wrong.  On the contrary staying put till u r sacked is counter productive as it denigrates ur achievements.

I guess u still respect Okonjo Eweala and Colin Powel?

Guess u r advising dora to toe the path of Ofonagoro and Bola Igehuhhuh

the issue of rotational presidency is to ease ethnic tensions. anyone who denies ethnic tensions in this country either is very ignorant or has not lived in nigeria b4 . . or perhaps lives in absolute denial.
So the way it is being proposed how would it ease ethnic tension? So the current tensions as a direct result of it is not clear to you? And how and when do you propose the entire 250 tribes in Naija would get their turns?

A typical case of talking based on rumour and propaganda while ignoring facts on ground.

PoliticsRe: What Is Wrong With Jonathan? by blueflame1: 12:27pm On Mar 05, 2010
When baba iyabo was shopping for a running mate for Yaradua, the criteria and quality sort was: someone who is very dumb, a weak political base/antecedent, one who would not challenge Yaradua or rock the boat, the word was "someone unlike Atiku"

So the dumbest and dullest running mate amongst the South South Governors was chosen.

What do u expect? or does an old man learn to use his left hand at old age? Jonathan's inactions and inabilities are expected and characteristic of him, unless ur living in fantasy land.
PoliticsRe: Yar’adua: Resign Now, Northern Reps Tell Akunyili by blueflame1: 11:02am On Mar 05, 2010
I sincerely think Dora should resign. I find it difficult to comprehend what she would be doing in a cabinet populated by retards driving in the opposite direction of common sense. In any civilised society the entire cabinet would have resigned a long time ago. The tendency to stick in there at all costs is indicative of a self serving desire to hold on to power at all cost, the same sin we are accusing Yaradua of.

If I where Jonathan I would also have abandoned the Ag Presidential functions a long time ago; if the Governors and Cabinet decide not to respect the Position of the Ag President, then there is no need acting. Besides if he stops signing and awarding contracts, stops chairing the FEC meetings, stop signing monthly allocations to states, etc etc, the functions required of the President; the president would be forced to come out, and if his coteries are unable to present him they would be forced to plead with Jonathan, as for the Governors if they do not receive their allocations for 2months they would have to go and look for Yaradua, when Turai turns them back i'm sure they would turn to Jonathan on bended knees.
PoliticsRe: No Southern president in 2011 –Ogbulafor D by blueflame1: 9:44am On Mar 05, 2010
May I point out again to members of this forum that in my opinion the greatest failure of Nigeria is the inability of the educated and well informed to win the battle of informing and sensitising the general public. The mischievous  elites (includes Yaradua, Jonathan, Mark, Bankole and a host of others you all know) have continuously, since the inception of independence in 1960 sold their selfish agenda's with ethnic coloration's which "we" who should know better bite hook line and sinker. They are all birds of the same feather and have brokered their deals and benefits while we shout our self hoarse over the wrong things.

Apart from a few friends and cronies no one else benefits from the thieving people who have ruled us for decades. Neither would the Ijaws benefit from a Jonathan Presidency (apart from his retinue and friends and a few elites: did u look at the list of the presidential advisory council?), Katsina has been crying loud that they have benefited nothing from Yaradua and Ogun state indigenes and elders would readily tell you the legacy of the Obasanjo's rule (part 1, and part 2) resulted in disruption and oppression.

The idea of rotational presidency is a dubious one concocted by the same thieving elites to give themselves an opportunity for a turn by turn in looting Nigeria. It is a very retrogressive and unreasonable idea. Naturally power would rotate in a Presidential system, whether it is a rigged or a controlled one; how? Its simple

When Obasanjo was president and his tenure was coming to an end, it was only reasonable that he would pick someone from the north to succeed him, he picked Yaradua and Jonathan as VP. If all things being equal Yaradua had ruled for 8yrs he definitely would have had Jonathan succeed him (if joe plays his cards well), If he eventually fell out with Joe, naturally political expediency would dictate that he fights to stop him or replace him with a candidate from Joe's region (eg Banbangida Annuling June 12; enter Shonekon; OBJ fighting Atiku enter Yaradua).

The Joe or Joe replacement would naturally pick a northerner from another geopolitical zone in the north (not yaradua's zone), when Joe or his replacement wants to leave the Northerner takes over and picks a deputy not from Joe's geopolitical zone; come in an Igbo man etc and continues. This is not a certainty but is likely to be the sequence and a naturally flowing one. The agitators for a contrived one are scheming for their own benefits and trying to expedite their case so they are direct beneficiaries now they are at the corridors of power

Now those of us supporting a clearly cut out constitutional rotational system are only playing into the hands of our enemies, cause the direct beneficiaries are the ones singing the tunes and beating the drums, they know themselves and they are a few.

The general public stands to gain nothing. Most despicable about this rotational balderdash is that it has not been practiced anywhere in the world successfully, America is more diverse than Nigeria, a multi racial society not even ethnic, same for India, UK, South Africa etc. For those who would say Nigeria is different, may i remind you that our difference has been associated with failure, looking at models and picking those that have worked is a sign of maturity and wisdom.

What we should be fighting for is a just and equitable society, without that the president can come from mars, it would not benefit anyone apart from the inner caucus or cabal (as is popularly used now).

PoliticsRe: No Southern president in 2011 –Ogbulafor D by blueflame1: 6:56pm On Mar 04, 2010
Tuyis: It doesn't have a constitutional backing yet. We r talking about what is and not what should be, cause that is utopian judging from the inability of the house to act accordingly in the past
PoliticsRe: No Southern president in 2011 –Ogbulafor D by blueflame1: 6:41pm On Mar 04, 2010
[A rotational arrangement should have a term limit in order to prevent the same problem it was meant to solve.]

Tuyis: Since in this case the rotational arrangement is not written in contract or constitution, how do you propose to limit the next president to one ter,? considering he would be in power?
PoliticsRe: No Southern president in 2011 –Ogbulafor D by blueflame1: 6:32pm On Mar 04, 2010
Guess our politicians lack the ability to think ahead. So what would happen in 2015?  If Yaradua is unable to complete his tenure and a new President from the North rules from 2011 to 2015, I am sure it would be difficult to stop a sitting president from going for a second term, especially as he would readily tell you he is not Yaradua who spent the first term.
