Family / 4 Ways To Rev Up Your Marriage Sexually by bluelagos: 8:15am On Oct 13, 2016
Marriage is a long term relationship which can sometimes turn into a dry spell, causing the embers of passion to die out. The importance of sex cannot however be over-emphasized.

We know that adult life isn't easy, especially with having to work, sorting the bills and dealing with the kids, this doesn't however mean that your sex life has to suffer.

Don't wait till you are in the mood: This happens especially to women who feel they need to be in the mood before they can have sex. However, according to research, desire comes after arousal and not before for a woman, and so you might find out you really needed the sex after all. So, don't wait, just do it, even if it is a quickie. It's one way of reducing stress and connecting with your partner.

Talk about sex: While you are probably used to your partner's body, and are familiar with what he or she is going to do next, it doesn't make not talking about sex okay. When you both have more free time in your hands, talk about the things you both like that is done in the bedroom and what you'd like done too. The talk can also help turn up the heat and you know where that leads.

Be open-minded: Whilst it is okay not to feel pressure or be intimidated by your styles in the bedroom, because sex is not porn, it is okay to approach sex with an open mind and communicate your wants and desires.

Try something new: Getting into familiar patterns can cause your partner to go on auto-pilot because they know what's going to happen next. However, once in a while, ensure you try something new.

Health / How To Conduct A Perfect Self Breast Examination by bluelagos: 8:17am On Oct 11, 2016
Conducting a breast examination on one's self as a woman is one of the best ways to be less anxious of breast cancer, and we don't even have to be doctors to know what to look for.

When you frequently examine your breasts, you quickly become used to what is and isn't normal about your breasts.

Once you find any lump or anything abnormal, it's time to see a doctor. However, before you begin to panic about finding a lump, note that not all lumps denote cancer.

So, here's how to conduct a perfect self examination.

You can conduct your breast exam in front of a mirror, lying down or whilst in the shower. Examine your breast with the pads of your fingers, working from the outer breast towards the nipple. Gently press your nipple to check out for discharges.

Divide your breasts mentally in four sections: Even though lumps can be found anywhere, it is easier to describe to your doctor where exactly you found the lump. So, divide your breasts into; upper outer (including your armpit), upper inner, lower outer and lower inner.

What to check for; Size (big or small) and texture (hard or soft) of the lump; mobility (fixed or mobile) and pain (painful or not); where it was found; any discharge from your nipple either on its own or when you press; any changes on the skin around your breast?

What your findings mean; If your texture is hard and not as soft as grapes, then it is abnormal. If your lump is fixed and doesn't move around, it is abnormal.

If there is a nipple discharge, your nipples are inverted, the skin around the lump, then it's abnormal.

If you feel pain, it could be due to your menstrual cycle, undergoing a physical activity without a supportive bra, or too much consumption of caffeine and can be described as normal. It becomes abnormal when the pain is only on one breast. Most times though, breast cancer lumps are usually painless.

Try to carry out a self breast examination around same time every month. Do not conduct one just before your period. Wait till it's your mid-cycle.

Women on menopause can just pick a date and stick to that date every month.

Health / 7 Diabetic Symptoms You Shouldn't Ignore by bluelagos: 11:33am On Oct 09, 2016
Diabetes can be successfully managed, if you are educated enough about the symptoms. If you know the symptoms to watch out for, you can successfully delay or prevent complications.

So, what are the symptoms to watch out for?

Excessive urination and threat: If you are constantly thirsty and feel a need to urinate every now and then, it means your blood sugar is high. High blood sugar can lead to heart disease, kidney failure, nerve disease or even put you in a diabetic coma.

Dizziness and shakiness: This is a symptom that comes from having low blood sugar. Asides, being dizzy and shaky, you would also feel confused most times. If your blood sugar is too low, you could pass out.

Wounds refuse to heal: Blood cells that are responsible for healing wounds cannot get to heal your wounds because blood flow is decreased as a cause of the diabetes. Once the wounds turn to sores and ulcers, they can become infected, and might require amputation.

Chest pain: Having a jamming pain in your chest, jaw or arm is an indication that you might be having a heart attack. Diabetes weaken your blood vessels and allow plaque to build up in your arteries. This plaque can damage your heart muscle, resulting in a heart attack or stroke if the plaque goes to your brain....

Health / Low Blood Sugar? Taking Sugar The Right Way by bluelagos: 11:18am On Oct 09, 2016
Checking your blood sugar and knowing your level can help you determine what food to eat, what medicine to take, and how physically active you should be.

Low blood sugar which is called hypoglycemia is usually present in those who have diabetes.

Eating correctly when you have low blood sugar is important, as you need the correct level of carbohydrate intake so your blood sugar doesn't go low.

If you take alcohol for instance and you have low blood sugar, it's best to eat whilst drinking, else you are in danger of having the alcohol mask the hypoglycemia, which is dangerous ....

Religion / Believing In The Laws Of Karma Or Grace As A Christian by bluelagos: 11:10am On Oct 09, 2016
Many people have become divided over the teachings of karma and that of grace.

What does karma mean? It is the belief that our actions bring corresponding reactions. Most see karma as one of the laws of the universe, with some believing that karma can be experienced even after reincarnation.

Some Christians even point out that the bible believes in Karma. For instance, Gal 6:7 says, "Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap", which is what karma generally teaches, however the bible does not believe in reincarnation.

However, the bible also teaches that God's grace can break a cycle of sin and sorrows. For instance, Psalm 103:10 says, " He has not dealt with us according to our sins, nor punished us according to our iniquities"

Also in the bible, bad things happened to good people, such as Job and Jesus Christ, which karma doesn't believe in. According to karma, Job and Jesus Christ might have been entirely bad in their previous lives to have been afflicted and crucified....
