Romance / Re: Help! My Marriage Is About To Crash by bluesaint(m): 11:00am On Jun 24, 2015
@OP; It's very obvious you went ahead to blossom a "TOXIC RELATIONSHIP" into marriage with the false promise of a change of character by your husband. Unfortunately, characters don't just change because it's in the DNA of a human. Only God has the power to change any man's character and that is usually through salvation.
As a result of the legal union, you just have to stay and endure and pray for him..."FOR BETTER FOR WORSE." If you went into marriage with the right knowledge, you wouldn't have married him because you would have looked beyond all the glitz and razzmatazz. Am sorry but you are already in!
KEEP PRAYING...GOD IS ABLE!

Sorry dear about this but I work with the same Project but in Bonny and not under Serve Consulting. Role was filled by the project administrator who was in Bonny. She was moved to Port-harcourt as the project in Bonny rounded up since she was already used to the role and team members.

Thanks so much. This just cleared my doubts because I was very sure of resuming with them and was suppose to work for just a year. I also found out some staff on that project are now with other companies.
Pls I'll really like to have ur whatsapp contact as there are some information I'll want to get from you pls. Thank you. I'll inbox my number.
Jobs/Vacancies / NLNG - My Interview & Confusion. by bluesaint(m): 1:31pm On Jun 23, 2015
Hello Joblanders,

It has become pertinent for me to also share my story here, in order to get one or two piece of relevant advice from a better experienced NLander.
Sometime in August last year, I was invited for an interview by Serve Consulting in NLNG for the position of a Project Administrator. I prepared and all, during the short notice. A friend had submitted my CV as the opening was an in-house thing for their Port Harcourt operations.
I met with the interviewers - a man and a woman - after waiting for over an hour. After the usuals of introductions I realised it was just a brief interview as no special skills were needed and from the visitors log, I realised I and someone else I didn't meet were scheduled for an interview that day although the time was different...hours apart. I was interviewed and it went well. They asked If I had any questions on which I answered no, citing that my questions are basically things I'll find out on the job. They told me they will get back to me, as it was supposed to be a year project but up until now no word from them. I've sent mails without a reasonable response until one of the interviewers replied saying the position has been filled. The friend who submitted the CV said I shouldn't bother about them so I suspected some shaddy dealings.
Abeg my people wetin una feel say really happen?

Politics / Re: We Will Give Achebe A Befitting Burial - Southeast Governors by bluesaint(m): 9:21am On Apr 11, 2013
Ola Johnson:
To be candid, no great philosophy in Achebe's work. Reading his books doesn't create any philosophical stand on topical issues in the mind of the reader. I no longer read his books at my age, I hardly read for entertainment but to build a great view on topical issues.
You lied Achebe doesn't hate Nigeria, why was it that his voice was heard on when the Igbo are involved? He fought for the disintegration of Nigeria while Soyinka fought for one Nigeria, and was kept in solitary confinement for two years. Don't allow ethnicity becloud your sense of reasoning.
Ola my friend, to state that Achebe's work holds no philosophy will be like saying Nigeria has no rivers. Achebe's philosophy amongst others is that "a nation like nigeria (multi ethnic) should allow for a healthy competition amongst its citizens as this will drive rapid development". That is just one and the ibos were victimized for this.
Achebe is one of those writers that wasn't there to entertain like Soyinka. This earned the latter a Nobel. At a time some intellectual felt concerned for Achebe and Soyinka, being seperated by the war. Soyinka NEVER preached "one Nigeria" (in the context of opposing secession) even during the Biafran war; instead he attacked the govt in his plays and that landed him in prison. Achebe on the other hand was a "literary prophet" who foretold the coup - A man of the people. In the book "How the Leopard got its claws", it was Achebe and Okigbo that transformed it afta the author brought in the original manuscript, an entire different story. Achebe never wrote to entertain...his messages were always hidden. And if your mind is so shallow to comprehend I'll understand (no disrespect pls). Even in things fall apart, this man's message was well hidden in the cast and story line. Achebe had to protect his people from Pogrom because even his life was at stake...If only U know what the Ibos suffered. We've always been the target right from inception.
I love and miss Achebe, for he was one of the men of integrity left in Africa. Now that he is gone, I know Madiba knows that he is the last man standing.

X-factoria:

And to think that this man spent his latter days growing hatred speaks to Igbos desperation for a hero.

If he had been the winner of the nobel laureate, we would have been deafened by the echoes of that achievement.
Why is it so difficult for you Nigerians to understand Achebe's philosophy and pains for the plight of Nigeria? Just why? Achebe doesn't hate Nigeria, but hated the way the affairs of the once promising nation is bein run. The looting, the lawlessness n all. Well, any civilian that wasn't entangled to the corruption of the government of the then and present will understand this. Achebe wasn't even in support of the secession of Biafra, but the Pogrom left him no choice. It was the only hope of survival. Don't you get? Some of you don't even understand the facts. Why is it so difficult to understand your own history?
The Igbo nation will always celebrate its heroes and who cares if it makes u depressed? Achebe didn't win the Nobel for his style of writing. Get that! There are better writers in Africa at that time and even now...far better than Soyinka, but he won that year's prize in the category. If u care to know, the world celebrates Achebe in so many ways. I'm sure you are yet to know the man and understand what he stood for.

Achebe is not the kind of man that will not leave a plan on how to bury him after his demise. I'm sure he must have told his family not to bury him with the money of our corrupt politicians, including those from the S/E states. They are meeting, but his family wasn't present; that is a sign I guess.
Our nations is at the whims of doom! $400 Billion looted since independence as official figure which is surely an under estimation! *Singing Majek Fashek's "send down the rain".
